I got this call and picked up. Only to hear a recording to call CMC business. I could not get the entire number so called the main number and said I need business office. They did not have a clue who to connect me to and suggested billing. Billing did not know who was calling. I tried using the mycarolina web site log in. CS at that number told me over the phone they had no clue who called me.
Only when I thought to key in the last 4 digits in my computer of the number that I had written down did I connect to this site.
The lady I spoke to was so rude. She was saying I owed 18 dollars and some change from a March doctor visit. I started giving them my insurance info again, but then looked at my insurance EOB online while speaking to them, and found that it had been paid in full by insurance. I told the lady it was paid with date and check number. She was so rude and said they could not of paid we have not billed them yet??? I said lady I just gave you the EOB info from my insurance. Anyway I asked for a manager and got someone who claimed to be an assistant manager. After putting me on hold a few minutes she said she would give this problem over to their person that handles insurance billing. I said do you want the check number? She said no. She told me that when insurance pays it all comes in on one large sheet instead of individual checks and they might not of known what the payment was for when they got it!
My insurance has been screwed up ever since CMC went out of network for United Health Care for 2 months this spring. They said keep seeing your providers and will bill you as in network which was bull. The bull part they simply erased my UHC insurance out of their system. Every single provider with CMC I have had to go back and give them my insurance again over and over. They all took the card at time of service and scanned it in their system. I have been seeing these doctors for more than a decade with the same insurance.
It is stupid for them to robo call you and not have someone there when you pick up the phone to only get some recording, that does not even give you a chance to grab a ink pen.
Anyway I have gotten to where I hate CMC. I think I am going to just start changing all my care providers to Novant and be done with them.

I Constantly receive calls on my cell from this place and I live NO WHERE Near North Carolonia nor have ever used their healthcare system. They call asking for another persons name - I have patiently told them several times they have the wrong number, last time I was not too friendly because they woke me up! Now I don't even answer!!!! I don't get the intelligence level there --- my area code is nowhere near NC!!!!

The message is from Carolinas Healthcare System trying to collect on an unpaid bill. They get the number wrong a lot, so it might not even be your bill they are tyring to collect!

If this is indeed CMC, they had best talk to me themselves. I don't pay or talk to collection people. Make sure my insurance has paid first. I don't trust you to send anything back if I overpay because ins. pays it. Chill you money grubbers. You'll get your $50.00 for that Tylenol that I cant take anyway.

It's Carolinas Medical Center. They've been robocalling us during non-business hours with a recording demanding that we call them back during business hours. We are current on all off our bills with them, so this is ridiculous. If they have something to discuss, they could have a real person call us to talk, rather than using this crazy, inefficient system.

Have been receiving calls from this number for once. Glad to know it is a legitimate number from Carolina Medical but don't understand why a legitimate business never leaves a message. If they have something to say they need to say it and stop calling.

Called on my cell phone while I was at work. I didn't answer and whoever it was did not leave a message.
Other posters have stated that this is Carolina Medical Center's bill collection office which is definitely plausible as I visited the ER a few weeks back.
However, they should leave a message and wait for a return call. Whether I can answer the phone or not is my business, but it is harrassing for people to call repeatedly.

I got a call from this number. I just recieved the bill on Saturday. I put the check in the mail on Monday, and three days later I get a call. Seems a little pushy to me.

I recieved this call this morning and called back after they left a message. It was Carolina's Medical Center. I'm not sure if it was collections or not. They asked me if I had received my statement which I did and asked if I had any questions regarding it, which I did not. They said it was just a courtesy call and thanked me. Im not sure if they made an error in calling me and made up another reason as I had paid my balance online, printed it out and had my reference number ready to go, but they never asked for it or any other personal information.
