This is a robo call, they usually are testing a phone number for what ever reason. Maybe the are going to sell it to a collection agency, a tele-marketer, or some other data bank service to sell you out to the retail world.

Don't answer. Or hit reject, which seems to delete them from recontacting your number, for a while.

All of these tones, beeps, and eletronic pitches are the computers talking to each other.

This number called during the day, didn't leave a message.  They let the phone ring plenty of times.  When I tried to call them back it was busy, then later in the evening there was no answer, then again today it is busy.

It is highly unlikely that it is a bill collector but sometimes, rarely, but sometimes some calls come in on my number that were not intended for me.

If it is an advertiser then this is a poor way of doing business.  First you irritate the potential customer?

If they think they are going to gain a customer by first annoying them by not identifying themselves and hanging up, they are so wrong.

It this is a bill collector, wouldn't they like to leave a threatening message and have me call them back.  Someone who had my number before does have a bill collector looking for them, for something in Detroit.

At this time, and for a few years I have been meticulous regarding bill paying.  So I don't think it is anyone looking for me.

I think I can go on the Verizon site and block them . . . which means I have to take the time out of my busy life to go on-line and sort through that.  Sooner or later this month, I will.  Right now I'm just mad.

Calling and letting it ring, not leaving a message, having a busy phone on the dial back, no one answering it in the evenings, and such.  I want to be left alone.  Unless I won the lottery or a real prize.

It also bothers me because I have a lost brother.  He may know where he is, but he isn't telling our sister the truth and he hates me because I suggested he work anywhere and rebuild his reputation so he is someone who could be hired at a good job.  He is homeless for the most part, very good with cell phone equipment, 53, and used to having other people pay his way.

So now I have to wonder, is it him calling?  I don't know.  I wouldn't let him starve but I wouldn't let him mooch either.

When companies make calls like this, they don't seem to think about the consequences in the lives of others.  Now I have another worry?  Who called and why and is my brother behind the calls?  Now I've seen so many complaints, I would guess not.  However it took time out of my life to go online and check.

We have responsibilities to other human beings, just to be respectful, not waste someone's time, and not to upset people without reason.

I have had this same person call me... same exact thing happened to me as the person listed above. When I tried calling back I got a busy signal.
