It's the external access number for AT&T, for retrieving your voicemail. It's embedded in the AT&T cellphone programming of your smartphone as well, so that from your own phone, you don't need to do anything other than press your voicemail button. If you call it from some other phone, such as your land line, you will be asked to key in the number/mailbox/PIN you want to retrieve.

Not trying to be a smartass but..I've never heard of dialing a different number than your own to obtain access to your own voicemail. And yes my wife receive red a voicenail from the 0220 number also asking for the pin . We hung up! No what I'm saying? Alot of scams out there one can't be to safe...b carefull.

Most likely when you dial in your pin they got access to not just your voice mail they have a pin that maybe used on other accounts....think about it !

This is a callback number for AT&T Voicemail. This is the number that's dialed automatically when I collect my voicemail messages on my AT&T Galaxy S III smartphone. If you call it from the phone assigned to your voicemail number, you can play back your messages as soon as you key in your PIN. If you're calling from an unrecognized phone number, I guess you have to jump through more hoops somehow to identify which voicemail account you're calling for; I haven't tried that.

They have wrong number, but when press 1 to talk to a rep, they claim that the number is not a call number. It is only a receiving number and I should "grow-up".
They are very belligerent and their license should be taken away.

Got 6 of these over the Christmas holidays. All went to my cell phone. Only one had any message attached to it, and it was just a bunch of BS. The Do Not Call Registry is a total joke. It has no teeth, and the telephone spammers know this and don't give a hoot about following it.
It was just another piece of feel good legislation that does nothing to stop these SOBs.

Unsolicited by me - I am on the do not call list. He said it was about my compensation claim (I have no compensation claim) and proceeded to ask if I had taken certain medications. I hung up.

I was just left a "nothing" message. I'm on the "DoNotCall.gov" registry and will report it. I have StraightTalk telephone service, and can block it from my phone, which I will do too. No message was left from this number.

sounded like a foreigh language with young kids speaking the same two or three words over and over. Phone did not ring, just buzzed telling me I had a msg. I ran an inquiry and it said a cell phone from Hinsdale, Illinois.

Voice mail alert from this number on my way to church Sunday morning, listened and 'no message' left . tried to call it and it said: "this is not a working phone number please check the number" to which I hung up and was CHARGED $1.00 on my pay-as-you-go-hone from AT&T .. NOT GOOD!!
