Many have tried and all have failed to kill the enemy that lives inside a computer chip.  Its hard to believe that the eggheads in the electronics industry are outsmarted by jerks nerds and crooks, foreign and domestic. The answer is to write a letter, listen to the radio, read a book.  Throw your phone away, stow your computer and turn off your tv.  It lovely, try it.

when I get a call from this number and answer it just says goodbye  could this be part of the government checking on us?   Or someone wanting to know if we are home?

Same here. I received several phone calls from 704-059-4744 with "Name Unavailable". There is no message and I am unable to find the number in a reverse phone number search on Whitepages.com

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system.. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!

I am on the Do Not Call List, which makes no difference whatsoever!  IF our government has assigned personnel to this department, I can assure you they aren't doing their job!  I get at least 5 to 7 calls per day.  One that repeatedly calls has "1" as the caller ID name and no number.  I've even answered some of these calls to give them a piece of my mind, but it's an automated caller, so there's nothing you can do about it.

One particular irritating and offensive call was a sales call (forget what they were selling) but, I called the # back and explained that I was on the Do Not Call List and I would appreciate them not calling any more.  Instead of agreeing not to call again, I was cursed out.  She said they would continue calling and harrassing me and there was nothing I could do about it.   I then asked for her supervisor's name and she spelled it out F * * K You.  I was so angry at this caller that I immediately filed a complaint with the Do Not Cal Service, then I did a reverse look up on the White Pages.  Then I called the Sheriff's office in that particular town.  He said that there wasn't a phone # with that prefix there.  Then, one of the other deputies spoke up that he actually drove to that house to serve them after a friend of his received the same type of call, but there wasn't a street # that matched.  He explained that these crooks get by with doing anything for that reason.  They list a false address on the phone # they acquire, so there's no way to file criminal charges against them.  Sad that our government doesn't stay ahead of criminals like that.

This number called on May 10, 2013 at 12:34 p.m.  My caller ID said "Name Unavailable" so of course I would NEVER answer.  Thanks for taking the time to let us know about these scammers.  They left no message on tthe answering machine.  I will let other friends know of these bogus dudes.

I wish there were some way to block calls on your cell phone.  Would love to know who these jerks are.

I have received multiple calls from this number over the last month.  I never answer and there is never a message.  Don't know what the scam is, but feel pretty confident there is one.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone this morning  about 9:30.  Call back after blocking my caller ID and got a message that the number was 'No longer in Service'  These thieves, crooks, SOB's use this type of calling to get personal information, to find out if the number they dial is active so they can sell it to other crooks that want to take advantage of any weakness someone might have, to gather data on age, sex, etc. I suggest, an can only hope that they wind up in H E L L with a phone ringing in their ears for eternity.

I have gotten calls from this number (704-059-4744) for the past couple weeks and when I see I have a miss call I notice that there is never a message left.  But when I call it back it say that the number has been disconnect or is no longer in service or has been changed to a non published number.

This number called my cell today @ 3:45, and I didn't answer, and they did not leave a message.  (Have my phone on vibrate while @ work!)
