Here's a solution.................

If you have time to take the call (lunch etc.) start answering all their questions, but with incorrect information.

Drag it on as long as possible...

When he/ she realizes that you have been wasting his time, only then tell him how is that any different with the BS that you are feeding me.  Take me off your list or I will continue to do it when you call.

You can help keep after these bozos to shut them down.

File a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission:

1. Go to: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
2. FIll in the info requested.
3. At the end select the box making your complaint a sworn statement, to give it some teeth if the FCC goes after them.

This is the message left on my VM.  I have no credit cards by the way.

"This is regarding your credit card account. This is your second and final notice to reduce your current credit card interest rate to as little as 6.9% and you should have received in the mail.  Press one now to speak to our friendly customer service representative. The only requirement that you must have at least $6,000 in total credit card debt between all of your credit card account. And one of them and good standing.  Press one to speak to pull by Representative, and press 3, to be removed from this list."

I'm pretty sure this is one of the numbers I've reported before.  It's identical to calls I've received from other numbers.  When I answered, I was "greeted" with an automated message from a female voice about lowering my interest rates.  Interesting since I have no balances.  I was warned that this is my final notice for this offer (then why have I received so many such calls).  I pressed "1" to speak with a person.  I asked the person if she was familiar with the Federal Do Not Call list and informed her I would be reporting the number to the FCC.  She hung up on me as I was speaking.  Please file complaints as you receive calls.  Here is the link to report them https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

they told me that I was JOSH...   how funny, pressed 1 to talk to rep to ask to be removed and she said first thing to me that "I (SHE) was irritated that I keep pressing one to talk to her...."   what a scam
It seems that Josh has been a thorn in their side .. good luck with this battle.

didn't answer as I didn't recognize the phone number, I've been getting a lot of calls from area codes that I don't recognize and won't answer. Ignoring calls doesn't seem to help.

Lucky me, I missed the call on my cell phone, I am on the do not call list for my cell phone and home phone.  I'm beginning to think the do not call list is how they get phone numbers.

This call showed on cell phone as 1 (712) 225-255  (No typo, that's exactly as it appeared.)  Naturally, I didn't answer and no message was left.  I searched on 800notes, adding a different number on the end each time.  This is obviously the same number.

Recorded message on "Final notice to reduce your credit card interest rate".  I hung up.

One thing that I always do is save these numbers in my phone, then letting them go directly to voice mail.  They are going to call anyway, so this way I don't get bothered with the call.

Maybe just a coincidence, but I've never had this number call me before, until I try using a MoneyGram kiosk to load money on to a Netspend pre-paid debit card. I ended up hanging up on the instore phone that dialed a MG customer service person. I gave them my cell phone number and driver license number, but balked at giving them Social Security number. Coincidence? Dunno, but maybe someone else will recognize a similar pattern.

Interesting thing, I had not been getting ANY solicitation calls UNTIL I placed my number on the DO NOT CALL list ??? So,.... I don't know, just a loss for words. I just don't answer any calls unless I recognize the phone number - so leave a message, if you are LEGIT I'll call you back.

This is not a debt collector... this is a company that is trying to steal your credit cards and commit fraud. They have contacted me several times from many numbers and not one of them can u call back. They say they can lower your interest rate and all you have to do is give then your card number, expiration date and the billing zip code and then they will call the automated line and :make sure" your limits are not extended. And if you have at least 50% available then they will help lower your rates. They said that if your credit is maxed out then they cannot help you. I told him all my credit cards are paid off and he said that he cannot lower the interest rate but can still verify the accounts. I informed the rep that every time i call i get a fast busy and he said that is because the are an outbound call center only. He refused to give me a direct telephone number the reach the company and refused to give me a corporate address. All he said was that they are located in s Florida. I asked what tomn he was in and he said that he didn't know> I asked how he got to work without knowing where he was going and he just said that he just knows by driving. I asked for the supervisor or manager and he said that i cannot talk to them unless i filled out an application first. HMMM.... No direct contact number, no address, no credit check to approve the customer, just said that once we give him the information all contacts will be through email???? Sounds like an overseas scam for identity theft. After a 35minute conversation i politeley thanked him for his time and informed him that all he did was try to run me in circles until i gave it. I did inform him that the only thing i had gotten from the conversation was a 30minute recording of the call and a trace on the telephone number.... Can u guess what happened next??? CLICK... CALL ENDED>>>>
