Just got a call from them on a brand new #.  They asked for the owner of the old # and even after I explained to them they had the wrong party-they went right into their spiel about how they are TIA and collecting money for the will County police department and others.  He thought I hung up and started saying "Hello...hello".  Then I got to listen to him talk to all his co-workers about how I was begging to give him $35 but the head of household got "all pissed off and hung up"  Heard some other interesting discussions from these sleazebags before the call got disconnected.  NEVER GIVE MONEY TO ANYONE CALLING YOU SAYING THEY REPRESENT A POLICE ORG-THEY DON'T.

Called and said, Hi Jim, Bye Jim, Love you Jim. Very odd at 9pm

Good grief.  Another phone scam operation asking for money.  They get around the do not call list because they are a charity. I understand with tough times legitimate charities have to use these phone solicitors, but I refuse to give money over the phone.  Legitimate charities are going to have to find other ways to collect money.  The admin cost of most these phone "SCAMS" is too high.  Some have such loopholes that only 4% goes to the charity, while the rest goes to some "guido" in Florida living on the beach and playing golf all day.  Stop calling!  I advise everyone to use call blocking technology and never pick up a call without a valid caller ID.  It is a shame we can no longer pick up our phones without getting scammed.  I know people need jobs, but telemarketing is OVER!  That goes for bill collection too.  Use the mail or take the person to court.

I just got threatened by the caller from this number when I told them to take me off their list and quit calling.  They never tell me who it is and usually when I ask, they hang up.  If you call the number back and let it ring, a recording finally answers that the company does not accept "private callers". I have reported them to the BBB.

Called on Sunday evening, November 15, 2009. Guy said he was with fraternal order of police and was collecting money for juvenile something to help keep kids off the streets  . My husband told them last time they called over the summer that the FBI was on to them and their scams and not to call back again.  Guess they forgot. They really should get a job, and stop ripping people off!!!!

the phone rings, the voice says to stay on the line untill the next representative. I wait and the line hangs up and does a busy signal.

Very annoying, but never got a real person.

Got another call from them on my old number.  Didn't answer and they didnt leave a message.  See my previous note about them in August.  They are liars and crooks stealing money from people by pretending to be a charity organization. Better to never answer calls from this number.

This number has just started calling me at 10 minutes to 9pm every night. Whe I call back to see who it is either it keeps ringing or busy signal.

Same as the others.  The caller told me to wait for the next representative and then they hung up.  Since they're not staying on line long enough to beg for money, is the purpose of the call just harrassment?

Lots of noise in the background, like there was a call-a-thon or something; when I picked up he was still having a conversation with someone in the background. He asked for me by name, and when I asked who was calling, he asked again. This went through 3-4 loops of "is ___ there?" "who's calling?" I finally said I could take a message, and he said to say that "Jay" called. Never identified himself beyond that.

Received this call on 7/31.  Wish for Children a charity for kids that sounds like but isn't Make a Wish Foundation.  I declined.

Caller ID said Oak Lawn. Did not pick up. It was another one of those annoying hangups.

Said he was with TIA, a professional charity.  Hardly a professional sounding guy.  Hope his legs fall off.

Called - no message.  I don't answer if caller ID doesn't identify.

A man asked for me by name. He said that his name was Jason calling from a Police Department. Very sketchy sounding man and lots of noise in the background.

got this Oak Lawn ID call - when I answered no one spoke back. I called back and line was still busy, I waited a few minutes and then no one picked up. I didn't wait that long for an answering machine

Relentless calling, caller ID showed Oak Lawn, IL.  Answered and got a recording saying it would transfer me to the next available operator and then disconnected.  Call blocked them, seems the only thing you can do since reporting it does absolutely nothing

Got calls from this number before. I never answer unidentified calls. Got a call 8:58 8/19. This is an Oaklawn #. Did not answer again and after reading other comments glad I didn't.
