about half an hour ago i got a missed call from 7099958762, i tried to call but it didn't work, then i tried 411, but again, all i got was Newfoundland and Labrador

Same deal, called me 1:05 while I was in the school library.
Didn't answer, checked it out, total scam, don't pick up.

Also on Jan. 7th, about 4pm in B.C., got a computer-voice call on my cell phone - my number isn't listed anywhere, said I've been selected for a prize, and asked to press 1.  Didn't.  Google search on the caller's apparent number showed this website with other reports.  Must be a scam, from the other report about a person wanting credit card info to get a prize.

Had a call this afternoon Jan 7/09 same as all the above. Call back and # is not in service...looked it up on the net and that got me to this page to see all the other folks having the same deal goin on. I'm interested now, need some answers.

got a recording saying "Congratulations! Your telephone number has been selected for  prize. Please press 1 to claim your prize"

I did also received a called from 709-995-8762 and a woman talked to me telling me I won a trip worth $2500 and asked me for my credit card inorder to release the proze. she would not give it to me unless I gave her my credit card number

Have received numerous calls from this number to my cell.  Finally decided to do a reverse lookup  (as I know several people in Newfoundland but did not recognize the number).  Nothing showed up. called it and got a recording saying my call could not be completed as dialed"

Obviouslly whomever it is is using a diverter or "spoof" card to hide their true number.  To my knowledge no legit company would do this.

A guy at my work suggested that it could be a dummy number that calls are being routed through to keep the "real" number secret.

I received a call from this tel 2.5 hours back. Not sure who it is leading me to trace the tel to this web site.

I did get a call from this number also and when I returned the call it says that number is not assigned. Does anybody has an idea of what is that number from???? I looked up on the internet and nothing comes up but it sees to be from New foundland

Got a call from this number on my cell. Picked it up, heard an automated voice say "Congratulations!" and hung up.

Apparently the area code is Newfoundland? No idea who this is.
