I got the call from the agency, the man on the line was a very rode. He said that I still own money to the hospital.  When I asked him whether the collection agency investigate the statement, he said it's not his business to investigate. He said that I do need to pay money immediately.

This is a scam call my brother cell phone I never give out my family number saying I own $111.61 no company name they people are full if s***.

Got a call from Alice Blake at 703-497-5045 for my spouse.  Didn't want to leave a message but had that sense of urgency in her voice making you feel like this is an important call.  Probably a scam.  Had another call last week phishing for the last 4 digits of my social.  Scam!!

I continue to get calls from this number about a medical bill that is over 5 years old for my daughter who was an adult. They called me because I carried the insurance on her but I'm not responsible for her bills but they just keep calling.

Caller asked for someone using my wife's (foreign) maiden name which is known by few people in the US and has not been used for any purpose but telephone listings for more than 40 years.   Now, anyone asking for someone using my wife?s maiden name at our number has already said that they have no idea who they have actually called.  Not knowing who they have called, I think they should feel free to engage in intercourse with themselves.  If these people are in fact debt collectors, as other comments indicate, they are SOOL calling us:  they are owed exactly nothing.   My wife has not been able to read, write or speak clearly for ten years due to strokes, so she did not get into debt on her own.

I received a call from the same number. This person was very rude. Stating my youngest daughter has a bill that I need to pay and to verify my name and date of birth. I said I wasn't giving him my date of birth and who is he and where is he calling from and where is this bill from? He stated I have been receiving mail and to go check my mail box... smh rude

I got a letter from them that was full of nonsense. I called and spoke to Andrew. Andrew talks like he's right out of Deliverance. The company is in Woodbridge, VA, one of the worst neighborhoods in that region.

Just send them a debt validation letter. They buy these debts years late from third and fourth parties, they can not validate them as required by law.

I sent them the letter, got the return receipt back. I then called, and asked for Andrew. I asked him if I could come down and make him squeal like a pig. He was not happy.

Not everyone has money to pay a** hole.

They just called my house asking for my adult son, who does live here. They said his name incorrectly so I wasn't very cooperative at the beginning. Then they knew the street he lived on. But what I don't understand is how they knew this telephone number because my son never uses this number for anything. He has a cell number that is the number he uses for everything. So if it's a legitimate call, they shouldn't have this number.

The man I spoke with never indicated what company he was with. He gave his name as Jay Bond (I doubt that was the company name) and an 800 number. The name on the Caller ID was Utd Consumer.

Called, I answered, hung up on!  How rude!  Called back to find out why people are such do***ebags, asked me for personal information, I replied, you just called me, tell me why you're calling..Hung up on.  Went through 3 phone calls with these people, and I have to say they are the rudest and most inconsiderate people I have ever tried to talk to!

Just got a message on my cell phone, which did not ring, from Jeff Ryan, that I should give him a call at 703-497-5067.  Who is this person or company????

You must work for one of those non honorable collection agencies.  9 times our of 10 they are asking for someone that doesn't live at that telephone.  When they do get the name right the medical bills were paid long ago, but they won't accept that.  You need to get a life and most collection idiots need to get a better job.

Got a call today from them saying I back payments on our mortage. We paid it off over 6 months ago so I know they are a scam

Hmm. What sort of company doesn't leave a message? It's almost as if they're being sneaky (not to mention the fact that most of the family has excellent credit, so it makes little to no sense that all of these so-called collection agencies should start calling the minute we finally get our cable company to come out and repair our phone line). That in and of itself seems unusual--but, for the record:

-Five collection agencies have called in the past two weeks. None of them have left messages. Or, more to the point, one has--United Consumer Inc.

-United Consumer Inc.'s message was just thirty seconds of complete silence.

I think it's safe to say this one's a scam, and that people with legitimate debt should beware. Chances are, the people you actually owe are never going to be notified that you've paid your debt with this company. (Honestly, avoid them altogether and just pay your debt as you can with the company you owe. People like this are a racket and should be illegal.)

Yep.  They keep calling me (white male, 50's) on my cell phone asking for Maria Gonzalez Hernando... etc.  I return the call to the 5067 number, immediately after receiving the call, and get a machine where I explain they have the wrong number.  Doesn't seem to stop them.  The address given by others is correct, although Google Street View shows a wooded field - it seems they are in the building next to that, second floor.  Information from http://www.bizapedia.com/va/UNITED-CONSUMERS-INC.html is below:

I've been receiving calls from this number for about three weeks now.  I never pick up because I do not know anyone who would call me from Virginia.   Today was the first time they left a message and they completely botched my name which made me suspicious.  I Google's the number and it brought me to this page.

They call me everyday and with different phone numbers. They are looking for my ex-wife. I told them her number. Too bad for them she left the country for 3 months....but they still call me and I still press the ignore button.....They use about 5 different number....703...571...1866....

There should be a law....I say this is harassment......

Called in oon this number and left a call back number of 703-497-5024 - said her name was Ann Grey - calling on a matter from ten years ago!  Didn't leave a company name.

I used to live in Woodbridge a few years ago.  Unless things have changed, they are located on Telegraph road in a tiny building across from the IKEA at Potomac Mills Mall.

They called me twice today, and have been calling every few days for a month or so. I don't answer unknown numbers when I'm not expecting a new caller, and they've never left a message. If they really wanted to talk to me they could leave a message.

calls atleast once a day.  no message.  just called back today and they were looking for someone thats not me.  i am on the do not call list, this is a cell phone, and i have reported this number before.

Got a call, first time from this number/person ever. Said he had a personal business matter to discuss with me and needed me to verify my ss# or address. I said that I was unfamiliar with what business it was and didn't give out my ss# before I could give my address at all he said "OK, you're going to take the same stand as the last time we spoke, I'll let them know" I advised him I had never spoken with him and he said "Let me see, oh yes December 2nd of 2010, then tried to say have a nice day again" In early december I was having issues with my cell phone not working so calls coming in were just going to my VM. When I advised him that I definately never spoke with him as the phone wasn't working he said "I see, see now I never told you which number I called on that day so clearly you did" and he tried to hang up again. I advised him that I have the same number I've had for 6 years and its the ONLY number he could have called me on and I told him nice try and hung up. No clue who this might be because all my creditors are in good standing so I'm thinking it was some scam not a debt collector.
