The phone call is from "American Veterans Support Foundation" - Is American Veterans Support Foundation real or fake?
From what I've read, the American Veterans Support Foundation only contributed 14% of the $4.3MM they received last year in contributions. I'm 100% for supporting our great veterans, but from a 501(c)(3) organization designated this as "operating expenses."...

Call from 7039918695.   No voice when I answered, caller id says,  Vienna, GA

Caller ID registered  VIENNA VA and 703-991-8695. They called my do not call listed landline and hung up when the machine started.

ours always says McLean, VA.

Call from American Veterans Association (?) asking for monetary support. This is a scam.

I got a call from this number, display shows Vienna, VA.   They never left a message. Not sure who it is!

received a missed call from this number (703-991-8695) on 4/26/14 @ 6:16pm...name appeared as Unknown name... roommate called the number back this afternoon and it was a recording stating "hours of operation.. if you want to be added to the do not call list; please leave a detailed msg"... I called the number back & stated if they call the house again (only left my phone number) that I would report them to the police... no company name provided on the voicemail

That's why it's so helpful if someone who takes the trouble to call them back finds out who they are and lets the rest of us know.  I don't have any debts so I know it's not a bill collector but probably a telemarketer or other bottomfeeder. I keep a list of all the numbers from my caller ID and who they are for future reference.  That's how I found out that two were collection agercies and I sent them letters saying we have had this phone number since 2007 but we're nonpublished so whoever they're after isn't us, and they stopped calling.

I received a call from,703-991-8695 at 6:25 PM.  I let it go to answering machine - they left no message.
No specific indication of what state it came from - just a long list of numbers preceded by the letter "V"  (Virginia?)

They didn't say who they were?

Called today. Recalled them. Asked to be put on their do not call list. Indicated that they would. We shall see.

04/24/14, 6:43pm. Caller ID said Vienna VA. I didn't recognize the ID and know no one in Virginia, so didn't pick up. They left no message when answering machine kicked in. I blocked the number and reported the call to the FTC (888-382-1222).

called landline @6:52 pm pacific time, left no message when answering machine would have kicked in.  They are starting all our numbers once again.

They called at 6:30 PM on 4/24/14 they left no message when the answering machine kicked in.

They called our landline at 5:50 p.m. on April 23, 2014. We didn't answer and they left no message.

Received a call at 2:30 on 4-24-14.  Name on caller ID said Vienna.

Received a call at 6:57pm 4/22/14.  Looks like they called me shortly after their call to SE Wisconsin.  

Came up as Virginia Call on my phone.

Rec'd call from this number.  Called it back this morning at 9:47 am, got message that the hours was between 9 and 5.  

703-991-8695 called on 04/22/2014 at 6:35PM, name caller ID was "Unavailable" and call was blocked by our PhoneTray software.

Twice at our house today- I can find NO info on this number!
