A recording in Spanish. I didn't understand what it was about.

Hi ... I live in the 705 area code area ...  my daughter and I recently purchase a 'Magic Jack'  each.   Our telephone numbers now start with 705-999 ... but when we got to choose our numbers there was nothing as high as this number available - but I would guess it is a someone using a 'Magic Jack' from out of this area, but who has purchased a phone number for this area - it will be a local call (according to Magic Jack, anyway) for anyone calling it back, no matter where it is physically located.

705 is a valid area code for parts of Ontario, but to my knowledge 999 is not a valid phone number prefix for any of Ontario.

Whoever this person is called my cell phone and hung up twice within 1 minute(1:59 pm), so it was 2 missed calls.I was suspicious about who it was so i looked up the 705 area code on the internet and i do not know any1 from ontario canada.I live in Texas.But i called it and the operator said this # is not valid please check the # and try your call again??!!That was strange.The # was 705-999-4137.I hope they do not call back its probably just some spam pplz.

I got the same call yesterday, my dumbass friends who know spanish said that it is some kind of scam.  I dont know they called twice

I too received a phone call from this number (705)999-5814, when I picked up it was completely silent, so I hung up and when I called it back it gave a busy signal like sound...

I'm really freaked out why so many people received a phone call from the same number...

It can't be bill collecting for att reason being, the phone they called for me was a tmobile cell. I don't know.. it seems like everyone has been getting strange calls from this number its rather weird especially looking at the posts cause it all just started about 7hrs ago for everyone. A little freaky.. :-/.

I received the same call from this number. Thank goodness I did not answer the call. Thanx for the heads up on this number.

This number called my cell phone and a man started speaking Spanish to me.  I guessed that he was trying to sale me something because he said something right before I hung up that sounded (with my limited knowledge of Spanish) like press 1 now.

I am not sure what is going on, but I also got called twice by the same number within a minute of each other. I don't think it's AT&T calling, because my bill is payed in advance. That would be quite strange if they called for a bill that has a zero balance.

I received a call at 7:31 PM ET from 705-999-5814 today March 24, 2008, did not answer.  I do not know anyone in the 705 area code

I just got a call from this number 705 999 5814 and The weird thing is my phone didn't even ring, it came up as a missed call. Weird. Googled it to see who it was and found this. Im happy Im not the only 1 getting mysterious canadian numbers calling. I called back but it said I dialed it incorectly or something to that effect.. strange.

Just rec'd same call from 705-999-5814 @ 2:55 Mountain 3/24/08. No one was on the line when answered.

Same as everyone else.  Got the call, heard the Spanish recording, and hung up.

Just received the same BS call, in Spanish.  Must be some kind of scam.  It's asking to pick some kind of number.  The message was repeated and then disconnected.  SOMEONE needs to investigate, namely the ONTARIO authorities. Maybe the RCMP- Fraud Division?

In Spanish so I did not understand.

I received two calls within one minute.  I called back but it said the number is not working.  I am suspicious because I was recently a victim of id theft and the origin of the theft is from Ontario, Canada....the same area code as this number.

If anyone knows i this has led to further problems, please post it!

HAVE RECEIVED A COUPLE OF CALLS FROM 705-999-5814. NO ONE WAS THERE.

I just received a call from 705-999-5814, the message was in Spanish so I could not understand what it was, I called from a land line and it was a recording stating that the number is discounted. hmmmmm Strange uh? There is only 1 number in my cell phone address book since its a new phone and that person got a call 20 mins after I did. Not sure if its linked or not.

Same s*** here- When I answered MY fone it was a recording saying that I won some gift. The recording was in spanish. MY number is in tha -562-

Just received a call from this number on my cell. I did not answer it since I did not recognize the number. I tried to call it from a land line but it just gives you a busy signal.

I got a call from 705-999-5814 and as soon as I picked up the phone, the caller hung up.  I am thinking this is one of those phone scams where the caller somehow links into your phone to use another phone but it charges the minutes to the originating caller.  I could be wrong but it is strange they called a government cell phone.

I have two missed calls within minutes on my cell phone from this same number (705-999-5814). I called it back and it said it is no longer a working number. Something strange is going on here. No message was left on my phone.
