I switched my number with Cingular because of too many unsolicited phone calls. The first day I had my new number this joker, Mickey Hart, starts calling. Hope he has an accident soon. I hate sales calls.

Got a call from this number on my cell.  As soon as I picked up, I heard what sounded like ringing tone when you make outgoing calls.  So I hung up immediately.

They just called my house and didn't leave any message. I've just spent 15 min. trying the reverse number phone book but didn't find any information on them till I Googled the AACC and the number.  I was relieved to see advice on how to deal with them if they call back.  I don't like unsolicited calls and that is why I'm on the do not call list.

got a call today on my cell phone which had a ring tone then voice message said if I remained on the line I was accepting the call as my mother which has been dead for 11 years.
so I hung up.

Just rec'd a call from this number.  I was on the phone at the time so I didn't answer.  Not sure who they would have identified themselves at but also rec'd a strange call from an "overseas" number Unknown name but # was 062-242-4256.

I get like one call a month from this number, when they didnt leave a voice mail i googled the area code to see where it was comming from and it said cali. I dont know any one in cali so i assumed that they were a telemarketer. They just called me again and did not leave a msg! these people drive me crazy. How do i get ride of them?

I got a call from this number, on a saturday morning way before I usually wake up. It asked me to acknowledge that I was nick callesy or something of the sort. That isnt me so I hung up. Nonetheless, if this is a scam these guys should be stopped.

This unwelcome and annoying number shown up on my cell phone today.  I ignored it.

Caller ID read AACC.  They are bill collectors! I told them the person they were looking for didn't live here. They started calling me names and going off like a mental case! Refused to believe me. Threatened to continue calling me telling me there was nothing I could do about it so I might as well give them the information they wanted.  HELP!!!

Called my cell 5-29-08, didn't recognize, didn't answer. Must not have been important as no voice mail was recorded.

AACC is the abbreviation used by a debt collection agency called Asset Acceptance, which is based in Michigan. I have repeatedly informed them that the person they are trying to reach no longer has this phone number but they keep calling. The most reliable way I've found to get calls like this to stop is to send a cease and desist letter to their registered service agent. According to the Michigan state Corporation Division, the registered agent for AACC is The Corporation Company, 30600 Telegraph Rd, Suite 2345, Bingham Farms, MI, 48025. Send a cease and desist letter to AACC, c/o The Corporation Company, with the phone number that's being called, your name, and state that you have no information concerning the person they are trying to reach. If the calls continue beyond 30 days, they consistute a pattern of illegal harassment and you will persue other options. Every time I've sent a letter like this, the calls have stopped immediately; it just takes a little bit of investigative work on your part to track down the company's legal process agent (aka registered agent).

Recieved call today for the first time and Googled it.  Most of the posts say that the call is from Asset Acceptance.  I'm familiar enough with this company to know they bought one of my old debts that my ex-husband racked up nearly 8 years ago.  I just checked my credit report last week and all the delinquent debts had been removed.  I'll now have to go back and check as several of these sites have mentioned this collector using illegal tactics to place the debt back on a credit report, even after the SOL has passed.  Once a statute of limitations has passed, these collectors have no remedy to collect unless you make some form of contact that would indicate that you plan to pay.  The only route they would have is to renew a judgment, provided they had obtained one prior to the SOL running out.  Even then, not all states allow a renewal of a judgment.

THEY CALLED ME ASKING FOR MY NAME AND TO HOLD TO BE TRANSFERED.  THEY ARE SAYING I OWE A DEBT.  I TOLD THEM MY REAL NAME WAS OSAM BIN LADIN.

I receieved a call from this number at 5PM on April 30.   When I answered the person on the other line hung up on me.  I dialed the number and got a recording for Asset Acceptance asking for a 4-digit extension number.
I reported it to the fraud unit of the District Attorney's office.

Mickey Hart and his band of losers just don't give up.  In the past 2 months I have had 5 calls.  They average about 1 call every 10 to 20 days. Does anyone have some suggestions as to getting these people off my back?

Ok, so this number called and I let it go to voicemail...they didnt leave a message so i googled it first (good habit)... which led me here after reading everyones notes, i decieded to call them back... I held on the line and got a live guy and i asked who is this and why was i contacted and he said can i have your name please, i said no you may not this is my company cell phone so there should be no reason for you calling this number if it had nothing to do with railroad issues.. he then HUNG UP on me...someone should put a stop to this crap... I wish i could call him back and just go of for him hanging up on me

Call came in and when I answered they hung up. I received a call from this same # is February and same thing..no one was there was I answered.

Same as above,phone rings no one answers I call back and they ask me for some person I don't even know and refused to say what the call is all about

I own a business and they have called about 3 times today!! I picked up the phone and told them that I am a business and if they continue that i will report them to the police.  The comment back from the man on the phone was " go ahead B***h" and hung up two minutes later I reported them to the local police department and now have a case # and a formal complaint against them.

I answered the phone quickly but noone spoke to me.  I kept saying "hello" but finally hung up because noone spoke to me.  
I have no debts in debt collection, so if they were calling to collect on any supposed debt, it would have been a hoax, and I've had my phone # for almost 7 years.  It wasn't a call to someone else to my # unless they were calling about some really OLD debt.   However, my number  IS on two Do-Not-Call lists, both the federal and the state list.  So I will report them.  
Since I do not have any debts in debt collection, I believe they were calling to sell me services.

Same experience as stated above.  Shows caller ID as AACC.  Leaves message to call 800-213-8040.  Also like to know how they do this as my number is unlisted.  Phone message also states they are Asset Acceptance.

I have received calls from Mickey Hart trying to settle a debt that is over 10 years old.  The calls have come from Arizon, Hong Kong, and various other places.  This started happening when AT&T took over Cingular.  My cell is registered with the National Donot Call Registry.  I have gone on line and filed complaints and plan to continue filing the complaints everytime that they call.  If you have any other ideas for stopping this harassment, please post it.

I have a similar experience to people above. Every few months they and other companies call with an automated voice and ask for someone I never heard of. I think they must make up these names and/or call every possible number. I have call blocking on my phone but they seem to call from different numbers every time.

Call came in, but did not transfer to a message.  I recognize Asset Acceptance and Mickey Hart as names who have called in the past.  They are collecting past the statute of limitations debt they have bought for almost free.  This is common in the debt world.  I don't think you owe this, but it's state law, so it may vary.  Unfortunately, there is probably no way to stop the harassment.  It is probably legal to try and collect this debt!
