Yes it Would Be Nice to be able to pay money to any lender and Know that Even placing a Bad Report on Your Credit File is not going to control You. It is A Fact that simplifies Your Peace of Mind.It does not make any difference the number of calls that You Receive from them each day.The Time Shall Arrive when You are going to verify whom You owe without speaking with them over the telephone, email or snail mail  ...especially when the number was never given to them from You ! ! ! The Conversation Need Not Occur since They are not in Person when You receive a phone Call, text, email or snail mail.Once You Earn Money and Discover that Your Information has been sold many times and after awhile duplication occurs and there is not a need to pay one debt over and over.It should be paid only once and proof in writing that they shall remove the report on your credit file.

Prank Call
I received three calls from this number last month, but because my cell phone was turned off, I never answered the calls.  Fortunately, Chase Student Loans called from a legitimate phone number in the 866 area code.  I returned their call, knowing that my daughter was late with her monthly payment.  To be certain the phone number was legit, I deliberately gave the wrong response to my first security question (mother's maiden name) and the rep told me My answer was incorrect.  I gave the correct answer to the second question ( father's birthplace).  A scammer would not have known this.

I am glad that I checked the number on this website and will be sure to warn friends who consigned there kids' college loans.  John's story comes as somewhat of a surprise; was it a lucky guess that the caller knew my family had a Chase student loan?  Or did a hacker steal this information from Chase Bank?

Incidentally, I am on the federal do-not-call list.  But that doesn't mean squat to people who don't operate within the law.  I understand there might be a way to block these calls, and I will discuss it with my cell phone company.

They are still trying the abusive and (if it was a collection agency) illegal tactic of multiple calls (8) in one day, deny they have any paperwork for deferment, claim you are in default (2 days late due to internet issues with their site), wrong balance info, and (now get this) do you think this is a legit call when you tell them to send what they have to you by mail and the answer is "we don't do that". end of call, bye bye scammer.

I have been receiving collections calls from chase for over a year and a half now about a year ago i was laid off on bed rest pregnant with my child, my husband was working but only enough to pay for a roof over our head i was in high risk pregnancy. I begged and pleaded for a forebearance but because i was close to three months passed due they said they wouldn"t grant one. I went back to work and started make $50 extra in the [payment a month but it all goes to their "late payments" it has been a year of this and i have paid faithfully for a year and they still reject a forebearance. They are rude they have called me names they call early in the morning til late at night and I work third shift and have an almost 6 month old baby so it is affecting my sleep. I told them by federal law that they are only allowed to call twice a day but they said they dont care what the law is they want their money, but I AM PAYING them all that I have, they are a very crooked company and i tell everyone not to go through them cause tihs will happen to them.

I co-sign a loan for my daughter with chase. yes they are the worse people. My daughter's hours at work were lowered so since I cosign this loan I do not want my credit to be ruin. I am a single parent and I try to make these payments on time but sometimes it is just so hard.  I did not actually know the terms of the loan till it was too late. For 5000.00 dollars it is a tweenty year pay pay of period. We will wine up paying them quaruple the amount I believe. I did such a stupid thing but u want to help your children. I agree they are the worst inconsiderate people that I have encounter in a bank. I hope I one day I can pay the amount off so they would stop harassing me day and night.

I am glad to know I am not the only one this has happened to. I work for the school system as a paraprofessional which doesn't pay much to start with. I had to take a leave of absence to do my studnet teaching. Then when I went back to work, the school system prorated my pay which caused it to be cut by $200 per month. I haven't been able to get a regular teaching job yet. I contacted all of my student loan creditors and requested a financial hardship deferrment. They all granted me one with no problem. All I had to do was submit my pay stub which clearly shows I don't make much. Chase was the only one that has refused to grant me a defferment or a forbearance. I even asked for a reduction in my payments to help me. They have refused to help me at all. They call me constantly and even on my cell phone harrassing me. I have been honest with them and explained my situation and they have refused to work with me.  I regret ever doing buisiness with them. I don't know what to do at this point. I am afraid of them suing me or something, but I can't pay $200 per month when I only bring home $500 a month plus my child support.

I have also been harassed by Chase to repay my student loan. I am in a financial hardship and they REFUSE to work with me on a forbearance or deferment. I also think it's crap that they won't even assist ANYONE with consolidation either. They need to be stopped. It's harassment when they call 25 times a day and never leave a message.

I get calls from them multiple times a day, and if a message is left it is so jumbled I cannot hear the entire call back number.  I graduated in December and my payments were due to start in June.  When I received my statement it said Zero amount due.  What the heck!?! I had even talked to them and confirmed that my payments would start in June. They have been calling since May!

it is chase education they will call you multiple times a day until you make the payment and if you set it up for a future date they will call you until that date has been reached it doesnt matter if their system shows that a payment will be made on a future date.

Calls my house every hour from this and other numbers (813-584-3017 & 602-221-6136) starting at 8:01 a.m. until 8:59 p.m. trying to collect on a Chase student loan for one of my children.  This student loan was supposed to be deferred until six months after graduation.  My child is STILL IN COLLEGE and is only a junior and they are already trying to collect.  They have been very rude and argumentative and refuse to listen to anything you try to tell them.  I have repeatedly requested that they stop harrassing me and they said they will continue to call us until they get a checking account number.  They don't even care that my child is still in college and have refused proof of enrollment.

I had a phone call from them while I was still in school except I was living in a dorm so my family members received the call every week. And then I had loan issues for school since my school changed the borrowers and didn't accept Chase anymore I was screwed. So I have been out of school for almost a year and not going to attend for a while again hopping I get into another school maybe a community college with some sort of payment. Anyways since it has been difficult to get a job since no one was hiring near me I had no way of paying for the payments. And I spoke to them couple of times about the situation and they wanted me to give them family members bank accounts or pull money out of my a** or families a** to hand it to them. It is understandable since I have been out of school and since I have no job and couldn't pay the payment. And we both destroyed my credit since I haven't payed any payments but common. Can't you like call once a month instead of every day. Nothing is going to change. And even if it was YOU ARE STILL CALLING ME EVERY HOUR ASKING ME ABOUT MY SITUATION AND CALLING ME IN THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON AND NIGHT ASKING ME THE SAME THING WONT CHANGE A THING.

Morning
------------
Ring ring ring
me: "Hello"

chase: "We are calling you about late payments."

me: "Yes i know I talked to you yesterday. And I told you that I am having difficulties getting a job. Places around my area and are not hiring or found someone more qualified since I have no experience. I can't do anything if they keep rejecting me besides applying to another job which I have been doing."

chase: "Well we have to send a report to the ....... and your credit will go bad."

me: "Yes I know."

chase: "Your co-signer's record will go bad too"

me: "Yes I know my father doesn't make that much and makes less then 19k a year"

chase: "Well can I have his bank account number so you can start making the $600+ monthly payments"

me: "No he is not here and I cant give that information out"

chase: "Well you have to start making payments I don't know what to say to you. Can you get money from other family members like your aunt, cousins, uncles....."

me: :"No because we wouldn't have any way of paying them back either way."

chase: "Well you can pay them back later."

me: It would be the same if I had a job and borrowed from them this month how would I pay you next month if that goes to them"

chase: "Well I don't know what to tell you. You owe use late fee's as well and late on multiple payments."

Afternoon
----------
Ring ring ring
me: "Hello"

chase: "We are calling you about late payments."

me: "I already talked to one of your collectors a few hours ago. And I told you that I am having difficulties getting a job and making the payment."

chase: "Oh okayWell we have to send a report to the ....... and your credit will go bad."

Yes this would be Chase Student Loans. They used to call me everyday leaving messages and I had to explain to them that I don't have a job right now but I am looking. I asked about a deferment and filled out the paperwork to apply for one but I didn't qualify so they keep asking me if I can get the money from other family members and I say no. I just keep telling them that I know this is looking bad on my credit and I want to get this taken care of but am unable to at this time. They have gotten a little better and arent as rude as they used to be and now I only get calls once or twice a week. Usually on the weekends which is really annoying. But I can handle it if its only once a week versus everyday. I can't wait until I can get a job or get back into school and just get them off my back.

I've sent Chase close to 10 letters of enrollment verification [I don't even graduate until spring] and they still won't stop calling me.  This company is HORRIBLE.  I'm looking into reporting them to some government agency or ...something.  They called me seven times last SUNDAY.  Absolutely ridiculous.

Sometimes message, but mostly just calls.  They start about 8 in the morning and call of and on all day long.  In fact, one just called at 7pm.  They call my son and my husbands cell phone, but do not leave messages.  My son called them back and explained he was waiting on his payment from sign up from guard, but they they don't care they want the payment now.  He told them he was unable to pay at this time, but would when his money was released.  They said they would continue to call until the payment was received no matter what.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. When I didn't have a job 6 months after graduating I applied for unemployment hardship /forebearance status on my student loans. The Federal loans got deferred with no problem. Chase denied the status but NEVER TOLD ME WHY!! Now they call from numerous numbers all day and into the night and most of the time don't leave messages. I add their numbers to my contact list and send the calls straight to voicemail. I am working now and making payments but it's not enough to satisfy them. Plan on consolidating debt later and dumping Chase!

What qualifies someone for a hardship forbearance? I'm pregnant and have been on bed rest a couple times. My husband just got out of the military. For two months our income has been zero and will continue to stay small since I am due to pop any day. We had to sell our furniture to get food money! If as a preggo with problems doesn't qualify, who does? They don't care. Started calling me before my due payment date, and told me to find another way to pay for it. They call so much! I was even in labor and delivery being checked for early labor when they called three times in ten minutes! I'm nervous the stress of this will progress my labor!

I have been getting calls from this number as well as several others. These numbers are an automated call about Chase Student loans. I don't have a student loan and haven't for over 25 years. The one I had way back when has been paid off since 1986.
As I am typing this their 813 area number just called me AGAIN, on my cell phone. I just hit ignore.
Isn't there anything we can do to stop this. This is harrassment. They have called me about 10 or 11 times between the 3 different numbers they call from today alone.

Yes. I have the same problem with these reps. They have to be the rudest people ever. I told then that I could not pay until Friday when I got paid, remind you that my account was only $18 past due at the time, and the rep told me thats unaccpetable. After going back and forthe with him for about 10 minutes he told me he will look at my account and see if there was a bank account on file where he could setup up automatic draft to come out of my account. I told him if he touched m account I would personally find him and choke the sh*t out if him then he told he doesnt have to take abuse and he will disconnect the call. LOL I had told him to stop calling me 30 seconds into the call.

I'm having the same exact problems.  These people are total a**holes.  Didn't gradute school until Jan 10, and they started calling me not even 30 days after i finished.  I explained to them i just graduted college and haven't found a job yet.  Then they began to ask me how i was supposed to pay other bills if i had no job.  I told them i didnt have any becuase i was living and home and my mother was helping me with bills until i found a job.  I told them i could send what i could afford but they didnt like that, so i asked wouldnt you rather have something then nothing at all.  I continued to explain to them i wasnt trying not to pay, i just couldnt afford it since i just graduated and trying to find a teaching job, they obviously dont know what the economy is like.  Then they began to tell me to ask people for the money.  So then i said, if i can get it for this month what im supposed to do for next month or the month after, you know what the f**ks said "borrow it" i didnt flip out that time, so i just told them i could pay it in 2 weeks.  The calls stopped until i missed the next payment.  So i tried to get a hardship or forebarence, didnt know i got denied and then they tell me i was denied because couldnt pay in the future and didnt have a job.  Now i was pissed and told them if i had a f****ng job i would be paying and how the hell do you know if i can pay in the future or not.  These people are complete a***oles and call all hrs even til 9pm on a sunday, a f****ng sunday.  I dont even answer the phone any more.  My wife answerd last week and they were very rude to her, they are lucy i dont answer cause id give it to them.

Read this to aware of your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You do not have to answer these calls, and you do not have to provide them with any information at all (your current income, etc). If they are harassing you in specific ways, there are options you can pursue.

wow that's a very interesting point you bring up, Jon.  I would like to know what others think about this.  I have been  harassed just like everyone has described and i googled the number and this thread came up.  However, I have only been called for 3 days... but it's been everyday!  I finally talked to them this morning (monday) and they guy was very persistent that I pay immediately through the phone.  I asked him if I could pay online and he asked me, "why?"  Seriously?  that's my own damn business... because I don't trust you, that's why!

Well, that's what I should've said anyway.  I don't even remember pulling loans from Chase, but I guess i have.  Anyway... I regret that i actually did give them my SSN... sucks.

So then I went to the website (cslservicing.com) to try to pay my bill online and he said he'd wait for me.  He gave me some log-in username and information and it didn't work.  Then he again insisted that I pay through the phone.  I was currently at work at the time and it started to pick up, so I told him I would call him back, but he was very insistent that I would pay immediately.  I told him that I was at work and I was busy... he said it would only take a few minutes and I said no again and hung up.  Jeez!

I'm just going to deal directly through an actual local branch and see if the phone calls keep coming.  Wish me luck hombres.

Prank Call
Hey guys,

I don't believe that you are receiving actual calls from a Chase representative. I believe you are victims of what's called "Spoofing". It's a new form of credit/ID theft. Basically the scam works like this:
The scammer finds students or their co-signers who have education loans. The scammer uses an internet program to "spoof" their phone # to appear as a different number. They call the person with the loans, making that person's caller ID displaythe "spoofed" number. in this case it displays the customer service lines for Chase Student Loan services.
The scammer then tries to get you to reveal sensitive information about yourself, under the guise of paying your student loans, restoring your account, acting as a collections agent, etc. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO. THIS INCLUDES BANK INFO, SOCIAL SECURITY INFO, FULL NAME, RELATIVES INFO, ETC. AN AGENT ACTING AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF CHASE WOULD NEVER ASK YOU FOR THIS INFO OVER THE PHONE.
You can tell these are fake calls, because no customer service agent or collection agent would use this kind of intimidation. (Note: There are exceptions to this rule, and if you search you can find some well publicized cases of companies being sued because of the heavy handed tactics their reps used with delinquent accounts, but these are the exceptions, not the rules.)
Just don't give out any vital info like that. If you have a stufent loan with a bank, they should already have your SS #, etc. They would NEVER ask you to verify over the phone. WHEN IN DOUBT, ASSUME THE PERSON CALLING AND HARASSING YOU IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. IF IT'S A LEGITIMATE CALL THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE OR THEY WILL CONTACT YOU BY MAIL.

First and foremost, I wish I would never have done any business with Chase and moving forward, will not do any business with JP Morgan or any of its affiliates.  I have a student loan with them and have fell a little behind, but have made attempts and payments to them, but even still they have not and will not work with me and continue the harassing calls.  Early in re-payment process, I was up-to-date with my billing, but foresaw some issues arising in the upcoming months.  I had filled the forbearance papers with them and had spoken to representatives over the phone.  I was told that my forbearance was accepted and that I would receive ?X? amount of months before I would have to start re-paying again.  5 days after that phone call was made to confirm my forbearance was accepted, I was receiving collection calls from Chase calming that I owed them money and that there wasn?t any forbearance.  Ever since then they have constantly harassed me, called multiple times throughout the day, on my cell phone, my references and most recently my office phone, which I cannot take calls outside of work on.  I have tried and tried to work with them and they won?t work with me at all.  Their collections departments are so stupid they recommend stuff like ?I should have a yard sell and sell stuff in my apartment? or ?I should skip my car payment or sell my car? in which those two suggestions may be the two stupidest things I?ve ever heard anyone say.  If I sell my car, how to I get to work?!

Anyways, I will never ever do any business with Chase again, and I suggest everyone else do the same.
