Lots of noise in the background, no message

I got a call from this number and answered it. It was solitication for local police department support (monitary of course).  It sounded like it was from a guy standing in the wind on a cell, as though along a road.  When I declined, and asked him to remove my phone number, he wanted to know why I wasn't supporting them again this year.  I told him that it was because I support in other ways (my nephew is local police and son-in-law in state police, but I didn't tell him those details).  He said, "fine, we'll leave it at that".  What a rude statement!  Solicitors get 85% of what I would donate, so why would I want him to forward only 15% of what I give, and who is to ensure he forwards even that?

Just got a call at 8:30 PM and ran to find the phone to answer.  I did answer and all I got was silence despite saying "Hello" in my most aggitated voice.  Seems like I've been getting an abundance of mystery calls like this lately.  Thought the do not call list would remedy us all of these mystery calls.  It annoys me beyond words.

This number has been calling but I don't recognize the number and I don't answer it...  I called it back but the phone keeps ringing with no answer and no machine....  I'll pick it up next time.

got a call, yesterday and today, Fri the 2nd at 2:08pm and Sat 01/03/2009 at 11:07am.  I picked it up, no one said anything.  I heard nothing, I hung up.  I tried calling it with my number blocked and all I get is a busy signal.  I only answered it thinking it was someone's cell but no idea what it is nor why it is calling.

I get a call from this number daily - I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  Must not be important!
