WTF?

This guy called twice within half an hour asking for the owner/president of the company.  I told the caller he wasn't here and asked if I could take a message.  He said no and hung up.

Ditto. Guy was very rude. When I told him the boss wasn't in he just hung up on me.

Got a call from this number and it was a woman. Same story about asking for charity for the police and fire dept. I told her to remove my name and she hung up before I could finish speaking. Very rude.

This is a scam.  They get your business information from the county records and call you quite aggressively demanding money for a BS police/firefighter charity.  I traced the number back to an apartment building off of Bellaire...which is just criminally dumb.  These people are the equivalent of wood ticks on the scrotum of Houston, mindlessly feeding until discovered.  Don't give them any money, no matter what story they tell you. Legit charities have fundraisers and websites....not some boileroom phone panhandlers.

This guy is rude and I think it's a scam. He says it's for COPs but I don't believe it somehow this needs to be reported

I got a call from a man on this number claiming that he was from the police department.  It was obvious that he was not.  This is definitely a scam.

Today I received a call from this number and someone ask for the owner by full name, after I told him that the owner was not available he hung up inmmediatly, I called back to ask why where they calling, and after five times I asked finally they told me that they raised funds for the police department.
Then I told him that I was in the "do not call" list, he asked for my number again and said that they won't call again. I hope thats true.

Same exact thing... they call every year and are always rude to me.

Called last night around 6 PM, and again this morning right @ 9AM. Dont know it... Glad I looked.

recieved a call from this charity org. a person called bob hicks called me and said if i would donate 1000.- --250.00 to their charity called unitedcare.org but could find them on the internet. they also said that they work with brazoria counties sherriffs department and they are trying to race funds for the the local community. I called back the number 713-541-0122 and asked for the name of thier org. and would not reply. He just said to first give him my name and we would help me out, He started mumbling when i keeped on persisting to tell me the name of his org. after several attemps i just hung up the guy. It's got to be a scam be ware of this org.

This guy was agressive and rude!  I started a company and filed with the state 4 days ago and all morning long people like him have been blowing my phone up asking for donations!!!!!!  I was nice to him and he said "yeah whatever"  AND HUNG UP!  They know you're name b/c it's public information on the state's website.

This is a scam.  This little enterprise gets your information from Harris County and then aggressively calls you, representing themselves as a BS police and firefighter charity.  Real charities have fundraisers and websites.  It's an easy scam to spot and avoid.  Simply explain that you don't ever give out contributions to phone solicitors...ever and that in any case, you'd have to verify their contributions with the police department.
I traced these turd-farmers back to an apartment in Bellaire......so you know it's not only NOT legit but criminally stupid as well.

Just got a call from the same people .. guy was very rude. I think he had called earlier. He had my name and my bosses name, the first time around he wasn't that rude, a little but wow the second time he asked for my boss, when I told him he wasn't in and asked if I could help he just hung up on me.

The caller asked for me by name.  Then said, "Are you hands up or hands down?"  I said, "Excuse me?"  He wanted to know if I would be a "gold" contributor, silver contributer, etc. for the police department.  I said, I'm sorry, but I never contribute on the phone.  He asked how I did, and I said,  "send me some literature."  He said I'm telling you what is in the literature.  Then I told him that I can no longer make the voluntary charitable contributions that I had in the past.  He asked why.  I said because of the election results and our taxes going up, I would have to cut back somewhere.  Donations like this would be the first to be cut.

This is the second call I got from these people within half an hour.  The caller asked for president of the company.  I told him he wasn't here.  The guy said thank you and hung up.  This guy is a persistent moron.

Got call from this guy.  Said they were raising money for injured/killed cops.  Said they could take donations of $1000, $750, or $500.  I told him I could possibly give a small amount, he said lowest is $100.  I asked if I could donate $20, he said no, that was not enough.  Sounds like a scam, I would think a real charity would take any donation, or the guy is an idiot.

The guy called back today, he is fundraising for C.O.P.'s
Collition of Police officers.. he says,
I told him we donate to United Way if he was calling for a solicitation, he sounded very sad and said, "ok, thank you" and we hung up.

Someone from this number called me today.  I tried to call back and the phone just rang with no answer and no message machine/voicemail.

We received the same call from this number last week and today.  The man was extremely rude and asked for my boss.  I told him that his was out, he asked what time he would be back, I told him Monday.  Well guess what!!! He called on Monday (today) asking for my boss.  I told him he was out.  He said, Well didn't you tell me last week that he would be in on Monday!?   I told him off and he hung up quickly.  I hope I scared him!!

Received a call from this number but did not answer because I was in a meeting, but am now glad I looked it up.

We received a call from this number today and the man on the phone asked for the owner by name.  When told that individual was not available until around 2 he became very rude and wanted a guarantee that the owner would be available at that time. The caller ID said this was United Shares something or other.

This gentleman called my number and asked for the owner by name...told him the owner was out...he asked when would he be back...I said he would be out for the week and then I asked who he was and he quickly hung up the phone.

Received a call from this number and someone immediately asked for the owner of my company. As the general manager of a glass company, I screen most calls as most are trying for donations. I responded that the owner was out and the caller proceeded to ask vague questions like "how much does a window cost" and "how do you fix a door?" Obviously these questions were for a purpose other than a sincere need for repairs. Immediately after hanging up, the same number came up on another phone line coming in my office. The caller recognized my voice and instantly hung up.

Someone called from this number, asked for the owner or general manager.  I told him the person he needed to speak with wasn't available, doesn't have a set schedule, he said, can you get a hold of him if you wanted to, I said, I can leave a message and he'll pick it up when he comes in.  I asked who he was with, he said the cops. He would call back again later.  I think this was one of those fundraising companies.  We donate to the 100 Club exclusively.
