It appears that this is a telemarketing company.

I sure gave it to these people.. They phoned me and I pressed 1 and I yelled at them.  I suggest you do the same thing cause the woman on the phone was not pleased.

Received call at 4:58 pm on Feb 12.  Did not answer call.

I picked up and they immediately hung up. I am in Vancouver (604) and a Telus customer.

I got a call from this number too and they did not leave a message,

I've been getting ranom calls from Cali area too-  I dont pick up unkown calls.

I got this call, I missed it by two mins.
Decided to call 'em back after 5 mins of waiting.
It said 'not in service'.
I looked up the area code and it seems to be from North Bay (according to Google).

the number appears to have a bilingual "the number you have reached is not in service" even if you call back right away.

They tried calling my cell phone.  I didn't answer the call since I don't know anyone from that areacode.

Since they're dialing cellphones, it's definite fly-by-night.

Also received a message from these guys. Might i suggest that we form an organization that collects all of these calls, then 1 day we all call the number as many times as possible and complain to them. Perhaps with enough outraged people phoning all day to tie up their lines they might stop.

I hate TELUS...they don't have any customer service what-so-ever...maove to another subscriber as soon as possible...They try to control your lives, I think that TELUS was created from aliens

i received a call today about a free trip to mexico if i press #1.i recently when on a monthly plan from FIDO and since then I started to receive stupid calls like this.Can FIDO give my number out to call centers???

Got a call from 1-705-998-7593. it disconnected as soon as i answered

Think of free trips as timeshare sales and disconnect the call. Take it from me, you do not want to get involved with them.

I'm from Calgary and I also received a call claiming I won a trip to Mexico, but the number that calls me is from Arizona (480-553-8895). They also asked me the same two questions was I older than 23 years old?
And did I have a credit card? I replied yes and then the call just disconnected by it self.

I did call the number back, you get an answering machine saying that "this is a travel related call and will contact you shortly" "If you wish to have you're number removed please press 1".
Oh I'm with Telus by the way.

Just got the call on my cell phone 905 area code and started screaming F***!!!!!!! into the phone and they hung up

i got this call...but didnt pick up..at first i though it was my friend callin as he lives in ottawa..but now as u guys said its a telemarketter i guess it was..

No message was left.

They called and said (in a -really- goofy voice):

"Your phone number has been selected to win a free promotional gift" Press 1 to receive your free promotional gift."

To be honest, it felt more like a joke from a friend rather than a serious offer. They repeated the message once again, before my phone disconnected and said "Unknown Error"

Picked up this call and got a recording message saying "Press 1 to recieve your promotional gift" and I did not press and the recording message repeated once before it hung up itself.

Received call in Ottawa on December 30. Didn't pick up.
Checked on wikipedia for area code 705, apparently comes from Ontario.
Did not find out where phone exchange 998 comes from though.
