Missed this call on my cell and no message left

I would like to know who calls

a woman called my cell and told me i had won a cash prize, then asked what type of credit card i have and the number. i then ask what she need it for if i had won a prize, then they hung up.

called my cell; missed the call.  Not a familiar number.

ok this is weird...i've gotten calls from this number twice on my cell phone -- the most recen at 7:57 pm [pt] on feb. 11, 2008. i always seem to miss the call.

I too got a missed call from this number to my cell phone but little difference is that i got this call on friday 12th at 7:31 pm .

got a call on my cell(7:26 2-12-08) answered no one there no message left called back and the number is not in service

I got a call from this number a couple of days ago, now my phone is missing, and it is freaking me out. It showed up as a missed call for me, but a couple months ago, my friends brother got a phone call from "my phone" and it was a lady speaking spanish, but it was impossible for it to be from my phone because my phone was lost and turned off for over 2 weeks.

so i got the same call from this random number last week and i called back and it said that the number was disconnected. so it must be some sort of scam or something. It's weird though because i rarely give my number out so not sure how they got it.

got a call from 704-603-9988 on my cell 2/13/2008 8:10pm EST. nobody on the line. weird...

I would be VERY, VERY careful about calling this number back!!!!!!  I have heard of cases where once you call them back, they have software, etc that "latches" on to your number and they place calls all over the world using your number.

I got a call from this number 704 603 9988 and this number too 347 398 2724 both numbers are calling me from time to time

I have both Bank of America and Sprint. Very few companies have my cell phone number other than the one I work for.

my mom has gotten a call from this number twice. but what is different from what anyone else on here has said is that the first time it said for my mom to call robert my step-dad. but what is weird is he passed away almost 3 years ago. then it goes to the spanish. then tonight it asked to talk to him. then went to the spanish. so it is weird who knows. they need to stop this person from calling.

13 Feb 08: I received a call fromt his number at 7:45pm pacific time.  I didn't answer my phone either, and no message was left.  I tried calling back, but it was an automatic message saying the number was no longer in service.  

I did what all of you did; googled the area code.  Then I googled the number and ended up on this site....

This is the first time this has ever happened to me.

I Received a Missed call on my cell phone. From phone number 704-603-9988 on Wednesday February 13, 2008 at 6:42pm Pacific Time. I did not answer the call and the number did not leave a message. I do not recognize this number and I have never seen this number before. So I went to the internet for more information and googled the area code 704 and went on the whitepages.com website and it shows that this number is from a Western North Carolina area. I then googled the whole number 704-603-9988 and landed on this page with postings of people that have also received this number with no information about who it is. Obviously, if someone calls from a different area code that you can not recognize and does Not leave a message, it is probably a SCAM. So please Beware and be aware about this specific number 704-603-9988. Also if anyone knows how to report a number like this to a Law Enforcement Agency for possible harassment, might help to deter and stop these types of calls.

Same thing. I've recieved this call before and it sounded like garbled spanish. I imagine it is some foreign solicitation/political campaigning. Either way...it's B.S. This seems to be large enough to track. I use Sprint as another poster said that they use. Bank of America also has my # which is an institution known to give accounts to illegal aliens...that's why I quit them. Here are a list of institutions that could have sold my info:
1. Bank of America
2: Sprint
3: Union Bank of California
4: Sally Mae (student loans)
5: E-bay
6: Pay-Pal
7: Any number of grocery stores

Anybody else have anything in common with these entities?

Got the call at 8ish this evening to my cell phone, which I missed.  Just tried calling it back after reading all of these posts and got the "this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service" message.

Second call today from a random number like this.  WTF?

I live in VA.  Got a call from this number at 8:04 PM.  No message; when I called back I got a recording saying that the number was no longer in service or was disconnected, weird!!!

omg that is soooo weird...my friend just had this number call her and is too scared to call it back lol

Automated recording in spanish.  Sounded like a scam or spam or unsolicited sales pitch.

I live in North Carolina. I received a missed call on my cell phone at 8:04 pm on 2/13/07. The caller ID said 704-603-9988, but dialing that number leads to a message stating that it has been disconnected.

wow this is wierd!! i thought i was the only one getting this call. i didn't pick up.. i was a bit scared because not many people know my number. i got at 8:27pm... soo wierd!!!

02/13/2008 19:58 Received call on sprint cell phone. Woman's voice on other end, may have been recording. Definitely foreign language.

same deal.  call, answer, no response.  nobody has said what area they live in.  va here.

Just got call from same # on 2/13 @ 7:08 on my cell, missed call, wired info about this #, maybe it should be reported to the FTC, etc. as SPAM.

I just recieved a missed call from this same number on 2/13/08 at 7:11pm est.  I searched google for information on this number and I landed here.
