I'm in PA and we get calls from this number often. Shows up as "ST. JOHN S NL 709-702-1035" and a person with a heavy Indian accent claims to be with our electric company. He goes on about how we can pay a lower rate and then wants to confirm address and account numbers. I'm sure they are scammers trying to get your account info.

This company calls several times a week and even if I answer, they just hang up

I picked up the call with the caller ID "St Johns NF." I'm in Pennsylvania. A woman with a thick Indian accent couldn't pronounce my name correctly or the name of the company (our electric company) that she said she represented. First, I told her that I have an invalid father who needs my attention, and I wasn't interested in anything she had to sell. She wanted to know if I wanted our rates lowered and needed to confirm some information. So I told her to send me any information and that I would take it up with the company on my own. I told her that I wasn't going to provide any information or confirm any information and that I didn't trust that she was the person she said she was. Finally, I told her to stop calling and hung up. I've been getting more and more unsolicited phone calls, and I don't know if it's better to ignore them. Once you answer the phone, the caller knows he/she has a live nuimber. Anyway, I really do have an invalid father, and these phone calls are beyond annoying. My father's well-being is at stake.

No message. Just "Newfoundland" on my caller ID.

I just got one too. Came up Newfoundland. They left no message. Has to be the online pharmacies because we're getting a ton of that and they won't take no for an answer. Get them from all over the US. So it doesn't surprise me that they're using numbers from outside the country.

Caller ID showed "Newfoundland" and the number. I didn't answer. I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. Why is Newfoundland calling us? No message left. I could assume it's a wrong number - but that's quite a wrong number to be dialing! Given our heated presidential campaigns, I'm not answering any phone calls whose numbers I don't recognize from now through November.
