Got two quick calls from 'meg' from Bankers Life. She said her branch manager saw my resume on Monster.com and wanted to talk to me about career opportunities.
Thanks to the comments below, I will not bother calling her back!

Call Received: 2 calls at 5:23 PM EDT.
Caller ID: 703-249-6003
Missed Calls List: VA, USA
Response: Did not pick up. They left a message:
"Hello, Richard, this is (Clarise?) calling from Bankers Life and, uh, Casualty. Our manager came across your résumé that you posted on CareerBuilder.com and would like to speak to you with regards to the career opportunities we have available. So, please call me back, Richard, at 703-249-6003. Looking forward to speaking with you. Have a great afternoon. (Then 7 seconds of silence before the sound of a phone hanging up). The message was of poor quality. Since I do in fact have a visible résumé on Career Builder, I decided to Google the phone number to make sure that the company was legitimate. I got several results for "Bankers Life and Casualty scam." Therefore, I shall assume that this is a scam.
There is a website called "P***ed Consumer," and on this website, there is an 87-page thread regarding this company. If you search "Bankers Life and Casualty Scam" on Google, this thread is at the top of the list of results. Needless to say, I am NOT interested in a position with them.

Ditto. The message was not clear and when called back, it was going to voicemail. I called manytimes but it went directly to voicemail.

Called my cell 2x in a row as if it's an an emergency. Called the number back and it went straight to voice mail. It was a women with a heavy asian accent speaking very fast. It was Gwen Bankers Life and Casualty Company, I had to call 3x to finally get all that down. Called again 3hrs later and Gwen picked up and asked for my name, told her she called me she should know my name. She said she received my resume from online and I told her I never posted my resume online, she persisted to say she has a job opening and her manager has my resume. I told her that I'm not interested buh bye.

Ditto. Poor quality, mumbling the company name, asking to call back because her manager found my resume online. Sleazy insurance job.

Just received a call from this number, did not understand the name, but did not say companies name. Just something about my resume was found by the manager on a webside, that I did not even use.

Someone from this number called twice this morning and said nothing. Could have been a bad connection but glad to know this was the nature of the call so I can ignore it the next time they call. Thanks

I just received a call from the same number. I couldn't hear either this name or the company's; just that he saw my resume on-line and he had some questions.
| BIE 2011-01-19 15:48:09 Unknown |
Called, left a message that he reviewed my resume posted on-line (did not say where), had few questions and asked to call back. The person was very hard to understand and I could not get the name of the company, no matter how many times I listened to the message. Sounds unprofessional and suspicious.
