Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

We keep getting calls for an "Eric" from this number ( no Eric here). I just called Verizon to block this number. While on the phone we did a number lookup. Verizon says it is strange because it is not a registered number. The service rep speculates from what she seen in her lookup if this could be related to the Target security breach. NOT LEGIT!!!

Got a call from them. I did not pick up.

Free Electric on caller ID.  SCAM!  Refuse to answer illegal telemarketing calls.

ya, pretty sure the conversation is about the ILLEGALITY of them calling those on the DO NOT CALL list.

I hate these calls, too, but cold call telemarketing is very much LEGAL.  Legit companies and crooks use it, but it's very LEGAL if you're not on the "Do Not Call" list.

A woman called and had basically nothing to say. I am on the national do not call register.

Likely is a SPOOFED phone number of a real American company - originating in INDIA or PAKISTAN.

You took a chance by calling this number back; SOME are Gotcha Scams in and of themselves, charging HUGE FEES for those who call them: $20 or more PER CALL *PLUS* Outrageous Per Minutes Charges of $9 or more.

ALSO uses the (likely spoofed) number of 706-805-1788.  Caller ID sometimes says "FREE ELECTRIC" as it did on mine.

TOTAL SCAM.

Got a call today from this number.  Caller ID said "FREE ELECTRIC".  Immediately knew it was a SCAM; all LEGIT *AMERICAN* companies know that COLD CALL TELEMARKETING IS ILLEGAL, so they don't do it so as not to risk FINES in the TENS of THOUSANDS of $.  The legit Solar company of "RES SOLAR" is going after them for using THEIR name on CID, FRAUDULENTLY, to gain consumer's info.

Picked up/hung up w/o answering to break the call and 'confuse' the robodialer.  It is now BLOCKED.

ALSO has been calling on 706-805-1788.  Same MO, but longer thread - has been going on since JAN 2014.  They switched their SPOOFED number by ONE number and are continuing.  Also using "Credit Consolidation" (the old Lower Interest scam), Canadian PHARMACY (viagra) and OTHER scams.  BEWARE.

Calls and hangs up. Caller ID says "Free Electric".

Caller has an Indian accented voice.  He says that my computer has a problem that needs to be fixed and that I should get on my computer and he will tell me how to fix it.

Told me my bank account was locked down and to press 1 to activate it again. Of course I hung up. I then re-dialed the number and it was identified as a telemarketing platform and I could dial 1 to be placed on their "do not call" list and "2" to find out who was using this number.  After pressing 2, the company was identified as:

I called that number and just got voicemail for "Amex Securities."  The whole thing is bizarre.
