Lots of voicemails to my elderly dad from this number during the last two weeks, although very few during the previous two months, and none from this number. Each claims to be from ICS and requests callbacks to 708-459-4960. During the same period as dad recovers from a cold we've been getting double that number from Stellar recovery--in that case supposedly from 630-405-7983, which requests callbacks from 877-277-5520 and 877-236-5791 and is actually based in Jacksonville, Florida and Kalispell, Montana for confusion purposes.
Dad was at Loyola hospital last February, and the docs there probably saved his life, since his previous Northshore/University doc kept insisting for years that the muscles wasting away in his legs were arthritis (a joint disease), and the Northshore cardiologist to whom he was referred said he wasn't sick enough for some "highly recommended" but experimental heart surgery. Turns out dad had two blood clots in his legs, and part of one broke off and ended up in his lung last February causing either pneumonia or something like it, but that primary care doc would also only refer dad to Evanston hospital, which killed his twin's wife in 2007 during supposedly routine cardio surgery, and which I couldn't find during this February 2013 emergency. Anyhow, I called that primary physician as well as Blue Cross from the Loyola cardiologist's office before taking dad straight down Cumberland Ave to Loyola hospital, as seemed quite warranted giving his wheezing, etc. According to what I heard at the time, the bills should've been covered, but somehow things change "creatively" during the billing process.
I don't have last February's bills with me here in the DC area and don't want to drive him back in/to the extreme cold. Plus, I haven't yet examined the bills from his July Loyola hospitalization after his twin fed him a tainted hot dog (Loyola kept him in the ICU for over 24 hours, supposedly for contagion control purposes but now I'm learning that's another aggressive billing technique), or his September urgent care trip after dad fell answering what turned out to be a fraudster's robocall. Trouble is, some real estate speculators are involved with crazy development/bank fraud in the property next to my dad's in the northwest Chicago suburbs (lots of LLCs and recorded interbank transfers) and even threatened my dad's life last January and April. Now Loyola too wants to use dad for experimental surgery, which one student doc said would cost $100,000 (before being shut up)--and others at Loyola orally say would be covered by his Blue Cross insurance or Medicare. But I doubt that's true without seeing it in writing, which of course isn't happening. And of course dead men tell no tales. Sigh.
Seems I need to find and draft a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) notice to stop these collection calls, since these agencies and Blue Cross and Loyola billing are probably going to keep shuffling/hiding the ball. Still, I appreciate the heads up here about the correct Loyola phone number. Aggressive hospital systems like Medstar in my Washington DC area (which used 3 different collection agencies simultaneously for the same bill circa 2010) and probably Loyola in Chicago just keep bouncing the questionable bills around. IMHO its not an Obamacare issue at all, but taking advantage of the elderly, sick or "the System"...

I am tired of being bothered by this company. It takes like pulling teeth for them to identify who they are calling on behalf of. I never get a voicemail left there fore I never knew who was calling. I finally found out the name of the company. I don't owe money right now. I would like my name removed. Thank you

I just called this number back and before I would provide any information I asked to identify who she was representing and she said date of birth and I said name of company you are calling on behalf of and she finally said ICS when I refused to provide a SSN or DOB and the address did not match her records I said take my name of your list and don't ever call again.

It's a recording, saying my name wrong everytime. I call back, I get put on hold or all agents are busy. Very irritating. I requested mail me something. Never got it. I asked Loyola to mail me statements of payment, never got it. ICS, kiss off.

Okay so this is a collection agency that isn't connected with Loyola Hospital. Calling back the (708)-223-1399 will get you no where, because they can't correct anything. The number you need to call is (708)-216-5000 this is the hospital's financial department. They will be able to help correct any bills or work out payment arrangements. Save yourself the grief and just call the hospitals number. Otherwise you have to deal with the collection agency who doesn't know diddly squat.

Ya this number is a Loyola University Hospital collection agency. I called back to see what this call was regarding, and sure enough they had all my information wrong in the system. They had my Medicaid as my Primary and Medicare as my secondary. My advice is to call back this number and find out exactly why there is an outstanding balance
