The guilty party are all the fools who have lawyers the power in the first place to "bastardize" and twist the meanings of the law. But with gold comes the bad. The FTC can't really do much against a changing world (almost hourly) of technology.

The folks that put their number on the FTC "Do Not Call" lists are finish right now. The telemarketers who download these lists regularly violate the law and make millions while the fines are only in the low thousands. Do the math, they make the money and take the profit!

Oh well, all we can do is DONT PUT YOUR NUMBER ON THE "Do not call" list. I did an experiment with a couple of mobile phones to prove my point. I bought two prepaid mobile phones. I put one on the "DNC" list and the other not.

I used the both phones as callback numbers over a month on some web pages.

Guess what?

The DNC phone was barraged by garbage calls of all sorts. The non DNC phone didn't get hardly any calls. A few from a couple of marketeers from the web pages.

got robocall from 706-805-1777 caller ID said "ANIL BANK SVCS" on Tuesday 02-11-14 @ 320 PM

I think they misspelled their caller ID and it should be "anal bank svcs."

Anyways Recorder said =This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts....... second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. ............ So press 1 now to take advantage of this today.
Pressed 1 and another recorder said "you are the next call in line...... Then a guy came on the line and asked "if I pressed 1 to lower my interest." (Such a stupid question what do ya think - how else is someone able to talk to these CROOKS) so said "yes" then the SCAMMER hung up on me.

Received 2 calls today....rings about a dozen times.  Caller ID says, Anil Card Svcs.  Got another one too from 801-773-4762 Clearfield, UT...they seem to come in pairs daily now...  I'd give for some descrambler type device that could see the REAL number they are originating from...not this spoofed caller id they are doing.

ANIL Card SVCS appears as the caller id name. I am on the DNC list but that doesn't stop the calls. (I am beginning to wonder if that where most of the scammers are getting their numbers from)

Received a call from 706-805-1777 today. Caller ID showed Anil Card Sucs. I did not answer the call

Very irritating, annoying calls  from  incredibly rude person who refuses to identify herself and the company she represents.  

Have been receiving calls from this number for months, sometimes multiple times per day.  An automated message comes on stating this is my "final notice" "as it relates to the financial stimulus" to reduce interest rates on my account.  It instructs the recipient to press "1" on the phone's keypad to find out the rates and terms to consolidate their accounts.  I don't carry any credit card debt to begin with, so this is a random robo call.

I received one of these calls on my answering machine, and 30 minutes later another call from this number came in.  This time I answered it and pressed "1" to speak with someone.  I heard a recorded message stating I was being placed on hold and that I was caller #14.  A couple of seconds later a woman came on the line.  I asked her the name of the company she was working for, and she responded by asking if I had pressed "1".  When I replied that, yes, I had and that I wanted the name of the company she was calling on behalf of, she again confirmed that I had and that I wanted the name of the company.  She promptly hung up on me.  

Following this incident, I called the number and received a recording.  Thankfully, there was an option "2" to be placed on a no call list.  I also attempted to speak with a live person to complain about the  behavior of the telemarketer,  but could only leave a voicemail.  

BEWARE OF ANY TELEMARKETERS WHO REFUSE TO IDENTIFY THE COMPANY THEY REPRESENT!

I am really tired of these card member svcs calling every day.    How can I stop them?

they send automated calls over over and give options btu there options dont go thru think it is for someone else but cant tell them ext they say to talk wont work harassing me to DEATH. Just too many doing this

Just got this call and pressed 1 and was put on hold for a few minutes.  When the call was answered, they asked if I was holding for the lower interest, I said that I was actually holding for a supervisor.  I was hung up on.  My suggestion is just not to answer calls that show Cardmember Svcs.

Keep getting calls from this # and they are constantly saying "this is you second and final call , etc.  I have had so many more chances than two because they keep calling.  I don't answer.

Got a call from them today. The fifth one since last Thursday.  I actually try to speak with them each time to get removed from their list. Each time, at some time in the conversation about getting removed from their list, I get hung up on.  I'm gonna keep filing complaints on the national do no call website until they do something or their site crashes. I've gotten calls from them with numbers in Georgia and Washington, and I'm sure there are others, just don't remember all of them, since they have been calling for about a year now.

There is something sneaky going on! I registered my cell on the "Do not call" list several months ago. And no I am getting unwanted calls on my cell. Loop hole? Shady business? Can someone tell me?

besides his idea does not work.  I work for a real estate office--calls very important-when we hung up everybody who worked for this co who ever it is got into the act. called us every two seconds for three hours. we finally had to
disconnect the system.
therer must be a law against this.  a real estate office can not afford to close its system down because of jerks

"Cardmember Services" keeps calling.  Sometimes they call several times a week.  Each time I ask them to stop, but they keep calling.

Always the same recorded message ... "Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus."  Blah, blah, BS.

Does anyone know the REAL name of their company?  I doubt it is Cardmember Services.  

The call is to lower the interest rates on credit cards.  I  have asked them not to call but they keep calling .  Isn't  there any way to stop them.

This company calls using an automated dialer and a recorded message and (in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act) no operator on the line. They claim that they are calling because you qualify to lower your interest rates, but do not even know if you have qualifying debt when you do get to an operator. They also claim that this is your second and final call - neither of which is true. They will continue calling until they get shut down. When asked, they provide an address in Wilmington, DE, but give a TN ZIP code. When asked for a phone number, they hang up (the TCPA requires that marketing callers provide a phone number when asked). This is quite clearly a scam, with TCPA violations from the start and a refusal to provide basic contact information that 100% of legitimate companies will gladly provide.

Calls come from multiple numbers for the same Company. The caller ID changes so you cannot block the call and the number dialed is registered on the National Do Not Call List.

The guilty party at 'not being helpful' is the FTC, (Federal Govt.) who DO have the resources to track these people down and eliminate them, even if the calls originate off shore. I worked for Verizon for many years, doing routing of numbers and setting up class of service for various numbers. The people who work for the FTC (do not call list) should be mandated to block these numbers from each and every person who files a complaint about them. They would disappear from your caller ID very soon thereafter. The politicians who set up the do not call program did a very incompetent job, and have done nothing to refine t down to what it should be - a way to put a stop to these scammers and unscrupulous telemarketers. Instead of arguing here, write to your representatives and ask when the do not call program is actually going to do something effective to eliminate the problem.
BTW, I have a Digitone Call Blocker that will effectively block up to 100 numbers, and is capable of blocking complete area codes. It has been VERY useful, best $100 I ever spent on any phone equipment.
