The business I work for receives these calls numerous times a day.

Make sure to go to donotcall.gov to register your number or file a complaint. These people are scammers trying to get your credit card info. Don't be fooled and fight back!!

Just started getting calls from this number today.   I have never signed any contract for debt with this company.   And to top it off she left me a deadline time to call her back.   Excuse Me!!!!!!!   I want my name and number removed from their calling list

I have received five calls from this number this morning. I have never had anything with a company called Ameri-Credit. Wonder why they are calling me. They haven't left a message. I might try to call the number back when I go to lunch. It's annoying.

This company keeps calling me about past due account for a MArta Teck? [sp]  I e-mailed the president of the company about two months ago and the harassing calls stoped, but started up again. This was my next step. There is no one by this name and I do not know anyone by this name. And I have never had a loan with this company.

This number is Ameri-Credit Finance Company, after I was six days late, this is what I suppose to be a past due account representative.

I do not have an account with this company, but have been receiving several calls a day since November, 2007. I want my number removed from their call list.

I do have an account with Americredit but they repeatedly call before 8:00 am and on Sundays.  I have not received any calls after 9:00 pm.  I do take their call when I can, but they seem to have so many different departments that no one knows what the other is doing.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THIS IS THAT JUST OUT OF THE BLUE STARTED CALLING.. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT NAME THEY ARE SAYING WHEN THEY LEAVE A MESSAGE BUT IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE MINE.. WHAT IS AMERI-CREDIT ANYWAY??

i get this call at work every now and then. My number is unpublished (it's my internal work line).  They always leave a message. My recording has my name, not the person they are looking for.  I don't get these cats.  What a waste of time and money.

I have never had any dealings with this company, ever, and yet I get three or four calls a week from them. I don't answer the calls because I don't know anyone in North Carolina. Thank you all for posting this information.

Americredit---calls all day long as early as 1 day after payment is due.  They have some real stupid people there that are always asking the same questions over and over.  I finally blocked all thier numbers from my cell phone and as an added bonus, when they do call, I have their number forwarded to a fax number so they get the annoying faxing sound when they call.

Yep, Americredit. I use Mr. Number on my cell so everytime they call from a different number, I add it to the list. I tried letting them know exactly when I would be paying (same time every month) but still get the calls. They can keep on and I'll just keep blocking all the numbers.

I have never had any dealings with them. Ever. My car is paid off. In spite of that, they started calling me two weeks ago. Here is the kicker: They call my home phone, and we have the ringer off (it is used ONLY for outbound faxes). This is the recording they, or anyone else that calls hears:  "Thank you of calling. This telephone is used only for outbound faxing, and not for voice use. You are welcome to leave a message, but it will do you no good. Anyone that is important to us has our cell phones. If you do not have our cell phone, there is probably a damn good reason you don't".  We do not identify ourselves on the message. We clear the caller ID  about once a week, noting the numbers of repeat callers, then google the numbers for any calls that are not identified. That is how I got on this site. They can waste there time forever for all I care.

Yes it is Americredit. I have had my car for 5 years now and it's almost paid off and yet they still think I might not pay them each month...it's pretty rediculous. They begin calling within 3-4 days after the payment is due and continue calling 5-8 times every day until the payment is made. I've called them to let them know I'll be making the payment in the past, even give them a specific date and ask for a courtesy hold to stop the useless calls, and, while they used to do the courtesy hold (I get paid bi-monthly, so I, like others, pay on a certain week) now days they won't unless I give them a check by phone. I use cash and cash only, so no bank account for me, hence I cannot do the check by phone deal. So I just roll them to voicemail when they call and even wait until the last possible minute to pay them just so they have to pay for someone (or some machine) to call me upteen times a day. It doesn't bother me a bit, I just ignore them, they know they'll get paid. Today they texted me for the first time. Texts cost ME money and I believe that is probably illegal for them to do that...we will see. Either way, still not calling them. Apparantly I'm not the only one that doesn't pay right on the due date..and apparantly, they are financially in a crunch to be harassing their customers like this on a constant basis. Good thing I don't do the debt thing anymore, even if I did, I'd NEVER consider them as a lender ever again because of their collection practices.

we get calls from this number ALL hours... we have 3 kids & receiving calls late at night during bedtime is very annoying... sorry we all get this but glad to know we're not the only ones... we don't answer the phone & they keep calling.

This is Americredit's collection desk.  They usually start in about five days after the amount comes due, and typically they continue to call four or five times daily, almost always with a recording.  Most of the calls (at least on the West Coast) come during their off hours, making it difficult to talk to someone if they call *you*.  If you negotiate a payment, they will usually continue to call, as their automated dialer only takes you off the list if your payment is current (although I've managed to get them to hold off if I'm paying in full within a week, which they call a "courtesy hold").

Be aware that their collection people are of uneven quality.  One hapless lass seemed unable to understand that I had made arrangements to pay the following week, all but threatening to repossess my car (at two weeks past due, no less!).  I called back on Monday, spoke to someone else, and had it all fixed right away, with no further calls.  I suggest calling them during the weekdays; every other time they don't seem to have their "A-Team" at the phones to service accounts.

This company is real bad, they will call at lease 6-8 times a day with never anything but a recording.

I too got a new cell phone number and since an hour after it was activated last friday night and they have called at least once a day (today twice so far, and it's now 3pm). All hours and any day with no shame! Sunday night at 8pm...YUP! Saturday morning at 7:30am...YOU BETCHA!! I hit the number to transfer to a representative and they said they were looking for "Jose". Told them twice that I will call State Attorney General and report them if they call me again...both times they said they would take my #  off their list. They've called three times since then (two days ago).

I will be writing a letter to them in regards to it. I just got a bunch of letter for helping to repair credit, etc...and this is the exact subject of one (I guess we're not the only one and it's common-place in our society). I will post it when I finish it so that all of you who are being called incorrectly and harassed can use it as a template to send to them....hopefully that will be enough.

I ignor the calls and they never leave a message. Anyone know how to get off their call list?
