Encore called several disinterested parties in my case, divulging private financial information ON VOICEMAIL!

Their calls to me and other parties broke both state and federal laws.

That put an immediate stop to the harassment and illegal activities of these "Gestapo tactic" debt collectors. If more people take a stand, it will eventually have to stop.

Just keeps calling, never leaves a message, but call several times in one day. Caller ID says they are ERMI, so who is this?

This number keeps calling me and never leaves a message

Just received a call from (703) 656-9961 with Caller ID: "NCO FINCL" but no voice mail message was left. This is the third call this month from what seems to be the same company (with different phone numbers): NCO FINANCIAL SERVICES.

I have been logging all the phone calls that leave no voice mail messages for the past three months. The other phone numbers that called this month are: (443) 205-1058 with Caller ID: "NCO FINCL SVCS" and (240) 210-7153 with Caller ID: "NCO"

I keep getting calls from 703-656-9961.
I do NOT owe them money and they keep calling.
I would like to report them as a herasement call
because telemarketers are not to call this phone #.

I received a phone call,at 3pm at my place of Employment today,from this Company.  They stated that they were Encore Receivables Management.  They are offering a debt settlement to me which seems way too good to be true.  They asked me to do a check over the phone today, that would be drafted on the 3oth of August, 2008, as well as another one which would be drafted on the 15th of September- to settle my account in full.  I was unwilling to give out my personal banking account information and asked that they verify who they were by sending me a fax and introducing themselves ON COMPANY LETTERHEAD.  The woman I spoke with ( I will not mention her name- but I do have hers as well as two others whom I spoke with over a period of 7 hours), said that she was unable to do that.  I told her that I was not comfortable with giving out my personal information to a voice over the phone.  She put me on hold and then came back saying that I would need to fax over a request for a letter from them in writing that would outline my settlement offer.  Idi just that...on a plain fax cover sheet with no identifiable information to me or the Company which I was with (because I was at work).  In my letter I asked that they include my originating creditor account number as well as the account number that GEMB had for me because they were the bank behind the original creditor, and also any account numbers and/or case numbers in which I am identifiable through their Company (ERMI).  I reiterated the offer which had been presented to me in the letter as well as the answers I had been given when asking how this settlement offer would appear on my credit report.  I stated the time I received the call from them and asked them to include all the verbiage of the fax correspondence being sent over as well as all the information I was requesting, stating at that point when I received the written aggrement offer signed by this particular person and/or their supervisor- I would call with my payment.  I waited an hour and a half after work for that fax to come in- it didn't by that time.  I thought I'd call the number back to make sure that I had taken proper notes as to what the recording said before connecting you to an actual person.  It was 9:50pm when I made that call and was transferred between 2 different people.  I explained that I was given the wrong fax number in the first conversation I had with one of the reps, then given a new fax number (after being hung up on by a different rep while trying to explain what had happened) from an entirely different person who said she would call me in a few minutes after receiving the fax that I sent at 4:18pm.  So I left work at 6:30pm without receiving that phone call.  At 10:19pm, a call that took place at 9:50pm took 1/2 hour of sitting on hold, and occasional Hello's and "are you there's" and verifying the fax number that was written on the generic fax cover sheet sent with the letter at 4:18pm earlier that day, which had also been verified with a different rep at the time it was sent.  The call ended with "It's being faxed right now" a lot of good that does me when I'm not there to get it!  She said that I would have until Monday to get the offer and payment to them.  What scares me more is that the three people that I spoke with the most gave me three different sequences of the same last four numbers to their fax number I can't figure out if they are all suffering from dyxlexia or just trying to confuse me (or worse yet DEFRAUD me).  I will go over that letter tomorrow with a fine tooth comb and hopefully come to a conclusion as to the legitimacy of this offer or even this Company...but after reading all of these other posts- I'm quite worried.

This Virginia number is calling me since a few days.
About 2 to 3 times a day.

The calls are endless beginning at 8 am on into the eve,total harrassment

Calls up to 11:30 pm never will leave a message, just keeps showing up, will nerver take that call,  what about the do not call list?

Even for office number they are calling. if we try to call back, it will never connects.

We have been recieving this 703-656-9961, for almost 2 mo. They call anytime of the day. I have an ID caller and that number shows up saying ERMI. Finally on 30 Mar 2008, I answer the phone. They ask for my husband, I said, may I take a message this is his wife. All the sudden a man starts to quote my address and ask if this is correct. I respond and said, may I ask what this is pertaining to. He said, so this is correct, is such and such zip correct. Again I ask what this is pertaining to and no respond. So I hung up.

They begin to call about 8 am and they call several times a day until after 9pm. I just answered the phone and got a message that said," Please hold on. I'll be with you momentarily." I waited for over 20 minutes just to see if anyone would come on the line but nobody did. Quite annoying!

We started getting calls last fall starting at 8:00am and continuing all day long, every two hours, until 9PM including weekends and holidays. We answer the phone and no one there. We finally got a caller ID box and unplugged the phone so we could figure out who was calling and not listen to the phone ring off the wall.
Now we see ERMI every day, all day. Sometimes a different number appears on the screen but is still a (703)656-xxxx so we know it's this same company.
We did't know who they were until I just came onto Google and found this site but still don't know why they are calling us.
From this point on we will keep track of all calls received and refer them to Mr. Stern's office. We hope this can put an end to the harrassment.

these people must call at least 5 times a day, they appear on my caller id endlessly and then it says hold for a message, the get on the phone, i ask to speak to a supervisor, they keep calling unrelentling,never leaving a message, half the time they dont collect to someone when i hold.  I told them they were in violation of the fair debt collection practices. What can we do?

Fleabag debt collectors. They called me all day and into the night and either hung up, or there was no one the line. If you tell them not to call anymore they MUST stop. If that doesn't work send a letter to: Encore Receivable Management Inc. -- ERMI -- 400 N. Rogers Road, Olathe KS 66062 with proof of delivery. If they still persist report them to the FDCPA and FTC. I did and voila no more calls. Most of the calls originate from Manassas VA and they use several different numbers. The "manager's" name is Ben. They are usually trying to collect for GE Money Bank. Try filing a complaint with GE informing they will also be named to the FDCPA and FTC.

They have called me 5x within 24hrs.  One time I waited on the phone and told the man to stop calling he just hung up on me. Does anyone know how to stop them from calling?????

They have called twice today and I'm sick of it! They call every day and I don't owe any back bills to anyone!

Several calls each day from automated system with an {English?} accent.
Once we decided to stay on the line and try to speak to somebody about this, but after 15 minutes, we just hung up. Most recent call was just a few minutes ago.

Encore Receivable Management has been calling us every day for the past 10 days. Sometimes when we answer they do not respond, only silence. The few times they did respond they said they were looking for a particular person. We told them that person is unknown to us but they still call. We asked them to stop calling us but it continues to happen.

it's 10:55 AM, this is the second time today this number called me, caller ID says ERMI, they also called yesterday, I'll just cut my ringer off-they can keep calling if they want to but I'll never answer my phone.

Received 3 calls.  Stating we owe a debt we never had.

They call for someone who does not live here ( a name which I do not recognize).  I've called the number back and noone answers, just a wait and a message "please hold.  Your call is important to us.  A representative will be with you in a moment."  Quite annoying .  They call twice a day.

This number claims to be debt collector.  Left No message but I called back due to concern about identity theft. Said he was looking for Darlene H. He told me he was calling from Canada.  Seems he lied to me- The phone number and prefix are from Manassas, Virginia

calls everyday sometimes several times a day. they called atleast 6 times today. at 08:12am no message, i turned off my phone so I could sleep because i work nights. when i turned it back on. 18:31,19:12,19:32,19:58 and never left a message. then @ 20:08 they called and left "will be used for that purpose please call us today at 877 803 8009" i assume that the first part got cut off before my message started recording seeing as it is an automated recording. and the 877 803 8009 call back has called me constantly also.
