Yeah, so these fantastic folks called my home phone at nearly midnight, but were convinced that it was only 8:48 because they thought they dialed a WA # where we used to live.  Our home phone is CLEARLY an East Coast #.

Got call on cell phone from (702) 932-3408.  They asked for me by first name.  I replied that he was not at home.  I called the number back and it says that this number is not in service.  I will no longer answer calls from this number.

These people have called my house about 10 times in the past week. I typically don't answer when I don't recognize the # but they keep calling and calling. I picked up once and hung up without saying anything just to get the phone to stop ringing and then they called right back.  They don't leave a message, of course and from the sounds of it, if you call them back you can't connect. I guess I will have no choice but to answer next time and hope that when I tell them not to call back they will honor that.  Well, then again I guess I could just block their #.

They called me twice today. The first time "Opinion Poll"(702-932-3408), they mumbled some poll description, and then asked me if anyone in household was spanish speaking, I said no and they said this is a poll on spanish speaking mumble mumble and hung up. Four hours later called again "Opinion Poll" (702-932-3401) I saw caller ID, so I prepared a little, they again mumbled off poll description and I asked what exactly the poll was for, "you" didnt explain it clearly, and she said, Its about the health care and mumbled off some jargon letting me know she did not know her scripts well. Then she asked my race: white, black or hispanic, she did not mention asian. I said white, then she said, this poll is not for "that" nationality. I dont know what she means by "White Nationality" !

Hokay this is something really trippy.

Did anyone else get random calls from an unlisted suppossed telemarketing firm at 702-932-3408?

First off they claimed to be “Voters For Peace” and I asked them after they asked for a donation “Well do you have a website?” They said “No” and I thought “Well what freakin nonprofit doesn’t have a website?” Since I’m always careful with charities and donate if I can only depending on their standing with charity ratings I was like “I’ll think about it.”

Now it gets wierder here: I was going out with someone to dinner and I got another call- It was from the same number. This time though it was about 8 o’clock at night instead of the afternoon and the person seemed to be whisperring to me on the other end of the line. At the same time my phone had an echo when I was talking through it that was kind of wierd. As if the line was split or I was being recorded on the other end.

The next day my roommates phone made the same echo when they were calling friends and family which made them paranoid.

I got another random call from that number around 8 or 9 or 10 at night…

But it gets even better with this unlisted number:

whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/7029323408

800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-702-932-3408

Then on Google there was a site that was listed on the search that was for the “Sweet Dream” escort agency. It had the number listed on a popup regarding employment saying “If you got a call from this number they were probably either credit collectors or solicitors.” (Of course they couldn’t be credit collectors because I am always turned down for credit and have been for years which has become a neverending cycle.)

Anyway I let it ring the last time they called and tried dialing back and got an error message.

Now I’m afraid that 1) It’s a CIA front especially with the nature of being so conspicuously inconspicuous and they’re using MKULTRA or COINTELPRO style pervasive tactics as opposed to operating in isolation, especially since there’s the issue of the elections coming up and the primaries and people swaying the other direction. After all people wouldn’t likely be voting for another Bush or Bush buddy after this year. 2) The number comes from a “Videodrome” style signal and they get people to become curious so that they follow the breadcrumbs and are led to be kidnapped and act in a snuff film. 3) Like Jack Sarfatti, more than one person are getting “Phone calls from god- E. T. phone home.” 4) Once you follow where it’s coming from you get sucked into a black hole. 5) It’s a test line for the phone companies to test on. 6) Teenagers have phreaked the line and are using voicechangers and are trying to look cool while doing it and are failing at looking cool and just being annoying. 7) I need more sleep.

Anyone else have any weird stories about this number? I didn’t think about it until how much I thought about how weird it all is. I mean come on people! How do you not know which company you work for after being asked....

The people from that number are really weird… But now I’m getting more curious about where this is coming from and am amused by the melodramatic weirdness of these creepy motherf***ers.

What do you all think?

The man who spoke to me said it was an opinion poll.  He asked if I was happy or unhappy in the direction the 'country was going'.  What the heck does that mean, anyway?  I asked who was the sponsoring this call and he hung up. What a bunch of whooie to influence voters who will hear "80% of the country is unhappy".  WHAT DOES THAT MEAN????

I just got a call from this number.   I don't pick up numbers I don't know.  If it's really important, they'll leave a VM.  In this case they did, nothing but background noise .. then hang up.  How'd they get my number.  Losers.

He called and was barely audible, asked me if I would take a survey about abortion. I told him that I was on the no call list, and that this was my cell phone and not to call again. I also let him know that I thought it highly insensitive and inappropriate to be calling asking people to give their views of abortion over the phone. What if by chance he got someone who had just had one or had just had a miscarriage or something? I hung up on him after that.

They called me tonight about 8:38 PST.  The number 702-932-3408 showed up.  I knew the area code was from Vegas...and I don't know anyone in Vegas so I assumed it was a solicitor.  It was right after the RNC speech tonight so it makes sense that they were probably calling to get my opinion on the speech...I did not answer

Survey
I got a call from this survey company (McGuire Research Services) asking lots of questions about the upcoming gubernatorial election in Minnesota. The surveyor was nice and funny and told me I was "very young" when I gave my age as 26. I wasn't sure how to take that. Was it a complement or a put-down? I laughed a little and he said, "Yes, very young." His foreign accent sounded contrived; it was too perfect, like Apu from <cite>The Simpson's</cite>. I'd take that call again.

They call a personal cellphone several times a week, and now block their #, so it says Caller Unknown, but I know it's them. They also have my name, somehow, and once she argued w/ us when we said this # is on a Do Not Call list, and that they must take the # off immediately. I'd say we have probably gotten at least 10 calls form them, and they say that they are the Democratic Committee or something like that.

Survey
I live in the 2nd district of Humboldt County, California. The called ID said "Opinion Poll" and a gruff voiced male  asked if my wife was in, so he could poll her. I said he'd have to call right back and she'd pick up.  He did not ask me any questions except whether my wife would be interested in answering questions about the local election. The election is for County Supervisor for this district, 3 candidates are running, and it is locally exciting.  A blogger reports a number of people have been reached by this poll, and believes a certain candidate is behind it.  The pollster did not call back to talk with my wife, and didn't seem interested in asking me the poll questions, which suggests it is a legitimate poll. He called about 6:45 p.m.

They called our home--also a political survey having to do with policitics and health care--sounded like it was trying to determine how people felt about government-supported health care.

Asked a lot of questions that were "blanket statements"  requiring an "either/or", "yes/no", answers.  I felt that drawing conclusions from these answers would have misleading results.  As the survey went on, the questions became very long and complicated and confusing.  The interviewer claimed not to know who he was working for.  The call came on a Saturday afternoon.  Any other time and I doubt I would have participated
