They actually are a real company & accredited. They got me a position with UPS for 13.00/h. First interview was with actual client of theirs, UPS manager & then his boss requested second interview. So, they are very legit which I found upon researching them & not reading reviews that are factless. They do have an actual website with credentials.

Asking last 5 digits of SSN and DOB is a Normal process to submit the candidate's resume on the client portal for different clients. As these details are used to create unique profile ID on the client portal for each and every candidate. Hence its completely safe to share these information if you have the complete details of the company for which you are applying and the staffing company who is submitting your resume for the job. And its foolishness to think that these staffing companies will use these details for identity theft, by putting their good will at stake.

Yeah I've had the same experience!! They asked for tons of personal, banking and financial information and I refused to give it to them. They have asked me for 7 yrs of both Federal and State IRS tax returns, all my direct deposit bank info where my paychecks have been deposited for the past 7 yrs, all my I9's and all I9 supporting documents (which include personal information), W2's, W4's, all my pay stubs from 7 yrs of jobs, all my employee information sheets from every employer (which again include personal info), all my offer letters from all my jobs, and employee agreements with every employer.  This is insane!! I have NEVER been asked for any of that by ANY recruiter or employer!! This is VERY suspicious!!!! I'm starting to think that this whole thing is a big SCAM to get financial and identity info from me and to sell it to others! And when I ask any questions, all they do is get evasive and refuse to give me any info. Even the lab for the drug test - they REFUSE to give me the name of the lab and just sent me some sleazy address with an apt number! Also, they have called me repeatedly AT WORK up to 20 times a day even tho I have told them NOT TO (Mahima called me 17 TIMES IN ONE DAY AT WORK last week!!!) and keep asking me the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over again!!!!!! This is HARASSMENT plain and simple!!!!!

Got a call from 7038896808 Lance soft after I gave them my number in response to their email. Same thing, DOB and last 5 of SSN, told them I am uncomfortable sharing that info over the phone, he asked me if I would be willing to share it over email, I said I'm uncomfortable sharing it period, unless I am entering it myself on a company website or in front of an employer. I guess I won't get hired now, but at least there's less risk for an identity theft happening to me!

Survey
I also received a call from a woman named Asha, Lancesoft jobs, tele # 703-889-6819, heavy accent, said she represented BMW on first call.  Asked for my info and DOB, which I unfortunately gave since several legitimate sites and employment agencies as well as companies are now asking for this info?  I know it was outlawed, but thought it was to make sure I wasn't a minor!  Believe me, I know better now!
Anyway, she called me a couple of days later saying BMW wanted to fill a different position, not one I'd be interested in, but Mercedes Benz needs someone and again she asked for my DOB, which I felt she already had so what more damage can she do.  I did not give my SS#.  She said she would get back to me
but never did.
Today, I received a call from WN Positions, name unknown, saying I completed an online survey for a job and he needed additional info to see where I would fit in.  I said I didn't remember and I asked him what survey and who he represents but he didn't tell me but kept asking me questions; am I a citizen or legally able to work in the US, etc and I didn't tell him, but again asked who he represented.  There was silence on his end and I just hung up.

I received a call a few moments ago from 703-889-6838 that matched the description of everyone else...thick indian accent, from Herndon, VA.  Claimed to work for lancesoft.  Email from Arpana Ahluwalia (ArpanaA@lancesoft.com) about a potential opportunity at Unisys.  I have not had enough professional experience to be wanted as badly as she made it seem to fill this position.  Very fishy...bad feeling about it.  She was very pushy with wanting me to get to a computer immediately...I told her several times that I was a custodian working outdoors, and she said I could check my email using my smartphone...I told her I didn't have one.  Probably a bad idea.  B****oles!

Submitted my resume to this company for a position at a local call center. Got woken up to a call from them offering an interview, but was told that I would be more qualified for this position if I had a bank account and that he wanted me to go open a bank account today and fax him the bank acct info. This was BEFORE I was even offered a position. Uhm. No thanks.

Late this evening I received a call from someone at LanceSoft.  I had applied for jobs within CareerBuilder and I was also asked for my address, phone number and email address.  I told him that it should be listed on the resume, if he has it in front of him as he said.  He also asked for my birth month & year.  Now, he asked for the last four of my s.s.#, I did say that I don't give out that info unless I'm in front of you....  all because I've had several attempts at people trying to steal my identity.

This is a recruiting company that services contingent workers to several fortune 500 companies. They have won several awards and many companies use birthdays/4 digit SSNs etc as tracking identifiers in recruiting software per the request of the client company they service. And stop being racist, it's 2012.

Just got a Voice message from a woman with a very heavy accent, without caller ID I would have no idea what the call back number is and I am still not sure of what her name is. It is 703-889-6736 and comes up as LanceSoft on my caller ID. Googled their web site and it says absolutely nothing about what they actually do. If they call back, I'm just going to say no thank you and I suggest you do the same. Very fishy web site with no actual information. Please be warned and do not ever give out your SS Number, Mother's Maiden name or Birthday to anyone on-line or on the phone.
Thank you all for the Scam heads up as that is the 2nd thing I look for when looking up any company and y'all should do the same
Thanks

I got this call today. They didn't say a company and didn't make much sense in my opinion. I also got an email with very vague information about a position and I just deleted it. I don't ever have to submit anything to a recruiting agency in the beginning but a resume. I have been on interviews set up by recruiters with just giving them my resume. NEVER GIVE A SOCIAL.

I just got the same call...two years later than the date on this post.  Same Indian accent and same bs.
I thought it was strange and they claimed to be offering a position with Verizon.  I spoke with him until he asked for SS#- last five digits and birthday.  I have spoken with many corporate recruiters and have never had someone with a heavy foreign dialect represent them.  Really?

Sounds like a SCAM.  Don't give your SSN#!  Even a partial one.  They called with a job offer and after going through all the regular info such as resume they asked me for my DOB. Just the month and day, not year.  I thought that was weird but whatever.  But after we went over my resume for 15 minutes they said they will submit me for the job but needed the last 5 digits of my SSN.  This is when I realized they are probably doing identity theft, and I hung up.  5 mins later, another guy, with a thick Indian accent called, claiming to be the "account manager", and tried to convince me to give him the last 5 of my SSN so that he can submit my resume to an "online portal". Apparently they can't do this without a partial SSN.  I call bu***hit.  No legit company asks for your SSN until after you get an offer and you fill out the paperwork in their office.

This company is called LanceSoft.  But when I asked them if they are ArcSoft they said yes. Very shady and pushy.  Don't even waste your time.
