Hey, I get why you hate credit card companies, and don't hate on me please, I am just passing on info. I work for Chase Credit Card Services. The only thing that was leaked was your email address. These text messages aren't part of that. No personal information was included. Not even the customers address at home, phone number, or name. There was just a thief in the system and they stole email addresses and sold them to telemarketers. It is all being investigated. I just wanted to try and ease your mind, if it hadn't been yet. You can always call us at 1-800-945-2000 (Chase Credit Card Services) and we can explain the whole ordeal to you easily. Also, not everyone's email was leaked. I hope whatever made you hate Chase gets fixed. I just work for 'em.

I got the SAME message only mine was from phone number 516-690-9797, It's an automated text program from a PC. The whole ordeal is a scam. No big deal i suppose. But I suggest people check on it with their cell phone companies.

I received text msg at 4:00AM from two different phone numbers 701-847-7717 and 908-986-2193 almost at the same time.
I know it's scam but I hate to be woken up at 4:00AM. Also I'm wondering how did they get my nickname that is not listed anywhere. My son got the same text and he is Best Buy employee. HE KNOWS IS SCAM. So EVERYONE OUT THERE............BE CAREFUL.

I received a text from 401-646-4502 stating that, I was randomly selected to receive 1 free $1000 Best Buy Gift Cirtificate;  Please visit "PrizePickupCenter.com".  I did not do anything with it.

Got the same text message on my cell phone but the phone number showed up as 16194687968 in Dulzura, California.  Scam.

Its a scam.  They'll ask you to pay for insurance or taxes or some other fee, and they'll ask for your credit card number so you can pay it.  They will buy lots of stuff on your credit card.  They will never send you the gift card.

I decided to send a message noting a serious federal crime and that they would be caught.  Im tired of ppl thinking they can intrude on other ppls valuable information and privacy.  I hope this is figured out cuz Im not about to have my privacy and identity taken from me.  This is b***s***!

I am not sure if I heard about Chase info being leaked to the public.  I hate Chase and their f---ing cards and would be so pissed if my info was leaked to anyone.  The Best Buy message was sent to me as well from number 781-384-0605 and I hope whoever is involved is in deep s***.  This is pathetic and someone needs to get a life.  Credit card companies are crooks and they need to keep a better guard on other ppls valuable information, and that's why so many ppl have their identity stolen now days.  I think this is b***s***.  Feel bad for BestBuy cus they look like the a** because of these idiots.  !!!

I got a text from 774-553-2811 from somewhere in Maine...must be a scam & probably from the security breaches at Chase & Discover

I did some research on this and noticed this bunch are using numbers from all across the country. My text message came from a phone number, +17326408118, in New Jersey. I know no one in New Jersey.

What really has me is that they know my name, which I don't know how they got. See this is my business cell phone, and the only way to associate my name with this number is to have been a client of mine (or one of my suppliers). So how did this bunch get my name.  

BTW on their website, as I said I did some research, they don't have one. Sure they have a domain registered with Godaddy but they don't have a website. I wanted to get enough information in case I wanted to go to the cops for any reason. So I tried their website, all I got was Server Not Found (or the connection times out). Which is usually the case when there is no website.

I don't have a Best Buy reward card, never had one ever either. The only reward card I currently have is one for Borders bookstore. Used to have one for Barnes and Nobles but I didn't renew it, it expired at least 5 years ago.
