Then give him (your local Police Dept's Fraud Division phone number) & tell him to ask for Murphy when he calls. Who is Murphy he asks ? Tell him, he's your brother, financial advisor & also just so happens to be a Detective with the Fraud Division. Bet your calls stop !

Thanks for the info you've provided me. To think that people like me who are trying to get out of debt are being scammed by fake people like that.

You can print up this thread and give to your HR Dept and/or manager to let them know you're being harassed by foreign scammers.  Do NOT communicate with this yahoo via email - block the number(s) he calls from if possible.  These are foreign scammers who scare people into paying bogus debts with threats.  NO reputable business is going to ask you to use Western Union or MoneyPak - both are like cash - untraceable.  You NEVER pay any debt without getting a debt validation letter via MAIL - do not accept email or fax.  This letter would show who the original creditor was, the original amount loaned, the balance still owing, date of last payment on the account, and also if the caller has the legal right to collect said debt.

Per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay any caller who refuses to mail this debt validation letter within five days of their first call.  Please do report this guy to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.  More info here:

I am happy to tell you that you are full of it. Why would I pay foreign criminals, who are calling American's, using high speed internet, voip, and software, trying to extort money on fake debt? Why would I want to get documents AFTER a settlement? Shouldn't you get documents BEFORE you consider settling? . . . As in proof of debt? Where was the part can of "Shill be gone"?
