I live in Florida and got a recorded message from CenterPoint ENR today. The recorded message didn't identify themselves basically soliciting legal services against harassing phone calls and foreclosures. I'm on the do-not-call list and filed a complaint immediately. These solicitors thumb their noses at the do-not-call registry.

I did not answer--they left no message

We received a call from 713.207.7022, Centerpoint Energy. Our machine picked up with a warning to solicitors. They hung up immediately. There was no message, so I would assume it was monitored by a human. We're on the "do not call list", so I think I will report this.

Same info as documented above.
Clearly a scam. I punched 4 to talk to an agent. "All agents are busy now. Please leave your name and number and we'll call you back."
There has to be a way to shut these creeps down.

" I selected '4' to speak with an agent, intending to try and get my number out of their %@(*& system, but was invited to leave a message"
Leave the phone number for your local District Attorney

Centerpoint Energy telling me about illegal foreclosures, how they can help, on and on. Since I don't have a mortgage, gotta figure they found me on some mailing list, likely from the government. I selected '4' to speak with an agent, intending to try and get my number out of their %@(*& system, but was invited to leave a message. I then hung up.

Today I received my first call from 713 207 7002 which my old telephone screen identified as ?Centerpoint Ene.? (I need a wider screen.) It took less than five minutes to find that a similar number, 713 207 7225. belongs to the ?Report Electricity Theft? option for Centerpoint Energy?s Houston branch. I figure the number used to call today would be attached to them in some way. I live in the Pacific Northwest. We get no energy from Texas. Go figure.
Why I would get a recording about mortgages is beyond me. I rent. And I get a mortgage related offer from what appears to be a number attached to an energy company in Houston? Again, go figure.
The robo-call prattled on about banks and their insidious ways with mortgages. She speaketh some Truth. But then the nice young lady robot went on to tell my answering machine how they could help., ?Just press 4.? Now, she speaketh that which is False. I?m just too damned old to believe that an unsolicited offer of help is ever legitimate. Try again, Robo-babe, but this time lead with how damned handsome I am. If you?re going to lie to me, at least make it amusing.

If they are Centerpoint Energy, they do not provide service in my state, so whiy would they call me? If they are a company that fixes mortgages, I don't have a mortgage, so why would they call me?????
A scam by any other name is still as scam IMHO.

Company Name was Centerpoint ENR
They Said: Mortgage companies are taking illegal advantage of mortgage holders and they are working with the Federal Government program to help home owners get a deal I forget what they called the federal program was HF something or other, sounded very professional and convincing, do not know if it was ligit or not. When I tried to do a search on the company, I came up with an energy company.

Received a call from 713-207-7002 today at 1pm for the first time. Caller ID said "17132077002". I didn't answer and they left a voice message about "home mortgages" or something. I didn't listen to the entire message. Obviously a telemarketer or some sort of scam.
