Got a call from Caprck at 10pm.  The caller ID number was different though...713-445-5431.  Weird.

Over the past 3 months someone from this number calls in the middle of the night.  I've had at least 12-15 phone calls.  If I answer, they hang up. It stops ringing after the 4th ring.  Who is this?

If you want a good card get the at&t internationsal or just get a magic jack. If you can't get that try getting a yahoo or skype out account to call the US. It's cheap and will save you money.

When my cell rang, I fumbled through my pocket past my comb and discovered it was from this number.  I answered it and it was Elvis.

I have a question..how do we buy calling cards to sent to them to make calls back to the U.S? I read that the calls are routed through a Houston number but I am clueless at to what card to buy can someone tell me a brand name??

That number is from Iraq.  And not only dead beat moms go there, but I have a dead beat ex-husband that works for KBR and is in IRAQ and he never pays child support.

Many poster's are correct,this is a number for employees of KBR.
My brother works for them in Iraq in pest control.
After recently getting a call from him I learned that's how the phones are relayed because they are not allowed to have personal phones in which may have numbers of relatives on them.

Someone keeps calling me from 713-289-3400 (CAPRCK). I never answer the call and they never leave a message.  Now that I see this site, I would like to know who are these people and what do they want?

As other people have said it is defo the number for KBR LOGCAP in Iraq & Afghanistan.What happens the Civvy Contractor over there will place the call through a Sattelite link to the states and they then patch it through to the number requested but 9 times out of 10 the US operator will get the number wrong and you end up waking up some poor sod at 2am. I worked over there for a year and this happened on a regular basis to the extent that i pulled a few strings with my old Military Mates and blagged use of their sat phones.

Called at 3 am, I missed it and they didn't leave a message phone # 281-669-3095, I don't know anyone working in Iraq!

Person called twice and hung up the first time after I answered as a business. On the sencond call the person stated they thought it was a personal cell phone.

The call came on 1/26/08 at 10:48:PM. I didn't answer the call because of the time; however, I saw this number on my caller ID. There was no message left.

I got a call from 7134454881. I think it was a friends that works in iraq. I answered the phone and recognized him but he said they were looking for someone else. I hope they call again. I tried calling the number back but some man said they had the wrong number. I am sure it was him.

This number is from someone calling from Iraq or overseas that works for KBR. Its an operator number they call in Houston that patches them through to whoever they are calling.

Got a call from Caprck, guy said his name was Samuel Benford and was in Iraq inquiring about my home I have for sale by owner and was interested in possibly purchasing it.  He said he would be coming in on Thursday and wanted to see the house on Friday.  He said he purchases houses and rents them outto college students.  The number he called me from was 1-713-445-5661 out of Houston, TX.  He gave me an email address of samuelbenford@yahoo.com to send pictures of the house to him.  This all sounds fishy to me.

This call is from people that work for KBR in Iraq, If you know anyone working over there all calls come through a KBR (Houston,TX) number from Satelite so expect a slight (1-2 second delay) after you answer the phone before you hear the other person on the other end, just don't hang up on them as sometimes its very hard to even get calls out depending on where they are actually working at.

Hope this helps as I'm leaving to go back to Afghanistan again, and can tell you from experience as calls from Afghanistan all route through Houston also and the slight delay takes some getting use to, but worth the wait if you know someone working over there.

It's not a prank, per se. As others have said, it is someone overseas calling stateside. I have a friend who is a US gov't contractor working in Afghanistan. He has called from this particular number before as well as other "713" numbers. See the posts by "Bill" and "Kasey" above. Now, that's not to say that someone working over there isn't bored and wasting money making prank calls. But, legit calls do come from this number.

Received call and caller asked for someone that did not live at this resident, so I told him it was a wrong number.  He called back a few minutes later and said he was sorry for bothering me again, but would I tell him who belonged to this phone number.  Well, I told him I would not give out my name, but that it was just me and my wife and that this was a residence phone number.  He said something stupid about someone was calling his 'Old Lady' from this phone number in the middle of the night and hung up.  This was not someone calling from Iraq.

I'm glad I found this site.  My step son's mother is a real loser and has been lying to him for the past 5 months.  She called a hand full of times, always from a 713 number, but claims she's living and working in town and can't seem to call from a local number.  I had my suspecions about where she was (this will be the second time she's snuck out of the country without telling anyone), but this just confirms it for me.  

Just to put it all to rest for those that are saying they're prank calls or scam calls - it's not.  She called from the exact posted number 713-289-3400 twice along with another.  You gotta keep your eye on those child support skipping, parental responsibility avoiding, outstanding liars that like to call themselves "good moms (or dads)."

We get calls from a friend stationed in Iraq from that number

some guy just called me and asked for Chris.
I told him no one here with that name.
Been getting calls from 713 area code, Houston.
I live in Orlando Florida and don't have friends in Houston.
