Debt Collector - ATT

They have been calling me twice a day for a couple of months now. There is a precorded message stating they are collecting the debt of a person I've never heard of. They give several options to press to connect to a live person but none of them is what to press if you AREN'T the person or have never heard of them! So annoying and I refuse to get into a conversation with a debt collector about someone I don't even know.

They kept calling me and finally left a voice mail message.  They claim to be a debt collection agency.  Funny thing is that they had the name of the people who I purchased my home from 12 years ago, with my current home phone number.  I called them back and asked how could they have my current home number and the name of the former owners?  He just said it was an error to to try to have a better day.  What a jerk!

sales call, debt call, online school, or insurance?

Got a call from this "company" on the call ID stated Asset Acceptance.  Debt collector.  I have no debts and am not affilicated with anyone named LARRY RUSSELL.  LARRY RUSSELL, PAY YOU'RE DAMN BILLS, WHOEVER YOU ARE, STOP BEING A SLACKER!!!!  I have reported to Fed DNCL.  And I have blocked their number.  I suggest everyone get a phone that has blocking technology it makes life more pleasureable.  Uniden DECT 6.0 sys is what I have and in today's world of psycho debt collector's, who can't even manage to call the correct people, it is a blessing.  In a way I find it funny, they are spending to much time and effort to collect a debt from the wrong person, and insist on not finding the right person, so clearly they will never collect the debt.  Crazy.   This was not a real person who called, it was a recorded message.

I forgot to add... they are calling her number for me. I don't understand why because I've never used her number for any type of contact information.

My mother in law keeps getting calls on her home phone number from this number. I do not live with her and have never used her number for any type of contact information as I have my own cell phone number. I don't know how or why they keep calling her number? How do I get them to stop?

Does anyone know how to stop these people from calling me? Not sure what debt referring to. Very annoyed!!!!!

Caller did not leave a mesage, again!!

THEY CALL ME 4 OR 5 TIMES A DAY AND I JUST IGNORE THEIR CALLS. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD SHUT THEM DOWN.. CROOKS IS ALL THEY ARE.

Caller ID shows "AssetAcceptance".  I don't answer calls from obvious telemarketers or scammers.  I don't have an answering machine.  They let the phone ring only 3 times before hanging up.  Obviously a robocall.  My credit score is over 800, I check my credit report regularly, and have NEVER had anything sent to collections.  Obviously, I don't owe them anything, so won't enter into a conversation with them.  They will be on my "call blocked" list in a couple of minutes.

When the speaker begins, it's to announce "this is a call for ____ _____."  The name, repeated twice, is garbled and beyond understanding.  Then she goes on to announce it's an attempt to collect a debt.  Then I hang up.  Now that I've added that # to my list of "don't answer" calls, she's toast.

This company called me asking for the wrong person.  The person they asked for have the same the first and last name I have but not the same middle name.  How did they associate that with me.  I sure we don't have the same ssn and d.o.b. and address. If so, that's called identity theft. I don't have any outstanding debts. I never found out why they were calling, I told them that is not my name.

They tell us to hang up if this call isn't received by the person named.  Hung up a lot of times and they call again and again.  No one here by the name they give.

1-703-398-0842  is assetacceptance , A DEBT COLLECTOR. they have an auto caller
which was calling an elderly relative of mine everyday... interrupting their sleep in early
morning hours. the recording was for a name that had same first name initial as a name
in our family. we have our number listed with initial and last name.. they just auto picked
anyone with the same letter i guess and set us up for calls. I dont agree with it either.
Especially since we are not in debt, shouldnt be bothered by a recording you cannot respond
to after listening for quite a while...
but i do have to say that it was easy to take care of:
i called the number back .... a person answered. I explained that the name they were asking
for on their auto caller was not associated with this family.. that we had a relative with the same
initials and the phone is listed with that initial.. i told them we have elderly and ill people in same home needing rest that are being disturbed every day by this auto caller... and asked if they could please
remove their number from their calling list.. gave them area code and entire number.. and they were very nice and said no problem and took care of it.
HONEY GETS YOU FARTHER THAN VINEGAR...
just be confident and slow and very nice.. and explain that you have nothing to do with whomever
they are calling about and that you have totally different names but need to be taken off their list.
Most will just remove you.
But they sure dont ask you to find out if it is the right phone number or even a relative or anything
before they attach to your number...  
supposedly there is supposed to be some "do not call list" that you could put your number in.. and it helped in the past..  is that not working anymore? It came along with a set of rules they had to adhere about calling times .. they cant sell you anything unless you had dealings with them before... solicitors... i dont know about debt collectors and where they fall into the rules... they take us off
when we get on weird lists for people we have never heard of.

just telling you about my experience... we will see if it stays off the list... lol

wrong number... this one is from "3" 98 not "7"98.... so this man you listed has nothing
to do with the collection agency... at least look up relevant information if your going to
attempt to help by adding information to a blog.

They call 3 times a day on the caller Id it says "In Use" for the name followed by the phone number. I dont owe anyone. i answered once and was hung up on..

This place robo calls us every day! Plus they ask for a person/name we don't know.
