Same as all those above his name is Patrick stone an works for a law firm an that I am being sued for not paying a payday loan said I was going to receive summons at work an home in the next two business days I agree with others this needs to be stopped crazy people

Got first  call on my voicemail Feb 20,2014 stating he was from a law firm and stating Patrick Stone was the person filing nd that my social was investigated by federal. So I called back and actually got somebody but he never told me if he was Patrick but continued to tell me I was being charged with bank fraud,Eft fraud and some other stuff. And I had defaulted under a loan and that under the payment contract when a payment goes into default they have the right to sue me for $8,000 which is what they were doing he said. I told him I have only ever had one payday loan done online and it was paid in full on time so that if this was a scam of some sort he could take his crap somewhere else he started to get angry and I just hung up.

Wow! Same thing just happened to me yesterday! And I kinda thought something wasn't right so I eventually hung up. But yeah his name was Patrick and he said I had defaulted my payday loan and that I was being sued for $8,000 under default in the payment contract under chapter 919 or somethin. but it was paid off and on time so it didn't make any sense.Guy talked English with a heavy accent and was just a jerk!

Same message as above.  I think the info Is obtained when you complete the payday app and it gets sent to God only knows.

Got a voice mail saying all that previous people have stated.  This is ridiculous and it needs to be stop.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

I got the same thing, that a fraud case has been brought against me for unpaid pay day loans and that a summons was issued for me and would be delivered to my work and my home in a few days.  Said to have my lawyer contact them to arrange settlement.  I told him I do not have any pay day loans out and asked for the name of the company that said I do and he said that it would all be in the paperwork I received.  I asked for his address so I could pass it on to my attorney and he said it was none of my business and hung up!

This scammer told me the same thing only not to have a blessed day because I let him know in no uncertain terms what I felt about him and his so called client and his little scam game.

Go the same message on my government line at work. His name was Patrick Stone. I know its a scam but will turn it over to my attorney he will take care of him.

Received a call, 2/26/14, claiming I am being wanted for fraud.  Stemming from a payday loan over the internet.

Asked who my lawyer was, because there was a suit filed against me.  He left a message where I work.  I told him if he could get my cell- he should have my email, and hung up.

Says he's suing me for fraud. And will send me a summons.

Say his name is Patrick & he gives out some kind of code 9 19 or  something under the federal law. Then he gives the last 4 digests of a SSN he says you'll be summons & you'll receive the hard copies in a few days. Then he'll say have a blessed day
