I got a call yesterday and to day  from this number  have no idea who it is but they hung up both times

I just recieved a call from 704-307-4981..saying that my name has been picked for a 25k sweepstakes..I told her my husband is a police officer so if the call is not legit she should say goodbye now..she had a foreign accent and got a bit flustered.she kept asking my birthdate..she said she was calling from Montreal...I called all my credit card companies to alert them...she knew my name??!!

they keep calling my cell phone, 2x today. I dont answer cause i am deaf but it bugs me they are even calling my cell.

Just got a call from this number moments ago stating I was or will be entered in a draw for 25,000 dollars with a publisher something she was very hard to understand asked for the year of my birth and I said I don't give that out she hung up the strange part about it tho she knew my name but the thing is in the phone book its not under my first name so pls beware

they just called me ......please hang up immediately......they are trouble!!!!!

I've been getting calls from this number but never answered before today- it was a Filipino woman and she asked for me by name- called my home number but I said it was a wrong number and asked to have my number removed from their list.  I get tons of these calls and it's really annoying.  I had a dispute with Rogers over a cell phone bill and they turned it over to collections- since then my phone rings non-stop with these calls.  I do believe they are the ones that sold my number.  I was getting calls from 3 different numbers all just minutes apart- I told them all off on Monday and so far they have not called back.  
I got a new cell number on Saturday that no one knows except for my kid's school and already I am getting a call from a 1-800 number- most of these things are on auto dial- that's why no one answers when you say hello- it takes a few seconds for an actual person to come on the line, sometimes it disconnects by it's self too.  I got a good phone that can block numbers but it still rings once then gives them a busy signal and hangs up on them.

2nd time this week got a call from this number on my cell phone.  I did not answer

I just rec'd a call from this # to my cell. I didn't pick up. Said from NC. I won't pick up unrecognized #'s.  No message left. Unreal. I've changed my phone # 3 times because of spam calls. Getting really sick of this.

Received a call today - didn't answer it - I don't know anyone in NC and if it were important they would leave a message.  Sheesh - hate telemarketers and scam artists.

I just received my second call from this number...the first time I just hung up when the philippino sounding woman started talking because I assumed it was some sort of telemarketing.  I just received the second call and same woman congratulated me as my name is entered into sweepstakes to win $25K and she just needed info from me to validate my entry.  I immediately stopped her and asked how my name was entered and she said through my credit card but she also mentioned a subscription.  Anyway she wanted me to tell her the year I was born to which I said I was not comfortable sharing over the phone but they could mail me a form that I would complete.  She didn't get it and asked again so I immediately was upset so she thanked me and I hung up.
I can't believe that my credit card companies are able to sell my number to these telemarketers.  It's bad enough they sell our addresses but our cell numbers too!

I get the same thing.I answer & they hang up.I live 3 hours North of Toronto.

Received a call at 12:15 pm Feb 26 2013. Did not answer and the caller did not leave a message.

This same number called me on my cell phone and told me I won a Disney World Vacation. I didnt believe them so I hung up!

i do not want magazines.... they had all my info.

Received a call today on my home phone number which I had NOT listed and they knew my name.  I could barely hear her as she said I won $25000. I told her that I did not enter anything and I don't discuss anything like this over the phone, and she should mail me something.

I also just received a call from this number.. Was a guy named Eric. he asked for me specifically. I told him he had the wrong number he hung up pretty quick. I too am on a cell that is listed on the DNC list and not listed anywhere. Would love to know how these people are getting our cell numbers.

I live about an hour west of Toronto and have been getting calls from this #. I do not answer.

I received 2 calls from the same number.  both were sent to my cell.  when I tried to call the number back all I get is a strange busy signal. how did they get my cell number.

They called 6 times today while I was at work! As usual, no message was left. I too, don't know anyone in North Carolina. I live in Ontario.

I get a call from 704-307-4981, from Charlotte, NC., many times a day for many months now.  I am dealing with a health issue, I won't answer anymore as I am outside Toronto and this is mega long distance on my cell phone.  I am with Rogers, they say I can't block the number,  I can only turn my phone off.  Right and if I need help or someone is trying to call me say a Doctor, what then?

Also signed up on Facebook to receive some free baby products samples....
A few days later I was bombarded with phone calls from this number and also private numbers.

I did answer the call from the number 704-307-4981.....it was an Indian woman who knew my name but couldn't pronounce it well....Apparently I was the winner of 25000$ ....Yeah right!!   Just told her not to call back my house again and she hung up on me.

just hung up...typed in the number and scanned the comments.  Suspected it was spam

They called me just now... I never answer numbers I don't know.

I've been reading these messages and I got a call from that exact number 1-705-307-4981 Yesterday Feb,12 and they caught me .... I STUPIDLY gave them my visa number WRONG IDEA .... They took out $59.41 not 2 min after they hung up.
They had the same speech, but they said they were from Readers Digest, ( which I had previous thought signing up for the Sweepstakes was harmless.... ) they had my billing address, my name, they told me I was getting a Diamond Watch in the mail, and that I was entered into a $50,000 Draw that's taking place on June 30th, 2013.
The person who I first spoke to was a middle Eastern sounding younger male, who didn't EXPLAIN properly what this was all about, then he said he needed to transfer me to his supervisor,  which ended up being this female,  who spoke really fast and told me I get three magazines free for 24 months, and that I wouldn't have to pay absolutely Nothing till the FREE 24 months was up. She then asked to confirm my Visa number for the registration process and that my Visa wouldn't be charged tillbthe end of my 24 free months subscription. Then she told me  really fast and didn't make sense about how you couldnt get a refund, and that she wishes me good luck on the draw, and that my watch was going to be mailed within 3 Days. Then she hung up. And my card was charged.

Today I notified my bank of Fraud and changed my whole account to stop and possible further withdrawals.
This is a Huge SCAM and these people are most likely getting our information from the Internet,  through Sweepstakes,  online shopping sites, etc..... This is crazy... You can not trust the Internet anymore.
I'm soo ashamed I let them do that to me..... And I just lost $60 for not being CAUTIOUS about WHO they were and identifying them before giving my information...... I definitely learned my lesson.

They called for me at my work.  Heavy accented voice, almost to the point they could not be understood.  Said they are John from "The Redemption Center" and leaves a number to call them.  800-944-8424.
