The DNC list is like the lock on your front door - it only protects you from honest people. So don't get mad - get even. Report them - harass them back if that is your style. Or just ignore them.

Political, charity, surveys, and bill collectors are exempt from DNC lists. I like that FBI line - I just tried this...

My rule: No message, It's not important.  

If you know who calls, if you want to bother, you can also e-mail them (I use a nom-de-plume account) and write them and tell/ warn them that they have been officially informed not to call, gift, give or sell my number or I will take legal action for harassment. Though I suppose if they have your number they can find out who you are if you are listed. If it wasn't necessary I would have an unlisted number.

Had many call, but I never pick up the phone, because I don't know the caller.

Received one of these calls this pm. She pronouced my last name wrong; so, I told her "there's no one here by that name," then hung up.

Came up as Alexandria, VA.  No msg left.

The person asked "Can I have your name?" and when I replied "Why, don't you have like yours?" they hung up. This can be fun with the right attitude.

Total complete SCUM!  Caller ID reads Unknown Name. He/she/it calls all the time.... never leaves a message. Reading the comments above it is obviously a SCUMBAG.  Death to the SCUMBAGS!

Called today, 3/2/2012, at 11:10 am.  Asked for my husband by name.  I asked who was calling and she said she'd call back and hung up without answering my question.  We're on the do not call list, too!

Oh, the national Pro-Fetus organization?  Pro-life?  LOL  Only before birth.

Why be on the National DO NOT CALL List?  I don't want to be bugged day after day night after night by your call attempts.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, so I won't be calling you back.  You shouldn't be calling in the first place.  My number has been on the DNC for YEARS.

You are correct in that non-profit and government affiliated organizations are exempt from the DNC lists.....  I do wonder where the SuperPAC organizations fall within this definition tho.......

Calls everyday around 10 am..Arlington, Va.... have caller block on our phones so have blocked the number..rings onces, goes to busy and then hangs up on the caller....phone ringing once is annoying, but at least it hangs up on the caller

A person from this number (703.740.8621) calls at all hours of the day asking for my wife.When I say she is not available the caller hangs up with no message, when I let the machine answer no message is left. It is very annoying that the calls continue but they are not important enough to leave a message. The blogs seem to suggest the calls a for a pro-life survey.
