Got a call from this number, but did not pick up. An hour later got a text from matchmagik.org

Automated message stated I had won a promotional gift and to press 1
I didn't press 1, hung up

Got a call on my cell but called back. They are offering the Cancun vacation with 2500 in "travel dollars"...Good times, messed with the lady on the line for a bit.

i live in British Columbia, Canada. Got this call during my lunch hour which i did not pick up.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that i, a student in his second year of trade school, who is very "spam aware" and does not give out his number to anyone, should get a call from the U.S.

It's been a while so I don't remember exactly. I called them back and somebody picked up the phone telling me that my number has been randomly selected and has won a price. The eligibility to obtain the price was that I had to be 23 yrs or older. But I'm 22 so I'm not eligible for the price. But then I said I'll be 23 in a week and they told me they'll need my credit card information to obtain the price. The way I see it, it's a scam. Why the hell they need my credit card information in order to give me the price? ... so I told them I don't use credit cards and they said sorry and hung up.

I got a text message just before this from a local phone number that said,"huh? who is this? then about 15 minutes later that 707-340-2859 number called. I amswered it and nothing

First off, the do not call list is for cdn numbers and business only, this is the crooks way around this.  There is no way for the Cdn Govt to stop calls coming from US without their Govt help.  What I do not understand is I keep being told that my cell number is unlisted but I am getting calls to it.  This phone is only for travel and emergencies, good that I have call display because then I know not to answer a long distance call.  Man imagine the charges on this from Calif. to Ontario.

i got a call on my cell phone, and i live in saskatchewan so it sounds like they are calling everywhere. i never answer numbers i dont know, so i googled it to see who it was and found this site. i didnt think ppl were allowed to contact cell numbers, i thought they were private

Yeah...just had a phone call from them.  Looked the number up, found this website and started reading.  I have since messaged all of my friends telling them to be careful.  Not to follow the instructions.  Thanks everyone!  Got to love the internet...

Received a call from this number earlier today.  Did not answer, assuming it was one of these spam calls.  Funny how in 8 years of having a cell phone, I didn't get one spam call until AFTER the do not call list was put into service.

I just received a call from (707) 340-2859. My gut told me not to answer it, so I didn't. Then, I immediately did a Google search for that phone number and it led me to this place.

I'm glad I didn't answer the call... it might've been tempting to see what I'd won. Ha!

Picked up the phone and heard the word "congratulation...", then I hung up (it was a cellphone).

Wouldn't have picked up the phone if I didn't happen to have a friend in California on vacation...

i called back on another phone, waited through the music, and then a person came on and said, "would you like to hear about your Cancun Resort vacation?" I listened a moment longer, didn't say anything and then she hung up...

This is my second call on my cell today from a 707- number...the other number was 707-220-0630.

I'm curious to know why all of a sudden I am getting calls on my cell from 707 numbers when i haven't had them before.

I rec'd this same call from 707-340-2859 at 2:17 pm today.
I did not answer it. I called back and it did not even ring, just some elevator music in the back ground. I am getting sick and tired of these types of stupid calls. Has anyone tried out the do not call list - does it work?

Here is what will happen.  You answer the call and they tell you won a prize and to punch in a number combination. I think it's #1 then #7. What you have just done is given the user on the other end permission to use your phone account. ( this will let them make long distance calls at your exspence. ). This feature was intended to be used in good faith if someone from your family was out of town and needed to make a call from a second location.

oh my, so it doesn't look like i'm the only one from BC that received a call from this number also. Funny how I decided to google it? I looked up the area code and its from California.  I didn't pick up either.
