so far three different scam calls this week.  I am at the point that if I don't recognize the number I don't answer, no one ever leaves a message either.

Please tell me if it's a telemarketer an if so I would like to block.

They keep calling and calling.  Never pick up, leave it to the answering machine.  This has been going on for months!  Still not as bad as those 876 codes coming from Jamica telling me I had won millions.  What a joke.  But so annoying to be expecting a important call and go running for the phone and it is one of those jerks!!  I get between 10-15 scam calls per day and it has been going on since Jan.

Yes me too! It's all the same  person or scam. They will call and hang up a bunch of time to get your attention, then you call and leave a message to get on their no call list (which is how they obtain your name btw) and then they call you using your name and try to convince you they are some kind of company and scam information or money out of you. They are in almost every state it's ridiculous !!!

The guy yelled at me when I told him I am on the no call list. He literally yelled and in a teasing way told me that he could call me whenever he felt like it. He knew my name too! I blocked the numbers. There's one from Texas, that's 713-357-5251, there's another from ny 646-558-2860 and another from California 858-926-2014. They told me I won't a subscription to a website. They are definitely a scam!

I had 16 calls yesterday!!!  Ignored them all.  Will not try to block them or get a silent ring to assign to these numbers.

I have so many of these - the call block feature on my phone (30) is full, and the call block feature through my phone service (20) is full!  And I'm still getting them!   Anyone know of a service or feature like they have for cell phones that can be used on land lines??

I am in Canada and these idiots are calling from the states so our do not call list doesn't work!

Does anyone know of a service that I can enter these phone numbers to that will continuously call and leave them voice mails? I've had 3 calls this week all from different numbers but they are all from "Market Max" and they want me to go to some website, obviously a scam. I've made a game of it to see how much they will take before they hang up on me, so far my record is 15 seconds.

they ask for me by first then full name on message. they don't say who they are or what they want. I found a great way to stop any unwanted calls from another site like this. ***put their number in your cell phone contact list and silence the ring from that number. Then use a free voicemail service called YouMail at YouMail.com. Add the number in that contact database and assign a voicemail greeting which give the out of service tone (http://lifehacker.com/343595/trick-automated- ... lling-you-again) and message. Problem solved. At the most you will only need to answer the call one time. When its a sales or scam call do the above and you will not hear or be bothered by another call from that number.*** I believe you could use this special info tone on any voice mail out going message system. only pick up phone calls that have numbers of people you know and want to talk with.

I received a call from this number and many other numbers doing the same thing.  I Was told to put my number on the list of "NOT BEING CALLED" and it has not done anything.  Waste of time and so annoying.

I just had a call from this number. They hung up after I answered it. This is a phishy phone call.

I always give a skype number ( free ) when I need to give my phone to others ( except to close friends). I decided not to give my cell phone to anyone that I don't know. When I have to complete a form or something, again, I always use my skype number!  I suggest you'all to do the same.
Normally if  it is serious they can leave a message, and then I call them back.
This number is obviously scam because they have been calling me  several times, and they never leave any messages.
I believe it is a tele-market .

Calls, leaves no message. Recently I've been getting a lot of these types of calls. Strange numbers from New York, Boston, Houston and Arizona. I recently started an account with Linkedin, maybe that has something to do with it.

Just got a call from this number at 5:11 pm on Friday February 8, 2013.  Very annoying indeed!  I seem to get lots of calls from bizarre numbers.

you can't report someone to the police for cursing at you.  if that were true, i would have been locked up for a long time now.

Yeah, some lady called and asked for me by my first name.  When I asked who was calling she just said she'd try another time then hung up on me.  CallerID shows "Texas,"  I recognize the area code- Houston, TX.  I receive similar calls from "New York," "Illinois," "Maryland," and "Idaho."  I am super popular.

They usually stop calling my landline when I pick up, say nothing, and just hold down a button so all they hear is an annoying tone.  When they try to hang up it usually won't allow them to until I disconnect which angers them.  This amuses me.  I highly suggest this tactic.

I wish I knew what scumbag company sold our information to these people.

GOT THREE CALLS TODAY FROM THIS NUMBER.   MUST BE A "REAL IMPORTANT" MESSAGE THEY WANT TO BRING BUT THEY DON'T THINK IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO LEAVE AN URGENT  MESSAGE THAT IDENTIFIES THEIR COMPANY AND FOR US TO CALL THEM UPON RECEIPT OF THE CALL.  I SUSPECT SPAM.  MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION IS NOT TO ANSWER ANY CALLS THAT DO NOT IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND LEAVES  A MESSAGE.  THEN AND ONLY THEN I CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT TO RETURN THE CALL.  WE ARE ON THE "DO NOT CALL LIST" ALSO.  GOOD TO HEAR THAT THE FTC IS ALSO INEFFECTIVE.  BOTH ARE PRODUCTS OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALSO A JOKE AND INEFFECTIVE TODAY.

Don't waste your time to complain to the police that someone was rude and cursed at you. As for the FTC they are a joke and the do not call list is a joke. I've contacted the FTC for repeated credit card sales calls. They require a ton of paperwork and details. Unless you want to stay on the phone to get those details they won't have the evidence. So they call and you hang up after telling them to remove your number and they still call, you have to do a lot to file a complaint. I did and never heard back from the FTC and the calls continued for a few more months. What I ended up doing and it only works on a cell phone is to put their number in you phone contact and silence the ring from that number. Then use a free voicemail service called YouMail at YouMail.com. Add the number in that contact database and assign a voicemail greeting which give the out of service tone and message. I have had the exact same experience.

No telemarker is allowed to curse at you.  Report them to your police department asap!  I would also reprt them to the FTC at FTC.gov - hope this helps you out.
