Yep, it's WAMU card services.  I have a list of about 11 numbers they use alternatively every day.  They call about every 2 hours or so, beginning at 8AM to about 8PM.  Very annoying, I ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and they tell me they are busy or not there.  I refuse to speak to them because I can't understand them very well....they sound middle eastern or indian.

I get calls from a different area code each day-- Washington Mutual took over Providian Visa and their collection department is relentless.  All is does is strengthen my resolve to pay this card *LAST*!

I'm like a week late on this card.  A first in many years for me, as I'm always on time, but they're not cutting me any slack.  They call me from various numbers, dozens of times a day, every day.  First the home phone, then 1 minute later, my cell, then 10 minutes later, a different number (different area code, but same people) and same routine, then another number, same routine.  Then a break and the cycle continues.  This goes on from 8am until 9pm, every day.  It will stop in about a week when the payment is made, I assume, but seriously now, this is crazy.  What if you just can't pay your bill?  Life happens, you know.  I sympathize with those who cannot pay their bills and have to deal with these people on a regular basis.  So, harassing you on the phone will make money magically appear that you can send them?  Is that the mentality?

Yeah these guys are ridiculous. I was two days late and they tried calling me and asking if I wanted to pay the late payment and the next months payment. I was thinking to my self, are you freakin serious? Your calling me because i'm two days late? I replied and told him he would get my payment when I send it. These guys are never goning to get business from me once this card is gone.

This is Washington Mutual.  The frustrating thing is that I had already made a payment on the account.  When I got on the line and told this to the lady, she said that she could see the payment on the account but didn't look before she called.  My husband demanded that they stop calling and then they still called!!!!  I finally was transferred to a supervisor and she assured me that we won't be called anymore.  We'll see if that worked.

Just confirming that this call is, in fact, from WaMu.  Also...To those of you who have complained about people from this company not speaking clear English...With our economy the way it is it might be a good idea to start demanding someone who speaks clear English.  Lets try to bring our call centers back home.

Caller represents they are with Wasthing Mutual, though calls comes up Out of Area, on our business line 4, asking for someone who no longer works for our company.  They call twice a day, which is very annoying and interrupts our business calls.
Have told them everytime, the person they are trying to reach no longer works for our company and to please stop calling.  Although they apologize and say they will not call, they continue to call.  Today, I asked to speak with either a Supervisor or Manager, since they clearly are not believing us when we say the person they are calling for no longer works here.  I was told that neither a Supervisor or Manager was available.  Now, what kind of company would not have either a Supervisor or a Manager available?
A few years back, I recall hearing a news story that it was manditory for a company to have there name along with the phone number show up on Caller ID.  Show, why is this company and other companies getting away with this?

I have been getting these calls 770- 240-0000, 210 247-0026, 201 267-9017, 703 269-0648, 602 358- 0120 from different states, I don't answer them.  But I have been late on payments before and when they are trying to collect from you they leave messages.  I believe these are scam artist trying to retrieve your information. I have searched these numbers online and the first # came up with complaints of WAMU wanting to verify info they should have already and you shouldn't talk to these people. Look it up for yourself.

It has to be WAMU, this has been going on for a week now and always a new number. They call morning, afternoon, evening, and weekends. If I answer there is silence, but twice I spoke to someone who identified themselves as a representative of Washington Mutual. I told them in no uncertain terms that I would NOT give them any information over the phone.
Yes, my payment is late and they have already charged me their ridiculous $39 late fee, so let the b*****ds wait (granted my interest continues to mount) oh well.
Besides all that, I received a letter from them this week and because I was late I guess they freaked out or it was just an opportunity/excuse to lower my credit limit and something else (I threw it away, screw them) as I have stated in other posts, I can't wait to pay this worthless Providian card balance off so I will no longer have to deal with these pathetic losers.
I know what I owe and I know how to pay. They need to stop the sneak attacks with all their different phone numbers. If they continue AFTER I pay up, I am going to report them to more than just this site.

Here are ALL of the numbers I have received so far and every time I get one, I look it up online and this is where I land. Then it gets saved in my cell phone under WAMU, Washington Mutual and is assigned a SILENT ringer ID.

Then all I have to deal with is the annoying MISSED CALL alert.

623-476-0009, 626-534-0250, 619-471-0037, 817-256-9617, 770-240-0000,
210-247-0026, and this one 703-269-0648.

I receive e-mail alerts when my statement is coming due...

And the FUNNY thing is I have yet to receive an E-MAIL ALERT that I am even late with my payment...so do you think the real Providian/WAMU even cares?

Auto-dialed, because it took some seconds for the person to pick up.

Prob. collections, and WaMu is likely, because I just got behind.

As others have written, usually other states come up, but, since I'm located in Va., I picked this one up.

Thanks, all. I must continue to evade them until I file my BK and this info has helped.

This is a Washington Mutual (WaMu) collections department number.  I am currently going through a debt settlement program, so I get calls from them all the time.  They use some kind of autodialer, and use a different number each time.  Here are all the numbers I have for WaMu:

412-595-9025
703-269-0648
763-852-0014
201-267-9017
321-549-3042
509-481-9106
626-534-0250
303-481-0027
623-476-0009
602-358-0120
619-471-0037
210-247-0026
305-384-2104
817-256-9617

They are scum.  The best way to handle them is to remain calm and not let them rattle you, because that is what they want.  Good luck everyone!

Wamu (even tho they are now defunct and lost MILLIONS of dollars in peoples investments) has over 200 'numbers' that the route the calls from India or wherever into the US. Bottom line people: even if you are late, you DO NOT have to take calls from these rude broken english foreign morons. Call Wamu and tell them they can only have AMERICAN reps call you, or that they cant call you at all, only communicate in writing. THis mess is oign gto get MUCH worse before it gets better... llets put come oversees call centers out of business and see how they like not having jobs or being able to pay the bills... maybe we can get hired to call them 25 times a day about late payments...

This is a scam along the same lines as the random phone calls for auto warranty.  It is definitely not WAMU.  I have received these calls before but gave no information.  I turned around and contacted WAMU.  The agent informed that they my account in good status and they had not attempted to contact me.

You have to write them a letter to cease and desist from calling.  Or if you have an account, you can do this online at the contact us area where it is emailed to them.  It takes about 10 days but by then they HAVE to stop or you can sue them for harrassment.

I've gotten calls from this number and at least 10 others, a different one every couple days. they never leave a message and I refuse to answer them. the last time i did, the indian-accented person was very rude and just kept asking for money on behalf of WAMU. I believe all these numbers are similar

These people keep calling and calling morning noon and night.  It's always some Indian a hole that you can barely understand yet they are calling from the US with names like Elvis, Cher and other popular US people.  I had one woman identify herself as Madonna.  I have unfortunately answered the phone once because I have a WaMu card.  They said I owed a payment and I immediately looked at my bank account to see that I already had paid my $40 balance.  It is a scam and these people will call you ALL THE TIME!!! Is there any way to get them to stop?  It's Friday and i already have 6 calls from them at 930 in the morning!!!!
