I have received several calls a day...at several annoying times of the day. NO message on my machines. Hang-ups when I answer. I am in the DoNotCall directory.
I have heard that the company targets newspaper subscribers and I am not one, but I recently subscribed to Time Magazine, the only publication I receive.

The number belongs to a company called Ver-a-fast Corporation, based in Ohio. The company telephone number is 800 327 8463 or 440 331 0250. President of the company is Robert Bensman. VP of Marketing, whom I assume be over PR too, is Nan Kubera. Verafast does not have a good reputation.

If you've been receiving calls from Verafast and suspect that they are tied to your newspaper subscription, you are most likely correct. In my own case Verafast was calling in reference to a new newspaper subscription.

Your state attorney general's office should be able to tell you what route to pursue if you feel that Verafast's calls have gone from annoying to harassing. If you're on the national do-not-call list, you can file a complaint against Verafast at https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx.

However, if you gave your phone number to the newspaper to which you recently subscribed, you now qualify as having an existing relationship with that merchant, and unless you request of the merchant that they remove your number from their registry, they can use that number for up to 18 months after your last transaction with them.  Because of this it's important that you make your dissatisfaction clear with the newspaper, and to register with them.

1 call 2 days running, when i pick up no one responds to my "hello". 2nd time I heard a click,like a hang-up after I said "hello" I called the number after receiving the 2nd call. got a recording advising if i wanted to be removed from calling to enter my tel no, which i did. they recording did not identify itself nor provide any reason for its call to my number
