Same 704 return call number. Same name E Childs....but they called from 804-381-0773, to my kid's phone.  I called the 804 number back and a man answered saying this was an arbitration line.  He had the last 4 digits of my social, and said that I had to verify it before he could give me any info, and that the call was recorded.  I verified it and he said it was a defaulted payday loan with a returned check.  I think this was defaulted over 10 years ago, and have not received any correspondence about this issue.  The bank is no longer in business now.  And I, just like someone listed above, have filed bankruptcy.  When I think about it, he was talking kind fast and sounded like he was reading me my rights...anything you say, can and will be used against you in court.  And that they have started legal proceedings.  I asked him for information including his name, because I was would have my lawyer give them a call.  The man would not give me his name and hung up on me.

I got the same call but from 2144840016 saing I had a payday loan and they were going to sue me from an account from 2005. I didn't recall told them they could contact my lawyer they replied we don't talk to third partys. They said I would recive a supena in 72 hours if I didn't pay it is a scam  don't pay

Ok people!  Wake up and smell the SCAM!!!!  i get these calls all the time and from different names and #'s with the same blah blah blah message!  it is so annoying, but i just never answer my phone.  The really bad thing about all this is that they are calling my work phone # which really pisses me off!  Anyways, to see how much i am harrassaed.  See my list, i have been keeping track!  It is just way to funny.  I can not believe i have this many different loans out that I owe money to!!!! HAHHAHAA>..what a joke!

Is there any action to take if you have provided information to pay on the supposed debt?  I think that I have been scammed and I am unaware of how to handle this now.

Received a call on my cell from 830-584-1339.  Left a message for Lauren Ina (not me) that a returned item attached to her name and social security number had been found.  Instructions that it would be in her best interest to call Elizabeth Childs at 704-412-5676.  

i just received a recorded voice message from number 704-412-5676 Elizabeth Childs.. i have been scamed before so i googled the number.. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE

Got a call from these people for someone I've never even heard of. The number that showed on the caller ID was from Florence, SC (843-536-4706). The message said "Hello. This call is intended for X X. This is Elizabeth Childs. I am a consumer fraud investigator. A returned item has been attached to your name and social security number. It is in your best interest to return my call at 704-412-5676." (not a SC number)
So, I did an internet search of the number... the results led me to call them back just to see what would happen...
1st call- Man refused to tell me what company he was with, told me I HAD to call back with my number unblocked before he would tell me what company he was with. After several more attempts to get his name and company name, I told him I would simply report the number for harassment, at which point he threatened to sue me in court.
2nd call- Asked women her name and company name, she kept asking me who I was and my phone number to which I replied that they had called me and I didn't give my information to strangers. She hung up.
Call #3- Woman answered with the name "Patricia". I asked the company name- she said PDR. I asked her name again several times, and when she finally responded, her name had oddly changed to "Terri". I explained the course of the previous two calls, and reminded her that if they were a collection agency they were in violation of SEVERAL Fair Debt Collection Act articles. She told me she had nothing to do with what others did, and pretended to transfer me to a manager. I hung up.
Call #4- Oh, this one was so fun! I asked three times for the name- Kim. After several more request for the company name (after arguing about me not giving them my name/number) she replied "PDO"  and then later in the conversation it changed to "PDL". Kept being a smart A@@ (just like all the rest" and kept asking me "what I didn't understand". Continually refused to tell me the nature of her call.
Point is- this is a collection agency for payday loans. They have been reported over and over and over. They are verbally abusive without provocation, they are smart a$$es, they repeatedly violate the Fair Debt Collection Act. If this number shows up- RECORD THE CALL AND KEEP THE MESSAGES FROM THEM!!  Then, turn around and report their butts!
Did I mention that I recorded the last three calls?! :-)

Just received the same call and the same stuff something is attached by my husbands social and they had his  name and left a number n I called it back but hung up to do some research.. Than after reading all of this it hit me this must be the same ones that have been calling here asking for my husbands ex girlfriends son who also has the same Name as our Son but different middle name . When I have tried to explain its not our son , it's a ex girlfriend and we have no clue or connection they said they have Agents and police in the area to come arrest him .. I said come on bring it on .. You won't find anyone here .. I than hung up she Called back and I let it go to voice mail.. This place is crazy and they need to be shut down.. Lastly, How they got my Cell phone number attached to my husband and HIS ex's Girlfriends son is crazy stuff .. When it's not even the same last name on the account as my husbands..

this number called me and said they had a summons for me well they are in north Carolina and im in tx I called them back and they got nasty it seems they don't like it when you call them repeatedly give them their own medicine and they will stop

These people try and intimidate you by telling you they are going to sue you and having that process entice you to pay when they KNOW they will loose in court because the debt is statued out. However if you make a payment on the debt or acknowledge the debt is yours and you do owe the money the clock starts again. They are recording every word. WHATEVER YOU DO IN YOUR LIFE DO NOT MAKE A PAYMENT ON A DEBT THAT HAS RUN OUT OF DATE PER YOUR STATE. If you do even one dollar the time starts over. These people try and engage you on the phone and talk to you so that you will say something to reage the debt. Do not engage them in conversation...IT IS A TRAP. As soon as I told Milisa the debt was SOL its like she just gave up!!!  They know they will loose. Just deal in facts not your feelings or philisophical stuff. Dont get angry or upset. This is what they want....they feed on it and it gives them control. Realize when the conversation is over and say goodbye. Research debt collection and learn the rules. Ask for a copy of the original contract, date of last payment, and details of the last payment in a letter return receipt requested. Do not get all worked up about typing it and all that just write itout, copy it, sign it, and send it. Just be carefull what you say. Tell them you do not acknowledge the debt but you want information. Jason at this number told me " we dont have it." Even if they take you to court, do not be afraid of this, they will loose once you produce documents indicating SOL every time unless they can get you to make a payment or verbally acknoledge the debt. You need to research what documents to bring or ask a lawyer. Dont be stupid and pay ancient debts. These people think you are scum, and they will do ANYTHING to get you to fall in a trap. Dont believe anything they say. It only matters what they send in the mail not what they say.

I just got the same call. Let me fill some of you in. These companies buy huge lists of people that have very old debt. They might buy a list of 300,000 names with a total of 10m in debt for say $50,000. They then go to work trying to collect from them. I settled a debt about 10 years ago and have the letter but I love messing with them anyway. This one sounds like it will be fun from what I read here. They are basically looking for people who scare easily. If they bought your 10 year old 10k debt for $3 anything they get is great. The thing about these people is they know they can tell you anything on the phone. You MUST not get emotionally charged on the phone because they feed on that. If you want to make them crazy stay calm. Let them motor mouth and interrupt but be polite. Do not talk to them long or they may trip you up to say something that WILL give them a legit debt. They record conversations and will review them later. If you admit you owe the debt they will take you to court with a typed transcript. I dont know for certain but suspect that these companies are connected to people who are involved in identity theft. I dont think they do it themselves but they probably broker the information. There are people who will buy your ss number, mothers maiden name, bank account number etc. to use and broker to others. Here are the rules for these people:

1: NEVER ADMIT YOU OWN THE DEBT. Admitting you owe the debt can make it so you do owe the debt in the eyes of the law. Tell them you don?t remember it and ask them to send you a copy of the paperwork they have from the company. The ORIGINAL credit card agreement, the paperwork you signed, a statement from the company. They are probably not going to have this and if they don?t it is not lajit. To many of these companies you are a name on a list. They probably don?t even really own the debt. They will just try and get you to pay. You will be paying someone who does not even own the debt and they will just sell the debt to someone else once they bleed you. That is what is ironic?.paying them means nothing if they don?t own the debt.

2. NEVER EVER pay them a dime. In the state I am in the statue of limitations (SOL) is 5 years and it varies by state. It varies by state but there is zero chance they will get a judgment against you past that date. Unless it is a student loan then your beyond screwed. You need to research the time period for (SOL) for your state. Here is the thing though?.if you have a debt that is 8 years old and SOL in your state is 5 years and you make a payment on that debt?the time frame starts all over. Then a debt they don?t have a chance to collect is now collectable for the next 5 years by anyone!!! You do this you are screwed. They will call it a processing fee or something else to get you to pay then even a dollar?does not matter once you pay you are really in bad shape.

3. Tell them in your state the SOL time frame is (xxxx) whatever and they are SOL. They can still sue you and if they do you will have to research the letter you give the judge indicating SOL. Don?t be afraid of being sued as it is not likely they will and SOL always wins. Chances are they don?t even really own the debt. I strung two collection agencies along for a long time over the same paid off 8 year old debt. They got very highly irate many times and finally I told them they are SOL and instantly they just stopped. They gave up right there on the phone.

4. Keep in mind they can say anything to you. Ask them to put whatever they tell you in writing. I always set up a separate email account to get them to send me stuff. Send them letters requesting the info above and keep in mind it does not have to be typed and all that. Just write it on a piece of paper and send it so you get a returned receipt. If you are thinking you don?t have time for this that is the other thing they are counting on. If they are calling you at work send them a letter to tell them to stop?.google it. If they are calling your relatives do the same.

These people are predators and they will say anything to get their commission. They are on commission. Like all predators they look for the old or weak to prey on. They will be your friend or your enemy if it suits them. Don?t chat with them and tell them anything about your life. They will use it against you. Don?t be an idiot.

My payday loan is from 2005, been 8 yrs.also been harrasssed by detective daniels and set up a payment plan and had given my info in may or june 2013 and 3 weeks after the payment was supposed to be taken out it wasnt, so i called the company back and they were all angry stating i must have given wrong info, thats when i figured this was a scam, i started looking up names and numbers that they called me from and came up scam. well 4 days ago got a call from detective daniels stating i have insufficent funds on my account and i told him you know i did some research and found out you are a scam, he then started yelling a tme that i had no integrity and if i didnt pay the loan i would be thrown in jail, go to court, he left me 3 voicemails and threatened this in each one.

We received a call from this number and when we called back the lady was very rude. Said her name was Elizabeth Childs, called my cell # saying I had a returned item (Pay day loan) that was over 9 years old.  I don't remember this loan but they said they had my id and bank info and if I did not pay it they would have me arrested.  I spoke to two lawyers and they said it was a scam and don't pay anything or give them my inforation.

Yep, definitely scammers.  Said her name was Elizabeth Childs, called my cell # saying I had a returned item under a name I've never heard of (Sandra Flippo), left a vm.  I called back, suddenly, my # has been 'removed'.  I called again, they hung up.  I called again, they hung up again.  I waited a few minutes, called back, strung them along, and then I said "just a sec, let me get a pen to write this all down".  Laid the phone down, watched some TV, came back and she's still holding.  Made her repeat everything, then pretended that I didn't understand part of it, made her start over.  Then crinkled paper in the phone, said I had a bad connection, hung up and called back again.

It's fun to screw with this type of scum-scammers.

Just received a call from a local number that I didn't recognize so I didn't answer and a Elizabeth Child's left a message saying she was a fraud investigator and she had received something with my name on it and it was important that I contact her and then left this 704 number. Pretty slick little scam they have going. These bunch of bottom feeders need to get a life.

Hi there, I just received the SAME EXACT call as well from an investigator, except I was stupid enough to give him my CC info because he scared the living daylights out of me. I spoke with Elizabeth Childs at PDL Recovery Services on 9/4/2013 and I was the one that attempted to setup payment arrangements for a payday loan from 9 years ago that I JUST NOW got a letter regarding and that was never even on my credit report. The reason I know this is because I recently filed bankruptcy 2 months ago and listed EVERYTHING that was on my credit report!!!
So I gave her my info and agreed to pay a $25 deposit the day of the phone call. I know the $$$ was in my account but they never took it out!!! Which I thought was weird. 6 days later (today!!) I got a call from a man named Detective Joseph Daniels with the State of MN threatening to arrest  me if I didn't pay the full amount right now because I didn't have the $25 in my account last week when they tried to take out the deposit therefore I will be charged with fraud. The number he gave me for him was his cell phone #. Little did I know because I was so scared, I gave them my cc info to take the payment of $401 out of my account on 9/30/2013. He then said that by October 28 (a month later??) I was to fax a document back to him that he was going to email to me and the fax # he gave me was an Ohio number???? What is going on and what do I do now?? I am so lost and I can't risk being arrested if I'm being scammed, I don't know what to do!!! I didn't figure out this scam until I researched it on the internet today after receiving this threatening phone call. And when I asked Joseph why I had to fax him a document a month after I make the lump sum payment he yelled at me and told me I shouldn't be asking questions about a debt that I should've paid off 9 years ago and that if I said one more word to him he would cancel this plan and call the county I reside in and have them come to my home and place me under arrest and also send a process server to my home!!!

Got a voicemail from 971-228-1319 from Elizabeth Childs.  Said about a fraud investigation about a returned item.  Huh?  So the call back number left was 704-412-5676.  I called back within minutes and apparently Elizabeth Childs had left for the day.  So I called the number that the call came from initially and when a lady answered I said hello who is this?  She said it's Mrs. Lawson.  I said oh I must have the wrong number then.  She asked who are you looking for?  I said Elizabeth Childs.  Then she said yes this is her can I help you? I said you just stated your name was Mrs. Lawson and now you are claiming to be Elizabeth Childs?  She hung up on me.  

Point is, this scam of a company has tons of people calling on innocent people claiming to be an Elizabeth Childs and several other names.  This company is not legit.  Maybe we should all start calling their numbers a bunch of times throughout the day and mess with them and their time, lol.

I've gotten this same call a number of times over the last 2-3 years.  They've asked for two different people, both of whom I'm somewhat connected to, but this is definitely not their phone numbers.  

The recorded message from Elizabeth Childs indicated the same as the above posters... so I pressed 9 to be connected with the representatives.  I was connected and asked that my number be removed from their call list.  Form there, the rep got extremely nasty with me, saying that they don't have a "do not call list" and that even if he took my number out of their system, he couldn't guarantee I "wouldn't get the same call from a million other companies" (direct quote).  

Clearly this is an aggressive and threatening scam and the company or companies behind it need to be stopped.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!!

Got a call from Cassie from PDL and was told to call back. I called back and they were so worried my account was red flagged transferred me to a Det. Daniels. He told me that I had a balance that needed to be paid or I was going to have a warrant out for my arrest. He said I owed them 5500 but if I would pay them today he would knock it down to 700. He said he did a full investigation and money was put in my account Sept. 2011. I told him I need to call my bank to verify what was going on bc I didn't have any money put in there. He told me he could not let me go to call my bank otherwise the deal was off the table. I hung up and called my bank they stated nothing had been put in my account from them the whole year of 2011 and said it was all a scam. I called the number back and told him what I had found out and he said he didn't want to argue with me and hung up!!!! These people need to be caught my county court house was notified of the problem but said there really isn't much they can do bc everytime they get close or think they do it doesn't go anywhere.

Recieved the same call for my husbands 1st name called # 7044125676 they were rude when I started asking questions about the company. I told them they were a scam and the senior rep steve mac hung up on me and told me that they were going to do a tracer on the number. What a joke. Don't call or give them information about u. This is a scam.

Got call from detective Daniels of fraud unit/ division. From number 218-789-5543 stating that I needed to call him immediately a warrant has been issued for my arrest. For maliouciosly defrauding a financial institution. He called my sister inlaw and told her that I used her name on financial docents which of course I didn't. He also called my father in law and threatened to have him arrested.  This is all a scam I called sheriffs department to find out what's going on none of it is real. Do not give any money or any information to these people call your local sheriff and police.  Real creditors will not threaten And can't have u arrested.  The real creditors will work with you.   Huge SCAM beware of detective Joseph Daniels at 218 -789-5543.
