knew it was a scam... did not ans.

Happened to be sitting at my computer when the phone was ringing.  Checked this website and knew not to answer!  First time from this caller unlike another that I get routinely.  Nuisance.

Have got a few calls from this number and i just turn my cell phone off. They have never left a message. There should be a way to stop unwanted calls.

I received a call from this number this morning. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Oh nice! As if we didn't already know that! Problem is, you don't pay a bill just because someone cold calls and claims (scam call!) you do and actually do not owe! The laws are very clear on that also.   Your more then welcome to go pay a bill you don't owe.. so go ahead and be my guest!

You can ignore "steve". He's just a troll. But as to "simply pay your bills", you're a total fool if you think anyone here is ignorant enough to buy that line of BS. The people here do pay their bills. They just don't fall for some scum-bag coming along and implying that if they won't hand over their money to some minimum -wage phone-fraudster they must be dead-beats. If they find this site, they learn quick.
There's nothing on this planet more ignorant than a scammer. Scammers are desperate, low-life parasites. They think that they'll get away with their games forever. They're always wrong. The bottom falls out of their schemes and they end up back where they belong. On the bottom. Which is where they came from. They enjoy the fun while it lasts. And then they fondly remember the "Good Ol' Days" while they do their time. When their "real" time does come, they answer for that. Eternity is a long time to spend remembering the "Good Ol' Days".

I just received a call from this number, and nobody has my number except family & my Doc. and our local phone company. So who sold my number is what I am wondering, and how did they get it? I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it, but I see they are on my incoming call log. They leave no message.  Another time I got a call from the voting party of a presidential election. So this isn't just random.

Called in middle of fixing dinner - by the time I got to the phone, they had hung up -- the answer machine was triggered and they hung up.

got a call,today..i answered it in my normal  matter by saying BLOW ME,as some one started talking,,,i again said BLOW ME,,,THEY SAID do what,,i said BLOW ME,they got up set,,,so again i said in a calm voice,BLOW MEEEEEE,,,they started babbling,i agaqin repeating my first answer BLOW MEEEE,THEY REPLIED you nut case,,,i said now BLOW ME,,,,,THEY HUNG UP BUT WHY,its a american term.so always answer the tellie,,,,,,if its a scammer,collector,robo caller,,,,JUST ANSWER BLOW MEEEEEEEE,

Unwanted call no message. When I called no answer. Stop the telemarketer ribo calls! This is my business number!

They picked the wrong number today! This is a scam. It is silvertree resort's, HA! Look them up on ripoffreport.com it is a timeshare scam. I just happen to be a licensed P.I so I hope this help's all of you.

Phone rings, unknown number shows up from distant area code, therefore I proceed to immediately do what the intelligent person does and google the number, consequently find this entry and add my bit to it, and here it is. Thank you for your excellent service, 800notes!

My advice: I'm in my 60's, but hello! I've read some of the other comments, and I must say this. We're not living in the 20th century anymore. We are never obliged to (and you are a dummy if you do) actually answer the phone when we don't recognize the number. You deserve what you get if you do. That is, you are recognized as a number with a "live one" at the other end, and your number is sold to all and sundry. You answer the phone, you encourage and perpetuate the scam. Congratulations. You just put money in the bad guy's pocket, just by answering the phone without checking first. *facepalm*

I registered a complaint with https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx.  Hopefully other people do it too, and somone can do something about it.

I received a call from this number within the last 15 minutes.

Interesting to note that "nearby" phone numbers 708-613-2040, 708-603-2041 and 708-613-2042 are listed as a "problem child". Possibly part of some phone bank. I wonder who is assigned this number?

Gotten multiple calls from this number & lately they've been from some company saying you've won a free two day cruise, just pay the taxes, service charges & tips!  What I hate is the loud boat horn that blasts your ear as soon as you answer followed by a booming voice saying something like AHOY! or ALL ABOARD! Makes ya wanna smack 'em just on principal!
There is one BIG red flag with these folks to begin with......if you try and call the number back you get a phone company recorded message telling you the number is not in service, there's no further information about 708-613-2048. It doesn't even say the number had been disconnected which is the recording you et for approximately 3 months after phone service is not longer being paid for (like when you're a newly wed & in school & money is tight & your service is temporarily interrupted (that's the annoying thing about the utility companies & the mortgage company, they're pests, ya send them a cheque & the very next month they want MORE MONEY!)
Hope I didn't give anyone readers cramp but I thought you'd be interested to know information I had on the number.

I didn't even get a busy signal when i called it back. In fact, it didn't even ring.  That's when I knew it was someone I didn't know!

Received call from this number at 11:30 EST.  Did not answer as I did not recognize number.  Called it back, first no answer of any kind....followed by rapid busy signal.

I got a call yesterday at 7:15pm.. didn't answer and no voicemail. Googled the number but don't know anyone in the town its coming from..and it seems a lot of people are saying its a scam. .adding to my block list!  I'm curious to know how they got my number since its not even an Illinois number! Strange.

Got a call today from this number, some cruise scam. They hang up as soon as you say you won't do anything right away.

Received today didn't answer and don't know anyone in Illinois. Blocked it with Via Talk. Great VOIP Service.
