Just got off the plane and heard this message.  I called my local police and they had no idea what the gal was saying.  I then googled and found this page.  These people should be locked up.  Harassing innocent people.

Lots of threads here under various numbers. And no, this is extortion/scam/fraud! Go down to the dept yourself and file a complaint (they also need to know their number is being used and abused), and also file complaints with the FBI, State attorney general, FTC,FCC..   Read up on your rights as well! Both state and federal.

Owing a bill is not a crime, it is also a civil matter and there are rules and laws on this.

I got the same call. The number is from my local police office but this lady left me a voicemail saying they have complaints against me  ... something related to Dept of Financial Crime something.   I should turn myself in at the local police or contact him.  They will issue a NOTARIZED (?)arrest warrant.    Arrest warrants have to be notarized?

I got one of these calls before but ignored and got another one today.  Both went to voice mail.  The first time I let it go to voice mail I picked it up midway and hanged up.  If it were legit they would have called back bec they knew someone was home. I knew they were scams but its just funny what they come up with.

The lady with a heavy accent tried to sound urgent that I could not understand what she was saying.
Something about complaints with the Dept of Financial Crime something.  State Police Dept. If they receive more complaints from an officer ?? O'Brian and that I should turn myself in at the local police or contact him.  They will issue a NOTARIZED (?)arrest warrant.    Arrest warrants have to be notarized?

My 2nd phone line is listed under a pseudo name and they call asking for Mr. Psuedo Name, so I know they are scanning the white pages to cold call.

They called knowing my name and where I lived saying that they were from the FBI and I owed the IRS money. They said their names were Jack Hauffman and Kawai, they wanted money in cash. One of them had an indian accent. They're a scam, don't respond.

I just got this call from a man claiming to be from another county's police department. This isn't anything but a scam, I had another version of this a few months ago who claimed I would be arrested (on my dad's behalf, mind you...) in 30 minutes. Rest assured, I haven't been arrested, ever.

These calls are going around!!  They will change their caller ID to read the local law enforcement agency near you to make it look more official. They leave the same message as above.  When you call, they want you to send money because you UNDER PAID the IRS.  They will ask you to get a money card and then give THEM the card number so they can retrieve the money.  TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!!
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They go by:  FINANCIAL CRIME & ENFORCEMENT NETWORK - DEPT. OF IRS.

My family received similar call from a lady claiming  to be from state police department asking for me and telling my family I should return their call within 30-40 minutes to 713-357-6055 (and ask for Thomas O'Brian), Also, they said I f I do not return call then they will issue arrest warrant.

I called them back to know that I have 3 federal charges and it will cost few thousand dollars if I decide to face the court, else he can resolve if I pay him couple thousand dollars thru merchandise card or debit or visa card. I called police and I was told this is scam and just to ignore it.

A lady from local number (a PA police station number - look at the end of message) asked to contact Brian at 713-357-6055. When I called him, he said I have federal tax issues and they are going to file 3 charges against me tomorrow. If police arrests me and take to court, I would pay $15000. If I settle with them now I can pay $3000. He didn't allow me to hang up even though I said, will call you in 10 min, I hung up and went to the police station right away. Police officer told, there is no women officer at work around the time I got call. He called the number above and when he started talking about it, they hung up.

Also, the police station number I got the call is for ppl to contact police. Outgoing calls won't have that number. So something fishy! Hope nothing happens.

Caller left a message (in an Indian accent) asking me to surrender to the local police or call Officer Steven Fox on 713-357-6055. I have never been to Texas. I live in New Jersey. It cites some violation of the Department of Silence
