Just received a call from 708-898-2013, ext. 243. Same as above. Some guy saying about a contest and a car. I called back (from a different phone!) and got some kind of corporate travel agency. Scamtacular.

I got the "Christopher" call from (708) 898-2811. Same thing. I called (866) 312-9553 ext.109 and this is VANDELL Communications. "Jared" was taking calls for Christoher. Said they got my number from a contest I entered. I told him I didn't enter a contest so he said I should disregard the call. I went on to ask why they called me knowing I was on the DNC list and he repeated that since I entered a contest they were allowed to call. I again told him that I didn't enter. I asked him what this contest was, or if this was some type of scam. He said it wasn't a scam and he wouldn't know about which contest until I gave him my information. He wanted my name and I told him that according to them I entered a contest so they already had my name. He got fed up and hung up. I reported the numbers to the FTC and the DNC Registry.

Mitchell Comm called and left a message that I entered a contest 12-18 months, I won a car, and it's in my best interests to call back. Sunday afternoon call.

3:25 PM EST 01/08/11.  1 call (ignored).  Rotten spammers.

I received a call from Christopher at Mitchell Comm....same thing as all the other posts.  I supposedly entered a contest and won a car or other top prize and it would be in my best interest to call back.  Also said that they were aware of the DNC list and they were not a telemarketer.  Of course I did not call back.  Said he made numerous attempts to reach me but I never received a call from them before. I also never entered any contest.  I don't answer any call that I'm not familiar with.  Glad I checked it out on this website though.

I just had the same thing.  Same caller id and number as Pat.  I said "hello?" when I answered...and as normal telemarketers' calls do, it took a second for someone to come on the line.  When they finally did, the man sounded like he was in a tin can and said "oh I'm sorry.  I have the wrong number." and hung up.  ????

I received 2 calls from Christopher at 866-312-9553 saying that I won a car. I do on occassion enter contests but this didn't seem like this was anything that I had entered. I have gotten in the habit of googling phone numbers like this and glad I saw how many people have received similar calls.

I just received a call from 708-898-2613...caller ID said Mitchell Commu.  I happened to be home and picked up the phone...person on the other end panicked said they had a wrong number and hung up fast.  Will be blocking that number from getting through again.

My wife received a voicemail yesterday from this number, saying she'd won a car, and to call back at 866-312-9553.  Then I received a voicemail at 6:30am today from the same guy, telling me the same thing.  If I hadn't turned my ringer off before bed last night, I would have been really ticked to have been woken up by this jerk.  He said his name was Christopher, and he was calling from "Van Damme Communications."  He also said he's not a telemarketer, and he's aware of the DNC list, etc.  That's like getting a spam email that says "This is not spam."  What a dirt bag.  Thankfully I have Google Voice, so I marked his number as spam, and if he ever calls back he'll get a recording saying my number is no longer in service.

This is a one man/woman spam site working at 325 Royal Oak Drive, Steger, IL. 60475. Anyone reading this post, please report this call to the FTC to see if we can close the operation. Scum like this needs to be put out of business.

I also received a call from this same number.  Man said he was "Paul" from Facebook Marketing and that I had entered a contest within the last 18 months, which I have not.  Also said last chance so in my best interest to call back at toll free number 866-312-9553 Ext 243.  I haven't entered contest and will not return call either.  Caller ID did also say Mitchell Communications.

My elderly Mother received this call last night around 9:30 PM!!!!! I was out at that time or else I would have told this guy where to go! No one should call after 9:00 pm on a weeknight! This 'David' guy claimed that I, not my Mother, should call him right away, that is was VERY important and urgent that he get in touch with me. I told her that I didn't know any 'David' except for my ex-husband and I sure as heck don't want to talk to -him-. This is definitely a scam. I am on the Do Not Call list too and have been since 2005. I send all these numbers to the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint report. It is time consuming, but it seems to have cut down on some of the useless calls we get. I go out for some groceries and return to find my Mother all freaked out about this 'important' call. I hate these people who do this. I personally am out of work right now, but I swear, I would never take a job like this, something to scam people. I would not do it. Even if I had to starve, I would not take a job like this. This guy or company or whatever it is is getting reported right NOW.

All of a sudden this AM three phones rang at the same time. We have a home phone, a home office phone, and my cell which has our river house phone forwarded to it. I began answering them, one was from the above number, the others were from 708-856-0829 and 708-898-2811.  the person in the same voice said on all three "sorry wrong number" so it was a recording. We are on the state and federal do not call list.

this is ridiculous. I have same story as the rest. Dave from Mitchel Communications saying I entered contest and won. Isn't there anything we can do to stop these crooks. Even though I'm registered on DNC I would say about 25-50% of the calls I recieve are from telemarketers or scam artists. Only my parents and my wife's parents have our number so I realize my % is high considering we don't get a lot of personal calls, but still. There isn't a week that goes by that we don't recieve numerous calls from charities & scammers alike. We don't give our number out online and we aren't involved in any shady businesses. I just graduated from Medical School and have started my residency and my wife is a 4th year med student. I just don't get it, and wish the government could regulate this. If anyone knows of an effective way to report these con artists please let me know.

They left a message on voice mail telling me this was my last chance (yeah, right!) to claim the prize I had won. I haven't entered any contests, so this is bogus. I'm beginning to think the do not call list is bogus, too. These scam calls are increasing.

708-898-2613 showed on the caller ID as well as Mitchells Commu.  I googled the number and saw the other posts from Larry and Fran.  The caller left a voicemail implying that I entered a contest during the last 18 months and that I was chosen as a finalist.  The caller "Dave" also said he is aware of the DNC list but since I entered a contest, it was okay for him to call.  "Dave" said it was in my best interest to call back as soon as possible.

I do not enter contests so this has SCAM written all over it.  Don't answer the phone if this number appears!

Same as Fran....I supposedly had my name entered in a contest sometime during the last 18 months and "it would be in my best interest" to call back re: winning a new car, or other top prize.  This is obviously a phising scam.  Thank God for answering machines!


Caller read Michells Commu   The only listing I could find was Mitchells Communication Group, but I dont know if that was the actual company or not.

Supposedly I won some contest I entered within the last 18 months. Man on phone said this is not a telemarketing or time share offer. It is so hard to resist not calling back.
