SAM is a Sales Rep of BDI, an agency looking to take over your PPC/SEM Campaigns.

Same thing as others are getting ... This is Lee...saw you number on your website. Got a question! bla, bla, bla.

I deleted message.

Some named sam called and said he saw my site and had some questions. Someone just trying to make money on web optimization.

Tami called me.  Caller ID shows up as 866-743-8961.  Same msg as others have said.  I also caught the call one time.  She asked to speak with Anna (my wife and business partner).  I told her that I was her assistant and would be the one to talk to.  She refused to talk to me.  I insisted that Anna would not be calling her, because that's my job, so she could just talk to me about the matter.  Again she refused and said that she had left a message for Anna and she could call her back if she wanted.  Little did she know that she had left that msg for me :)  She was quite stupid for behaving as she did, because I am actually looking at some potential SEO companies right now and she might have had my ear with a good presentation.

Tamekia called our company from "Business Development Institute" and asked for the owner (of course).  When our employee wouldn't connect her she was very rude. I am one of the owners and I called her back. Someone answered and said "this is the ansewring service" and I asked for Tamekia.  She was very agressive about getting me to sit in a room with her for a presentation regarding using their services instead of click-to-pay to advertise our business online.  I told her that we have an IT professional who handles all of that for us and she accused him of doing a bad job for us because he was using click-to-pay. She was very upset that she would have to meet with our IT pro, that he cannot make independent decisions, and that I would not attend the presentation. So I told her that is how we do business and if she didn't want to do business that way then our conversation was over. She hung up.  Then I called back, again someone answered and said "this is the answering service." I asked to speak to a supervisor and I swear this person put the phone down, then picked it up again and tried to act as though he was the supervisor. I asked him if he was the answering service how could he also be a supervisor? He then got Steve Howe on the phone (who may or may not be any kind of supervisor) and I told him that Tamekia was very rude to our employees and rude to me as well, and advised him that this is no way to do business.  It won't do any good though.  These people are sharks out for the kill, they specialize in high-pressure sales tactics. Avoid them at all costs.

Just got the same message on my phone.  I guess I don't have to call her back....

I have had several calls from that number. The person says her name is Liz (no last name) and asks for my boss to call her back at this number. She said she had been looking at our website and had some questions, but she wouldn't tell me what the questions were until we called her back. I checked out the number online and found this website. Thanks for letting me know about the number. When she called back again I told her not to call back..

Tamekia called me too.  I noticed the numbers were not in my area code. (702-835-1516 & 866-743-8961)  Did a Google search on the number and found this website.

Called them back and some rude person answered the phone with "answering service" and I asked the name of the business, she said "Business Development", which obviously is not it.  This is definately a scam.

Danm!  Shoulda run the number here first!

Same senario, "Lee" left a message saying he was looking at my site and had some questions".  He left the number 702-835-1516.  When I reached him he launched into a pitch for SEO services and wanted to do a live walk-thru demo (which didn't happen).

As someone else mentioned in an earlier post, I'll be adding whocallsme to my bookmarks as a resource for future reference....

Got a Call from "Theresa" 12/08/2009 @ 02:58pm pacific time.  She left a message and said she had some questions for me.  Didn't say what it was regarding... It smelled like an outbound telemarketing call so I looked it up here.   Caller ID 866-743-8961... Call back number 1-702-835-1516.  Having confirmed here that it was a telemarketer,  I didn't call back.

I got a call from "Kelly" regarding the same thing and same number. When I called her back, she said she looked at my web site and it was "awesome" Funny, because it's non-operable. Anyhow, she says she needs to talk to the owner and when I asked what it's about she says "confidential information". So I told her he worked outside of the office. When she asked for his name and number, I told her Mr. Ferret and gave her the number to the local pet store.

Waste my time and I'll waste yours.

Shelly keeps wanting to talk to me about Search Engine Optimization. I'm already on the front page of Google, so stop bugging me!

Got a call from Sam asking about my web site. It seems obvious that this was a spam / scam call.

Sam just called. same thing. Spoke really fast, so I knew something was up...

This is a scam. They claim they can optimize your site placement in search engines, but all they do is try to rip you off. There is no back door to optimize your ranking in search engines.

Received a call from 866-743-8961 stating April from Yellow Pages Business Development asking "May I speak with your owner" I stated they were not available and she asked "What's his name again."  I explained I could take a message but we do not disclose that information.  She said her name was April and gave a call-back # of 702-835-1516

I'm a photographer, so my contact info is readily available on my website... Just got a call from Shelly message goes as:

"My name is Shelly and I was just on your website have a couple of questions for you. You can reach me at 702-835-1516 once again. My name is Shelly and my number here is 702-835-1516. Thank you. "

looks like a scam... I'm going to block the number!

702-835-1516...Same Thang...He left a message (question about my website)....But this time his name was "LEE". I had actually tried to look up the number to get the time zone of his area code and what do ya know....HA!!!!  I love the internet!!!

I just got a call from a guy named, "Sam". He said he had seen my website and had some questions. I listened to the voice mail again and noticed there was a lot of noise in the background... as if he was calling from a telemarketing office. He's didn't sound like my typical client... but, more like a high-powered sales person. So, I went online and typed in the number he left. I'm glad I did. If he found me, I obviously don't need his SEO services. ;)

I googled the phone number and saw all of your comments.866-743-8961 is the number that called me and Erik said to call 702-835-1516. After reading all of your comments, I returned the call and it was a receptionist who answered. I didn't ask for Erik. I just said wrong number.

10/27/09 - In VM caller said his name was Sam. Was just sooo intrigued by my website. Did not return call after viewing this site.
