It is a cab service. You'll usually get the call once your cab has arrived.

I got a call from this number 703-516-2173 today, because I had called and requested a cab.

I like Red Top, and I'm sure this is a good feature, but it shouldn't be harassing anybody because of an entry mistake or something.  Maybe some idiot decided to put someone's number in it falsely, to mess with them, like sending the pizza delivery guy or something.

I'm pretty sure now that this is a RED TOP / YELLOW CAB number. After you book a ride on the phone or via the phone app, when the cab gets to your pick up location you get a call from this number saying "cab number something something is waiting outside. If you're coming out within the next few minutes, please press one. If your plans have changed or (...) press 2."
If you're getting unsolicited calls from this number, and you don't have the taxi magic app on your phone so there's no way you could have accidentally booked a cab, then my guess is they have serious technical difficulties. But maybe if you call the company they give you a free ride for your troubles??

Unbelievable. Their system (Taxi Magic) cancels reservation you DO want and calls you at 3 AM for reservations you never made.

I have a call at 12:46 on 01/03/2012 two times. They request to press 1 for the reservation and 2...
When I called this number, it doesn't accept the call.

This is correct. I've used this service in the past, but occasionally get text messages and robo calls randomly. Today I got a message that a cab was dispatched, followed immediately with a message about how I could text for a cab, followed several minutes later by a message about my cab being outside and a robo-call (presumably also about my cab being outside). Needless to say I'm sitting at my desk and didn't call for a cab. Could be a case of their system screwing up, someone using a fake number or entering theirs wrong, or simply a marketing thing to remind you they exist. Annoying? Yes, but I wouldn't take any complaints beyond the internet. This has happened once in the two years since I first started using Red Top Cabs.

It's perfectly legitimate, it's the call back from Red Top Cab in Northern Virginia.  I've only gotten it when I did callf or a cab, and it calls when the cab is pulling up to pick me up.  I think some of you are imagining things, or forgetting that you called for a cab.

Got a call 7 am in the mroning saying "press 1 to confirm reservation, press 2 to cancel" and then got diconnected automatically.  Reservation for what??. When I called back, I keep getting a machine which loops.

I Just got one on my cell phone and thanks to you all posting the number of the Cab company, I too put my number into the supervisor.

Called and let them know it wasn't me, turns out the cab is for someone from where I have been picked up before, maybe this happens when someone types in the location and the recent clients come up, or something...

Regardless, I tried.  They've always been good, if you're really having a problem with them call your cell company and get the number blocked.  Not the end of the world.

I got the same kind of call.. and when you call back it is just an answering system asking for the extension of the person you want to reach.   "Phone Spam" I guess

i get this phone call about twice a week at about 830am. i have no idea what it is about. if you try calling it today it has a full mailbox...also it is my cell that it calls - i don't really ever give out my cell number.

Who ever it is.. called 8 times in a row.

I got woken up at 1:21am by whatever the heck this is.

I suspect it is AT&T - this number called me on a Sat night at 7 pm on my home number, then it called me on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.

My cell phone listed an AT&T browser message.

Got one at 6 in the morning again. 2 calls back to back 703 component was the same. :( I had to wake up at 7 so it spoiled my last hour of sleep.
