They are scammers. I answered just to see who it was & they said they had been getting numerous "error messages from my computer." I told him he was lying, hung up and blocked the number.

I was on LinkedIn and looking at jobs when this screen appears (thought it was for the company I was looking at), after entering all my information I catch CareerBuilders in the top left and exited the site. However, that was not enough as about an hour later I get a text message to call them about my job search. UGH!!!! They get you coming and going. No peace these days even if it is legit.

The caller congratulates you on your job application - the one you posted in Craigslist or some other job application site - being accepted. Sometimes they ask for a fee. Sometimes they will send you a check as an "advance payment". All you have to do is reply, and send them a lot of personal information. Now the bad part: the scammer can use that personal information to steal your identity. Any "fee" you send will soon disappear. The check they might have sent will bounce. There are several variations to this scam.

I'm in NC and have been getting the same text from this number for a week..i just ignored it until today when they started calling, now I've had 3 calls this morning. I hate these bogus sites trying to sell things to people who are obviously looking for a job. def don't call them back, then they'll never stop harassing u...

Just got a txt from this number. I had been applying for jobs near me (in California). This number seems to be registered in IL. I was looking for possible openings at a UPS facility near me and when I tried to view the positions available, I ended up looking at popups about car insurance and other stuff. I suppose I stupidly gave my information to some sleazy company instead of going to the UPS official page

I was texted by 224 520-9561 that the 708-401-0580 was some recruiting business, but when I called it really sounded like a hoax. I had called the 708 number using *67 prefix and they still knew who was calling; my name and my number. They started to ask some personal questions which should of been on my resume, if it was legit. I was quickly transferred to a recording trying to sell insurance and a couple of other non-job related advertisements. I quickly hung up.

I received a text, stating my full first name, saying to call this number. I have been desperately job hunting and have been applying online. I received an email a few days ago from Chilies saying thank you for the application but I'm not what they are looking for. Talk about human kind not being personable anymore.... After the email, and receiving the text I figured it was probably just another lazy company. But decided to do some quick research. Glad I found this site!

My friend got a call from 708-401-0580 and they were talking about a job offer at H-E-B, where he applied to today, but when my friend asked which job offering they were referring to since he applied to several, they addressed H-E-B as 'heb' like if it was one word and then after a while corrected himself and called it H-E-B. That seemed a little fishy, but the man told him he had to confirm his information so that he can do the online assessment, which there was one that had to be completed. Unfortunately, my friend did give him the information. Or the man already had the information, he was just confirming it. He confirmed his full name, e-mail address, age, and physical address. He said Yes to all of these when asked if they were correct. Now looking at everyone's comments on here about getting that same call, I'm a little worried. Could they do any harmful damages with this information? Thank you.
