Wow I just got a call from the same phone #, figured it was a scam and looked for info on it. Today's flavor is the North Carolina police dept.charity drive. I don't even live in NC!!!

Caller ID said "Local Call Area," but I am not in Georgia. Caller asked for my first name, and I pretended I was not home and asked to take a message.  Guy said it was just a courtesy call and would try again later. When I called back, a recorded message said they were a "fundraiser for a children's charity or other non-profit organization."  Then prompted me to type in my phone number for another call back for more details.  I did not do so.

Received a call from this number. Did not leave a message on the answering machine but didn't hang up right away. Caller ID says: LOCAL CALL AREA.

Reverse phone number and Google search turned up nothing at all.
