Received a call from this number offering to reduce my interest rate on my credit card. But they don't really know what card I have. But they are pretty sneaky asking to confirm first the expiration date, then the card number, but don't worry, they will not ask for my mother's maiden name, nor the 3 digit security code on the back, as that is private, and they can't do anything with just the card number and the expiration date. Hmmm, most of the vendors I deal with do just fine charging my card with just those two pieces of info. And if I hang up, then this will be my last chance to take advantage of this opportunity.

So be warned, these guys are phishing for your info.

702-705-5334 just hit my cell phone number. Scammer, as everyone has said. I've written books about scams and keep blogs about scammers so this just gets added online. It does need enforcement because unsuspecting and unprepared seniors are probably falling for this.

Received a call on my cell phone at 11:00 with a prerecorded message from "Account Services" claiming that they could lower my interest rate to 6.9%. Said to press 1 to speak with a live representative or press 2 to stop being contacted. I didn't press anything for a few seconds and the call disconnected.

Definitely a scammer.

A recording of someone claiming to be from "Account Services" saying that I am eligible to lower my interest rate as low as 6.9%. It said to press 1 to speak to a live representative or press 2 to discontinue offers. I didn't press anything and they hung up after a few seconds.

There weren't any further details in the call.

This company called my CELL phone number before 9am this morning.  How did they get my cell #?  I didn't answer this call from "unknown caller" but did re-dial to see what info I could get.  They have a recorded message that if you want to be on their DO NOT CALL LIST for future advertising, push #1.  I did push 1 and hope it works but I also have the fear that it will just ramp up their calls.  Today I filed my first FCC complaint into their very easy on-line form at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  Now that I know it is so easy to do I will take a couple of minutes to file as often as I can for all the aggravating calls that I get at home at all hours.  Somehow we need to get through to Congress that these are so annoying and disruptive to our private space, not to mention how they are rude, curse, and hang up on people who do not cooperate with their scam.  Then we are often subjected to repeated call backs over the next 48 hours.  [One company called me nine times over the next two days.]  And what about preying on the elderly?  The only way to stop this is to make it criminal, not a gentle cheap fine or it will never end.

Unsolicted Robo call said Credit Card Services could lower the interest rateson my credit cards, push 1 to connect so I could get info from them and report them.  Person with a 'Thick Accent' who sounded like he was in a call center claimed to be Edward Christian, ID #551, Ext 262, Head Office, in Orlando, Florida.  He refused to provide a call back number.  Told him I don't want their unsolicted service and to take me off thier call list.  Told him I was going to report him because I was on the Do Not Call list; he laughed and said he would make sure I get a lot more calls from different numbers and hung up.  I just got another robo call from the exact same people but from 702-705-5334.

-Phone number: 702-705-5334 is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
-Its exchange 705 is managed by SILVER STRAND ENTERPRISES, LLC.

-Latest people reported the number as that of "Brian / Tonya, Natalie / Roony"

I just received a call from 1-805-408-4276 about lowering my interest rate on my credit card. When I asked what company he was from, he said visa/mastercard. I asked which bank and he said he was not calling from a bank he was calling from visa/mastercard and they were going to lower my interest rate to 6% because I had been paying my bills on time for over 6months. When I asked which card he just kept saying your visa or your mastercard or both. I hung up on him and he call back from another number 1-702-705-5334 and said he was calling from visa/mastercard in Florida and they could offer me good rates and I needed to listen to what he had to say, he said all I had to do was give the the experation date on my credit cards. REALLY! Needless to say after I did not give him the information he wanted he hung up, and I immediately Goggled both numbers. I figured this was a scam.

Received robo call on cell phone about lowering credit card interest.  Told me to call a number to get info.  Did.  Calls directed to India.  Gentleman very insistent about 'confirming' credit card information and account info.  That made me wonder so I researched the number and discovered online that this is a scam.  Would you please, in the interest of keeping your citizens financial health intact, provide a vehicle to punish this type of activity.

Write our Congress and Senate. We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

How it works:
http://onthespotblog.com/on-the-spot-blog-stirs-up-rachel-at-cardholder-services/ ...
http://onthespotblog.com/tag/cardholder-services/

We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false)
numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in
this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.

Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small
print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer
Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes
or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for
each violation.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

The FTC has already taken action against some of them however they just pay a small fine and are back at the same scam the next day:

I will say it again, we need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these
calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem
solved. Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

I just got a call from 702-705-5334. I know nothing I say about not wanting such calls will make any difference. So I just played along. I acted like the world's biggest dumbass. lots and lots of high-rate credit debt. but unfortunately, we had a, um, bad connection so she had to repeat everything over and over. no matter her question, i had trouble hearing and/or understanding. i mixed up expiration dates with interest rates with account numbers. (none of which were real) i had her so confused, she finally hung up and promised to call back. gonna make that scammy bi*** work for her money.

I was told the same thing and they were very persistent using 702-705-5334 and 253-236-2035.  When I told them that I wasn't interested, I would hang up and they kept calling me back.  Also, a female tried to scam me first and when I wouldn't bite, she then put her so-called supervisor on the phone.

Don't take any calls from 1-253-236-2035, 702-725-5251, 702-705-5334. They say that they are from Chase & want to lower your APR. They ask for entire acct #/expiration date. Also, if you know your balance. I reported them to FBI at 1-617-742-5533. I hope it works for everyone.
