Called my home phone number I did not recognize the number so did not answer. ID display shows only "Charlotte, NC" and 704-837-1316. No message left on answering machine. Am also on the NC and National Do Not Call registers.
Caller: Unknown
This goes on everday for many different numbers from all over the USA. Callers are unknown and no message are ever left.

Why don't you just answer the call, they don't care if you want their call or not, then play a shrill noise in their ear. They are trying to get info from the elderly. You must make sure you protect your elderly members.

Get a free software called PhoneTray. Hook a nearby phone line to your computer's "Phone In" input. You can hook up the phone to the "Phone Out" or leave it empty. This software will let you add any number to it on the fly to block future calls after one ring, and it will play one of 8 messages or so, most sounding realistically like phone co. recordings saying the number is not in service, for example. You can block ALL 800 numbers, and any number as it comes in. You can also set it to not ring your phone at all between, say the hours of 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Google "PhoneTray Free". It's worth it.

Called today, and when the telemarketer paused to get me to consent to her info send, I politely informed her that my family and I do not donate to unsolicited charity requests. She immediately started her pitch again!
When she had to pause again, I was angry, and informed her that NO, she was NOT to list us as being donors, and told her it was insulting that she didn't even listen to a word I had just said. She paused - and tried AGAIN! I told her NO, and hung up the phone. This was almost as bad as the folks calling on behalf of the police family charities, years ago. We have been on the DNC call list for quite a long time.

Cancer Fund of America. Pitching for donations so hard they talked over my answering machine outbound message for a full 10 seconds when I screened the call.

They called my MOM'S home phone at 8:30 in the evening and left a message asking for ME by NAME... Super creepy stuff here...

Called at 8:20 AM. Guess they get up early. ID said "CF O America. I did not answer. I think signing up for Do Not Call WAS a good idea but obviously most companies now know how to get around it.

I am and have been sighed up, and confimed, on both the NC NO Call List and the National NO Call list.
I still receive repeated calls from this company, even after hitting the 1 button to be removed and the "10 day waiting time" to supossedly purge my number from their system.
When I try to call and get address of comany, an automated message says they can 'not (never) take my call right now'.
I contacted:
Cancer Fund of America Inc
2901 Breezewood Lane
Knoxville, TN 37921
Phone: 1-800-578-5284
Fax: 1-865-938-2968
Email: info@cfoa.org
and they specifically tell me that they have NO offices, affiliations or connection with anyone in the Charlotte, NC area.

This is a paid professional company (or so they say) who is raising donations for Cancer Fund of America. They apparently do not understand the phrase "Put me on your internal Do Not Call list please," because this is the third such call in the past week (from different numbers). At least this lady was polite and said she would gladly do so, whether or not she actually does remains to be seen...
I'm not marking this as a non-profit because the actual company doing the calling is a FOR-profit company. I won't donate to ANY company that pays people to raise funds; if I donate, I want ALL of my donation to go to that particular cause, not to someone's paycheck.
