He answered my ad on CL and did the whole certified check thing and then said he was moving trying to get sympothy and how he wants to use paypal now. SCAM!!!

I just got a message from this number wanting all my information. Im not sure how many people he has done this to. I am not going to be one of them. I gave him no info and said cash only on pickup. Definatly a scam.

This is still happening, got a txt from this #  responding to a ad I posted on CL, they asked if the item was still available too. Wish I'd looked this up before answering.

Scam!! The same happened to me

Same deal. This happened to me today 2/20/2014. Received a text saying they would send a certified check and would arrange for pickup of the item after check has cleared.

I received a text from this number, 702-758-7679, asking if an item I had on Craig's List was still available.   I responded yes, and then felt suspicious, due to writing on text, it copies the title of my ad, then also realized the area code is across the country.  I googled it and found out this may be a scam.  
UPDATE:   Just got more texts from this number.   saying that they would send a certified check and would arrange to pick up item after check has cleared bank, asking for name and address, and will mail USPS Express Mail.
I replied that I have reported this fraud to the police.  I am also on hold right now to my phone carrier to report this.

I put a car on Craigslist for $1000. They wanted me to give them my address so that he could mail me a certified check and then arrange for someone to come pick it up after the check cleared my account. SCAM

received a text message from this number answering to an ad I had on Craigslist for a high priced item. They want me to give them my address and PO Box number so they can send me a certified check for 3500 dollars and then deposit it into my account and wait until it clears. Then he stated that he would have someone come pick up the advertise item after the check has cleared into my account

Happened today, wanted a high priced item I put on KSL in UTAH. Gave him my dads info bcuz it was my dad selling the item. Screen shot this reported it to local police & my phone carrier. Informed the number of what I did as soon as I read this. Hate scam artists. Get a Real Job. People work to hard for con & scam artist to not want to get a job.

Received text messages from this number (Nevada apparently) responding to an ad in a Utah classified. Turned out he was attempting to hijack my phone by having someone call from another number and then enter a code (which after doing a quick Web search on turns out is a way people hijack your cell # through Google play). Beware if you get a text from this number.
