Call Global Tel Link and they (say they) will block your number from calls from the Jail.  866-230-7761.  I wasn't too keen on giving them my address, but it's a business cell phone, so I gave my office street address without the suite number.

I keep getting calls from 713-507-9873, 713-507-9997, 713-507-0886 and 713-718-1056.  Must be the scam that others are receiving as well.  There must be SOME way to stop this.  How can this be stopped?

Got a call this am from this number, got another last night from the same number. Can this not be stopped?

This number called me and I hung up but when I tried to call my mom some man was on the line and said he was a sheriff. he gave me a number to call to get the charges dropped off my phone but I called my mom first. When I did call the number it was disconnected does this mean my phone is going to be hijacked? What do i do to stop this?

got a call from the 9873 number.  caller id said payphone and a recorded message said that it was " a collect call from a collectional agency".

I RECEIVED TWO CALLS LAST NIGHT AND I DO  NOT KNOW ANYONE IN THE HARRIS COUNTY JAIL.

Just received a collect call from 713-507-9997.  Wanted me to accept the call with a $3.87 charge, then gave 2 other numbers to call to back.  Don't answer these!

The Cell Phone at the city JAIL AGAIN!  DO NOT ANSWER!!  They call collect and attempt to have you call another number so they can hijack your phone line!

We have been getting bombarded with calls from this number as well as 713-507-0968, 0964, 0974, 0966, 9991, 9959, 0963, 9965, 9997, 0901, 0896, we started getting them on Dec 11th and have gotten a total of 8 already today, 12/14 and it is only 2:30pm!  If anyone know how to block these numbers, please let us know!  Thanks

We had the same problem.  I'm surprised it's not a crime to perpetrate this type of scam.  Would be pretty to easy to catch the criminals, since they're already locked up :-)
