Called the number saying "This is your privacy manager...there is no one to answer calls".  What?

I receive a call on my home phone where a person (Sarah Smith) identifies herself as a State Locator and wants to let me know that I have a lawsuit filed against me. Prior to talking to her, she spoke with my sister, who Sarah told that she was just talking to me minutes before, and that I sounded frantic and scared before hanging up on her. None of what Sarah said was true. When I get the phone from my sister, Sarah mentions none of what she just told my sister, who is standing beside me now, waiting to see my facial reactions because she is now extremely concerned. Sarah instead tells me that I need to call 866-760-9787 with a Complaint # that she gives me, and states that I am to send over a Release of Order Form or else someone will try to come to my employer. The number ends up being a scam where someone tries to get me to verify my social and birthday. I instead asked him questions about his job, of which the phone call ended abruptly.

Locators do NOT call people and tell them they have a lawsuit filed against them - they just LOCATE people.  This is a well known scam - similar to the fake process server calls.  More info here:

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

I get calls all the time from this #. It is a Houston, Tx number & called ID is saying Privacy Manager.. I don't answer.

This sounds like a variant on one of these:
You get a call from someone claiming to be a phone company technician who needs to check the lines and wants you to assist by dialing a series of numbers. Or maybe the caller says you've won a prize. To claim it, you must dial some specific numbers. Or someone you know is in jail.

Warning: It's a scam. Actually, you're dialing the call forwarding code to your phone and forwarding your number to another number. Scammers can then use your line to make calls while you pick up the bill.

Call-forwarding scams aren't common, but they happen often enough that major telecom companies such as AT&T have posted warnings on their Web sites.

What does "Privacy Manager" mean?  Who's calling me?

hate to tell you this but, fed goverment is not very smart . you must they (do not call) must have 50 complaints about one phone number before thet take any action. these people know this and started useing throw away cell phones and throw them away before they make 50 calls and start useing another number to call you. so don't expect any help

At 1:45 am this morning, I received a call from this number.  Of course it woke my husband and I up.  I pressed the 1 button to see who was calling and I heard something like, "Big Don One".  I hung up.  About 15 minutes later I got another wake-up call from a 1-800 number.  How do we stop these people!?

The caller said he was a lawyer who needed money for a person who was in custody. Call 06/12/2012.

Call blocker is a company which blocks unwanted phone calls to your cell phone, Did you recently get a new cell number, if so, they are proboly trying to renew the scribe to your cell number. I hope this helps you.

Received call from this number, collect from my son... He has a unique name so I know that it is authentic.  However, I do not know where this location is.  My son has no money, and no cell phone (battery low).  He has been lost all day in Houston.  I just want to find him.  He is over 18, but totally not familiar with the METRO system in Houston.  I wish someone could help me locate him. I hope this is not a call from jail. :-(

caller called at 9:45PM and was fishing for information about who owned property and whether or not we were renting or buying....very suspicious call from "Jane Smith"

This number calls me frequently, it is annoying, do not know who they are.

Got a call from 713-387-2506 and Privacy Manager handled it.  I went to this site and read the messages.  I decided to use my Call Blocker - but they may have roll-over numbers to use.  If that's the case, I'll just keep blocking them.  Call Blocker holds up to 10 numbers. We'll see------

I have had this #,  call 3 times. I have privacy manager, so it tells me who is calling. I was listening before I  took the call, the caller stated her name as Gloria Vemaris, very fast. I did not know this person, so I ignored the call. Now I will add her to my block list on my great digital Panasonic phone.KX-TGA740. There are several models on this phone. It blocks up to 30 #'s. They are very reasonable in price. This is the best investment I have ever made. Like everyone else, these calls are annoying, and a waste of time. I love my new phone.

someone called our land line at 12:45AM. Same privacy manager, noone answered, then the phone rang again at 1:10.Also at 1:40.  We eventually had to put the phone off the hook.  OHHHHH!!!

I have been geting calls several times a day from privacy manager
713-387-2506 then shortly after the call (which also goes unanswered) I get a call from ATT 713-387-2507 when I called back # has been disconected.
There is only the last number difference... Same people.

I get this call too, though I don't answer it, my Mom does. She says the caller is named "Ben Wong". He is a Jack***. I tried calling back on the home phone, but I got the message I needed to dial one. So then I used my cellphone but every time I try to call that number, no one is at the phone to ever take my call. This really needs to stop. It is really pissing me off. >:(

This person called my home 05/07/09 and ask about Visa Debt Card transactions.  My wife answered they wanted to speak to me and me only.
They then ask to have me call the next day @ 1-800-337-3390  This was a bogus # I spoke with my credit union and they said it was a scam.  Hope the feds get these jerks

"privacy Manager"  can't find out who these peope are.  I tried to call back this number and got no where.  I want this to STOP. They call at all times.
